On cyrodiil you use transient stones to teleport within map and wayshrine to leave cyrodiil. Morrowind better have a similar system for fas travel. Silt striders to fast travel in Vvardenfell and 1 or 2 wayshrine to leave the map.

I think the people they hired to overlook the game... Overlooked this.

They should have these guys instead of wayshrines.

It would be awesome if we got the Riders, but I'm not counting on it. zos is too unpredictable, and in general seems to put the least amount of work they can get by with. Look at housing. Most of the houses are copies or slightly modified versions of existing game houses. Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

If I have to deal with Cliff Racers again, there had better be Silt Riders as an Alternative.

We have seen 2 silt striders in the cinematic, so i would assume to find them in the actual game as well.
Wether or not they actually serve a function other than nostalgia bombing remains to be seen.

There was a mod you could get for Morrowind that gave the silt strider an actual walking path. It was amazing although it took much longer to get where you were going.

But yes, we need silt striders. Especially if they make the weird noises. That's part of the atmosphere.

There were no wayshrines in Morrowind.

Mages' guild guides/teleport between Mages' guilds

Silt striders [basically a teleport since you didn't "see" anything between strider stations]

Boats [basically a teleport since you didn't "see" anything between docks]

Mark/Recall spells, rings, and potions [teleport]

    Divine Intervention scrolls [teleport]

    Almsivi Intervention scrolls [teleport]

I admit I used console command to coc more in Morrowind/Tribunal/Bloodmoon than I should have, but it got annoying running between the same towns over and over and over and over......

I understand it was a practical form of transportation but I feel everyone is missing the point of them. They are awesome beasts even without being useful. Who cannot love something that sings like a whale?

You also had the stones who sent you to dwemer ruins.
Main problem in Morrowind was that the system was pretty complex and you often needed to switch transport multiple times.
It also had huge areas with no transport.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I expect them, just not as a transport system (or if they still are, a less used one). I very much doubt they'll just do away with wayshrines.

Yeah, I wish they would not do the wayshrines, but that is ESO and that is the way things will be. What we will likely see are "static" silt striders. I expect beasts just hanging around some area, like netches, that we can kill for pleasure and profit.

We can travel by wayshrine, but the poor sots in Tamriel have to walk. They are not even allowed to ride horses. I am not sure what happens between ESO and the 3rd Era that spawns the use of travel, like silt striders in Vvardenfell and carts in Skyrim. Maybe we can get the Lore Master on that, although I suspect it is as simple as the fact that they got tired of walking, after thousands of years.

It'll be analogous to Cyrodiil. Silt Striders will essentially be Transient Shrines, and there will be a way shrine that takes you to, and from the mainland. The main difference between Morrowind, and Cyrodiil however, will be that you can fast travel anywhere at any time; whether it be a wayshrine or Silt Strider. That's how I would do it.

Fast traveling to me was casting a spell that increased my acrobatics to an insane amount for 2 seconds, and then casting a levitation spell just before impact. Worked quite well
