Returning NB

Hey I'm returning from a pretty long time off, wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a good starter build for my lvl 50 champ 25 nb? Haven't played. Since pre console so slots changed and all my points have been reset. Any suggestions would be awesome!

1st you should consider getting to cp160 as fast as you can(cp160 is gear cap aka vr16). For gear I would go 5 Hunding's or 5 NMGS(Hunding's if you're going for more weapon dmg and NMG if you're going for more crit). If you're a khajiit NMG is better. And then a 4x Night Silence for more resources and regen. For skills and CP you should take inspiration from other NB builds(Alcast's Rampage or Gilliam's NB for example). This is all for stam NB though.
    Fishoscandi - Orc NB
Cookie of Dough - Dunmer Templar
Smells Like Tree Spirit - Bosmer Sorc

Concur. Get a Hundings set with training trait (to earn CPs faster). Then go explore some of the new content and zones. Play craglorn if you haven't. Spend your "enlightenment" (400k of 8x xp earns) daily, and in about two weeks you should be at c160. At that point, you can start thinking about long-term gear and collecting it.

If you have dlc access, play thieves guild or dark Brotherhood. Both are great for a NB and will get you back into the swing of things. (Plus 6-8 skill points per area, and lots of potentially valuable goodies).

If you have build questions or need skills guidance, reply with @me in the thread and I'll see it and reply. Also need to know if you're a stamblade or magblade...and race...I can shoot some suggestions on what to level up and then what sets to lean toward.

So i do have eso plus.

Stamblade, Breton, i realize my race doesn't do anything for the class but i like the bretons. looks like some of the more useful skills require assault levels, best way to go about that?

Was also considering just starting fresh with a sorc or templar dps, never tried them out.

I've never been obsessed with racial passives. A Breton stamblade should be fine. If you ever get into super hard end game content maybe you role a different character...no big...your champion points will apply to them too.

I'd suggest running your vet for a while before starting a new character. Why? Your non-vet toons can use your champion points. So if your main racks up 150-200 CPs, your new characters will be twice as powerful and easier to play. Or roll a new character now and play both...but use up your enlightenment (it's on your character sheet).

One place to start is any public dungeons you haven't completed. You now have access to the whole map. This will net some skill points, sky shards and practice.

I definitely recommend the thieves and dark bro areas. Once you complete the second quest in either, dailies open up that are fun on a stamblade, and can reward valuable motifs...you might need some gold to rebuild the armory, lol. Wrothgar is also an amazing area...lots to do. All three of these zones are self contained stories, so you go play them, get used to your character again, then go pick up where you left off in the main game

As a stamblade, you definitely want vigor. It will change the character's life. And you probably want caltrops. This means leveling assault/support up to level 6. Good news: this takes 1/10th the AP as before. Bad news: if you're starting from scratch, this still requires about 100,000 AP total. But this is doable in 4-5 solid pvp sessions. As a lower CP toon, the best AP opportunities are probably:

    - keep defense. Go to big battles. Successful defenses after big battles can net 10k AP.
    - There are repeatables at your base. After next week, the capturing a resource repeatable quest nets 1000 AP. You can do three or four of these an hour.
    - Wall repairs. Yawn. But effective, lol. Go to the keeps on the edges when your team own them...there's always 2000+ AP in repairs waiting.

Hey thanks a lot, I've been reading a couple thing and it echoes them very much so. One last question, best way to find a battle in pvp? Just pop into cyradill through the campaign menu and head towards one on the map or is there a more efficient method? As well any suggestions on campaigns? Thanks again!

    @sirbrophy

There are a couple of ways to get into a fight, lol.

    1. Make a "busy" campaign your home campaign. I'm not sure which platform you're on. Currently on PS4 na, scourge is the 24/7 campaign of choice. Some of the 7 days are good too. Right now there are too many campaigns for the number of players, so some are deserted. If your non-cp campaign is busy, that might be a good option since you'll be less handicapped. But on my server Azuras Star is a ghost town...where you go to collect shard undisturbed, lol.

    2. In a busy campaign during peak hours, it tends to be 3-4 keeps that flip over and over and over. Often it's the outposts. When I want AP, I don't always run ahead to the next fight. Often, staying at the keep you k ow is going to fall under attack within an hour is a better return. Tip: sometimes it pays to just park your toon in such a keep. I'll occasionally put my guy in sneak in a dark corner then go do real life chores, checking in every once in a while to see if we're under assault. Once I sat down and got an 11k AP reward this way. I felt bad because I hadn't helped...but not THAT bad, lol.

    3. Text chat is widely used now. Put out a zone chat: "LFG, stamblade bow build." You'll almost always get a group invite. If you're very specific about what you want to do, specify. "LFG to run resource capture for AP," or whatever.

    4. Join an active guild, or a pvp guild. The guild recruitment pages here are great. Scroll through to find ones to ask for an invite, or make a post saying what you're looking for. Once in a guild, turn your rolling text chat display on when you're looking to pvp or group pve play. In active guilds people will be chatting all the time about what they're about to play...you often see "anyone going to Cyrodiil tonight" or stuff like that.
