Battle Grounds Access

I will be buying the Morrowind chapter myself. However I think that because this is such dramatically different PvP that the community has been wanting from the start, it should be in some form open to everyone. A larger player base will keep it healthier and more active. What do you think?

I'm not trying to change your opinion but with all the PVP threads regarding lag , exploits and disconnected issues for the last 6 months , do you really expect PVP players to honestly invest more money into PVP ? Let's not even include the fact a lot of PVP players are already gone and left the game a long time ago . We can cap one out of four campaigns on PC NA with PVP players of all factions right now . Just one . At launch this was easy to do on all campaigns .

Just some insight from players not in agreement . Because you can't believe these forums .

I am not saying full access, I am saying a variation or particular map and mode. Having a larger pool of players queuing would benefit this system and players in a few ways:

Shorter queue times. Especially after the newness wears off.

More diversity in opposition. I hate getting op'd against the same groups over and over in any game. It become monotonous.

If they implement matchmaking, and I hope they do, it will mitigate skill disparity between contestants. Thereby providing a healthier and more entertaining experience.

Just some of the things that have been running through my head.

Yes I think that would be healthier for the game, however they would have to gate something to create incentive to buy the xpac - maybe no access to the leaderboard, titles, gear, etc.

They don't need people active in PvP if they aren't going to get revenue from them, especially in battle grounds involving only 12 players.

I vote yes simply because im not sure there are enough active pvpers to even keep the battlegrounds busy, so thinning the heard just means more standing around.

Also has there been any mention of how you actually get into the battle ground! Queue? Premade? 12 people run through a red door?

Ppl who disagree aren't lacking any understanding. It's as simple as this content doesn't exist in ththe areas you play now.

Regardless of the mess Cyrodil is and sometimes Imperial City....it's always been a mess.

Suggesting that anyone should get free access to something new because it's better than something current, especially when it requires an additional payment is not realistic or reasonable.

Using that logic, all types of players would then be given free access to all types of content.

Once Pve done achievement it be empty. Pvp has no reason to sub either, no reason to support when there is no balance, 1 vendor rest all trash, no map update and lag.

Would pve pay $40 for one 12 man piece of content? Of course haha they are silly.
This recent update has made me sad. Sad for the game. Sad for the community. Sad to pay whatever it is now. I want the previous eso back.

I respect your opinion . I truly hope for those purchasing Marrowind for battlefields get their money's worth and feel it is a value . I have no desire to see the game be unsuccessful . My concern is just based on my experience with other games that had locked battlefields and had to un lock them and go free to play because it was not successful there . It is not warranted to say that scenario will play out here because this community is unique to other mmo communities . However I was right about the past and players leaving PVP all together here for other games and we do have a struggling PVP population left here . I would be happy to be wrong about this . However even if free I am not interested in pre made battlefields with capture the flag and death match mode like FPS games . No interest at all and hope a rejuvenated Cyrodiil will some day appear .

Zos missed the boat on this one. Being that battle grounds has been something very desired by the PvP community it should have been locked behind subscription access.

The reason is that those that PvP and only want to PvP have little to no reason to subscribe or buy DLCs uunless they want a monster set from one of the 4 DLC dungeons. This would have incentivized subscribing for those players. SWTOR essentially placed PvP behind the subscription for this very reason.

    @Rohamad_Ali

I was one of those original PvP "people" who left PvP all together.

I assumed the siege campaigns and scroll runs would be fun because of the similarities to Dark Age of Camelot.

The problem is they are saling it as PvP and not doing PvP. They need to sale and adjust it to purely siege and scroll runs only for Cyrodil.

Imperial City need to come as result to scroll and siege but not strictly a PvP thing. Once cleared as PvP it should be all PvE but large group PvE and that's where all gold drops should occur but it should be a lot harder and not soloable or done with groups smaller than 12.

Campaigns should be PvP or PvE
That determines access to Imperial City and the factions should lock for your account once you join a campaign.

You also shouldn't get points for player kills because that whole area wasn't designed for stable and consistent player battles.

Defending a keep or sieges should grant points

That's one way of doing it.
PvP tho should actually have been dueling but not how ppl duel in random areas.

Dueling should be a queue activity as well as a manual fight that takes players to very small arenas. Within this, the skills, effects and set bonuses should adjust for balanced fights

The issue really isn't dlc or expansions. It's the overall lack of understanding and direction

Just my opinion on it all. I've felt that way for a long time.

that will be the worst pvp dlc ever released so far, zos cant Balance pvp, they simply doesnt give a *** about hotfixing broken sets or skills, and now we have 4v4v4 with 5 classes, only one class or mby 2 will be seen in the bg, you know the op shitts as tremo/blackrosse tanks or invisible stam sorcs.

zos simply doesnt give a *** about pvp, just take a look at the reward after 30 day 10k Gold and 10 repair stons for winning a campain, now if you within the 3% of the top you get 5 legendary ... good they arnt worth enought to buy me more pots for 30 days.

so now why does anyone think pvp will be great with this dlc... it wont

It's pretty much a whole new game you have to buy seperately. Everything included in Morrowind is Morrowind Exclusive. Any base game updates will be the same as previous DLC & Patches. Meaning yes, I got one tamriel but I didn't need Dark Brotherhood to get it but I did need Dark Brotherhood to play any and all Gold Coast content.

Yes, the gear cap may raise but you don't need Morrowind for it to do so but I will need Morrowind to play any and all Morrowind Content.

The class is exclusive, the battlegrounds are exclusive, the dungeons are exclusive, the trial is exclusive. Why would you NOT buy new content at this point? This is the first real expansion for ESO, not some new hat in the crown store, geez.

Because other MMOs with PVP are coming out for the same price at the same time . I would like to get a truly full new game for the same price . I'd rather check out there launches in the summer then take a risk with something I know has problems still around since beta . But I do hope you guys have fun . That's what games are about .
