I have to agree, who are you running with? It's not like these are pugged out that often. Someone pulls that crap and they aren't likely to be invited again. That includes friends and guildmates.

I expected the immediate responses to be "Obviously you have pugs." Yes, a 10-man group from a guild may ask two non guildmates to join vAA, for example. I suppose it could be surmised that the problem with a ruined vAA group is NOT that one outsider in an MMO can end a run by activating hardmode, and the only threat is "you won't get invited again", or that the problem is the group of 10 members, because two other viable guildmates were not online at the time, but, I tend to believe the problem is the cause of the ruined group, which is the actual activation of hardmode by one outlier. The option "never do a trial without 12 people you are absolutely 100% positive will never troll every other group member" isn't a viable solution because there is no control element.
As for speed runs, since everyone has to be in the boss room at the same time for the entire group to engage in the activity (in two Craglorn trials, the door closes and in the other, you have to all stand on pads to advance), it's really a moot point. Your crown is moving with the group.
Yes. Should be this way. More than a few times some ding *** couldnt leave the statues alone and ruins the experience for the whole group that barely made it to this point anyways.
Personally if they are going to change this, I would rather they made it possible to turn off Hardmode for the Craglorn Trials after it was activated.
This way groups who discover they can't finish Hardmode still have a chance to finish, rather than needing to choose between disbanding or replacing people.
