RPG path - What brought you to ESO?

Hey,
Just wondering what path through the world of RPGs some of you took on your way to ESO. This is my first MMO, and seeing other questers in my RPG got me thinking about all you RPG fans... prompted this thread.

To be honest I don't buy many games as I tend to fall in love with one and stick to it

Fable 2 and 3. God I wish I could still play the second one, the console packed up years ago
Kingdoms of Amalur. Good game, average graphics even then but the storytelling and combat reminds me of eso
Skyrim
Skyrim with mods. Yes this does count as a separate choice
Diablo 3. Basicaly the gaming version of junk food but good fun

Oh Yeah.. Fable. I think I finished Fable2, Diablo was very popular with my Bro and our friends, but I never really dove in

Ive been Fantasy fan as far I remember, D&D, Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, Pool of Radiance, you name it, Ive played them all. As for ES series, it was Skyrim what really won me over, but it seems it doesnt last long, Witcher 3 was pretty damn awesome, interesting to see if ES6 can top it or Dragon Age 4. I think Witcher 3 will remain as the King.

Okay so yeah, I have just played a lot of RPGs. I really liked the TES setting and idea, but wasn't able to get into Morrowind at my age at the time, Oblivion I loved but hated the mechanics, Skyrim was just enjoyment all through (minus the gutting choice/consequence).

cool I claim D&D basic (1977) followed quickly by AD&D 1st Edition and 2rd edition when that came out

also as soon as the ZX spectrum came out I spent many an hour banging my head against the tv screen trying to get the exact wording needed for games like "the hobbit", not to mention trying to load the game from a caste player

after that, I discovered girls, beer, acid house parties and the rest, so had a bit of a break until about 2000-2002 when I got my first proper PC and discovered Deus ex and I never looked back

must admit ESO has been my first MMO, mainly because of playing the other games in the cannon and when it went b2p there was no way I wasn't going to get it, that and WOW cartoon esque art design is truly awful

Discovered Elder Scrolls Arena when I was in high school.

Too many to mention, though Baldur's Gate holds a special place in my heart. But in truth, the biggest influence is in fact the humble book. They are my real passion. I love a good story, and Elder Scrolls is pretty good at telling them.

@DigitalShibby my stance has changed on this, just back then I wasn't mature enough to understand how good the game was.

I remember enjoying it and running around having fun exploring, but just not understanding the mechanics at all so I would just suck and then not have any fun.
