Indeed. And the formulas already exist in MMORPGs:Prof_Bawbag wrote: »Any sort of rewards for simply playing the game are a good thing.

Mounts costumes and pets go in the crown store and thats how this game makes money.
Thats how it has been how it is and how it will most likely stay.
The question isn't "Do you think ZOS will do this since they try to sell all of this on the Crown Store?", it's "Would you like to see it in the game?"
You mean... like dwemer spider pet, or shrouded armor costume, or skeleton transformation or old orsinium sentry costume, or...tinythinker wrote: »For current/future content, would you like to see some in-game exclusives along the lines of mounts, pets, and costumes that you can only acquire through running said content?
I mentioned some examples myself of this general type of thing being in game, but I am talking more about using special/rare rewards for hard to get achievements *or* that randomly drop, not just by finishing a an easy quest/questline or buying a DLC and walking into a city. Something that is like a meaningful title that you wear or ride or that follows you around to encourage players to keep playing the same content more than once with a character.TheShadowScout wrote: »You mean... like dwemer spider pet, or shrouded armor costume, or skeleton transformation or old orsinium sentry costume, or...tinythinker wrote: »For current/future content, would you like to see some in-game exclusives along the lines of mounts, pets, and costumes that you can only acquire through running said content?
We have pets, and costumes. The only thing lacking is mounts, and those are not gonne be likely to come seeing how they are kinda banking on crown store sales - the only one I could see is the plain brown horse showing up as quest reward, because at 10K gold, its darn fu... uhm... fugly easy to get anyhow.
Or is it just that you want -more- of those things?
I wouldn't mind more of them.
I kinda way a bit disappointed that the final artifact collector quest in Wrothgar gave you three costumes instead of a bear to ride, but I could understand that (see above about them banking on crown store profits). Same for the other themed mounts.

Besides we should be happy we get costumes from DLC quests and can buy horses in the stables for barely any gold at all. I have seen enough MMO's where they could only be obtained trough in-game purchases
Minor clarification: The dyes in the store work completely differently from the ones in the game.
When you buy a dye stamp from the store it only allows you to use those 3 dyes on 1 costume (not armour) and only in the order they're shown - there is no customisation there.
Which is completely different from dyes obtained from achievements which are unlocked on your account and can be used on any armour or (if you're a subscriber) costume in any combination you like as many times as you want.
So while it's sort-of correct to say dyes are in the crown store and from achievements I don't think you can compare the two. It's not like if you don't want to do an achievement you can just go and buy the dye instead.
Would be neat to see but its not going to happen.

There are already costumes and pets we can obtain from playing the game. The current means is even better than a random drop because they are from completing achievements that are known. Much better than adding more RNG to a game.
