What is your favorite mansion and why

For me hands down the best is Daggerfall Overlook it has the best and simplest to navigate and most open interior
The yard has limitless potential for design
It has 4 decently sized areas that are distinctly separate and one massive one being the grand hall
Two large outdoor areas being the assumably stable and forge and a small but perfect for the imaginitive roof of the guard tower
It also has two large rooms and an enormous basement that with dividers can sere multiple functions
I also love the view of the sea its the perfect place to put a garden and lounging area
This Manor in my opinion is perfectly suited for both a personal mansion and guild hall (and depending on guild size and activity possibly both!)

I will be posting screenshots as I get areas to my liking =p

I only pray ZOS will let me keep it the way I've furnished it on the normal server

Both DC and EP are good

Why the AD has a cat one and not the supremist elves mansion, isn't there anything like that in game to make a mansion.

Serenity Falls because it's the only one that's bigger than a large house. The EP one is positively tiny and completely claustrophobic. The DC one is nice inside, but the yard is still smaller than most large homes.

The one that comes with enough item slots to fully enjoy it. So, none i guess.

After 2 weeks exploring the large homes and mansions, and with plenty of money and crowns ready to spend....I'll buy buying something for under 100k gold that I can actually "fill" with items. 200 items in a staple home is twice as many items per sq ft as 600 Items for a mansion and grounds.

Other than the titles that come with the Mansions, I have to say I am leaning towards a medium or maybe large house instead. So far its either the Mathiesen place or the one near the Baandari Trading Post. But that is the size of the home that actually appeals to me.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I'm telling you, with the current arbitrary limitations to items and visitors, combined with the lack of functionality built in....the best manor is no manor at all.

The more hours I spend in the PTS the smaller my house plans become. And that's sad.

Haven't developed a preference between the manors. If the AD manor had Altmer architecture that probably would have been it as the grounds are very nice, but I'm not enamored with Khajiiti buildings and there's no basement.

Exactly. They are teasing us with pretty concept arts, but we have no means creating anything remotely unique like those without running out of furnishing space after the first room..

Not going to have enough gold or time for a mansion on my end ... but some of the pictures in this thread are looking pretty creative. Nice job.

So, my favorite mansion is ...

    ... the Vile Manse.

    Serenity all day.

The second building/stable area is fantastic, waterfall is beautiful and has lots of potential for gardening.

Mathiisen manor seems to have best of everything for me except for location; good amount of interior space, huge garden (bigger than dc manor) and doesn't look extremely dim like other houses.

I don't know why Mathiisen isn't considered the largest for AD, Serenity Falls' interior is small and garden area looks like a chaparral

Well, I screwed the quote up, so to @willienellson who said "The more hours I spend in the PTS the smaller my house plans become. And that's sad."

This. I lost most of my enthusiasm and have started just playing around with the smaller places that have outdoor space that I'm able to fill with vegetation and create a nice relaxing yard. Indoors in these little one-room places, I probably won't even bother putting a bed because I'm just not a studio kind of person. I need a fireplace, maybe a fur rug and a few pillows in front of it to lay my head down at night, a comfy rocking chair in front of the fire, a table to eat at, a counter to prepare food, a ton of lighting because everything is so dark and dreary, and lots of paintings and tapestries to cover mostly ugly stone walls, and I'll be good enough.

Sadly, none of the mansions appeal to me. And I was sure they would before I got into PTS. Sigh.

While I prefer the daggerfall manor as far as local and all to be honest I would probably get three of the large houses instead of one manor for similar price. Namely Mathiisen place Hunding place and the forsaken place.

I am going for the Daggerfall Overlook. I am real close to saving enough gold before it hits consoles. I am going take my time and feel it up slowly with decorations. No point and rushing. I going to go out and find my decorations from crafting, stealing, and doing dungeons then going to return and start decoration it with what I find. It going to be nice returning home and watching it transform into a amazing place each time I add on to it.

Daggerfall Overlook is the best looking mansion in my opinion. I don't really like any of them that much though, they all just look like banks  I find most, if not all of the large houses to be far nicer than the Manors

I had fun with decorating different houses, but given item limits and space I think I want to get a house that had at least a 600 item limit, but I don't think the manors are worth the 3M price tag.

    My Favorites right now:

Mournoth Keep - Best Bargain size vs. cost at 325K

Forsaken Stronghold - Best IMO at ~1M

Gorinir Estate - Best outdoor space at ~800K

I may just get the Cyrodilic Jungle House for 71K and put my Skeleton in it and wait to see what they put in the game later.

    Playing since beta...

Personally, I don't like any of the mansions.

My favourite house is the Argonian style "Stay-Moist Mansion" which is a large house.
