Im just starting this thread to get some ideas out there for this or future PTS as many minds thinking together is better then one. ZOS knows the internal mechanics of there game better then we do but the players are the ones putting countless hours into this game and i feel we know what is working and whats not a bit better.
1. Whirlwind Whirling blades is probably used by 1% of the playerbase. Right now stamina lack AOE in end game trials, thats a fact. while steel tornado is one of the best AOEs in the game, you have to spam cast it to be effective, since we have to spam it we are not casting other damage abilities lowering our overall DPS. Id like to see a poison morph of this that would do initial damage and then add a poison DOT for x amount of seconds. this would make it so you could work this skill into a rotation.
2. Blade cloak another issue stamina has in trials and why magicka is prefered is survivability . this skill does give 20% AOE reduction which is great. the problem with it is the damage output is lackluster. stamina chars dont have much wiggle room on there bars right now, especially stam sorcs. slotting this skill right now is a ahuge dps loss. make this skill do more damage and have a bigger AOE along with the 20% reduction and stam chars gain some huge survivability.
Bow and 2handed trees both of these trees are non existant in PVE other then endless hail and poison injection. The main problem with these trees is that they lack a "spammable" skill. Snipe takes way to long to cast, uppercut also takes to long to cast to be put in a damage rotation that is worth anything. id like to see bows becoming more usefull somehow to give stam an option to range dps in trials. 2h imo is just built for pvp there really isnt anything yu could do to it to help with pve without reworking the entire tree which i dont think is a good idea.
CLASS SKILLS
DRAGON KNIGHT Overall i think mDKs will be in a good spot after this next patch if they find a way to fix dragon blood.
*Dragon blood - most talked about dk skill out there right now. im assuming they are working on a different approach seeing the new one is just, well not even gonna go there.
my fix for dragon blood would be to give it a heal over time that procs off DOTS and gives us either a magicka return or magicka regen that stacks with major intellect. This would kill 2 birds with one stone. i dont know if having a heal over time off DOTS would be to OP but i just thought it would be a cool idea seeing as DKS are the DOT masters. a raw value heal is not the answer i think it needs to be a HOT. we have burst heals with claw and deep breath granted u have to be up close to use. A HOT would help synergize with these skills better and give you a heal outside of combat.
*Ash Cloud give stamina an AOE by making a poison version of this much like eruption. simple fix that will give stamina some much needed AOE.
Dark talons id like to see choking talons do poison damage along with the enemy damage reduction. this would give stam dks a viable option to bring to a trial with this group utility.
These are just some of the ideas that could make a big impact. Yes all these changes are stamina based but i think thats what needs love in PVE magicka is gonna be fine in next patch. overall stamina needs to bring more to the table now that single traget DPS is close between stam and mag. Ive said this in another post but there are 4 major things that go on in PVE.
Single target damage
AOE damage
utility
survivability
Magicka offers good STD and great AOE damage while bringing group utility and survivability to a trial.
Stamina on the other hand does great STD, low AOE damage, no utility and no survivability.
the whole lower the damage ceiling approach in this patch is the wrong direction. we need to make imo magicka king of AOE and survivablity with a touch of utility and STD and stamina become king of STD and utility with a touch of the others. this would close the gap between the two and make them synergize better in group content.
Lets give some love to the unused morphs in the game so we can be more diverse in our builds.
