Housing (and Storage Options)

Does anybody know if the new "homestead" housing will come with already established inventory slot space?? for the price of the housing, i'm hoping to get something like 0/250 slots or 0/500 slots!

I'd just hate to spend another 40,000 gold for 10 more stupid spots at the bank, when our houses should come with pre-established slots.

No, this is just my opinion. It seems obvious though.

Housing has come with storage in MMO's for the last decade, so why isn't it there?

Answer: they haven't figured out how to monetize it yet.

as of today's date, there is zero storage, and zero spaces for storage in housing.

To be fair, they said they didn't have the time to add storage before homestead launched, not that they axe the idea entirely.

However, this means storage might be added in three months or maybe not till sometime after they add spellcrafting (no ETA).

Well.. They told me that with controller support. i originally purchased the game at launch, and waiting 1.6 months until i could play it..

Additionally, they told me when they launched the "craft bags" for ESO plus members, they would be giving me a nice "gold" credit for all the additional slots i had to buy at the bank to hold those crafting supplies.. i still haven't received any credit

Also, I find even with a maxed bank, and some maxed bags, I'm sometimes in need of more space given all the sets dropping after One Tamriel.

Well on the PTS, houses currently have zero storage slots. But I have it on good authority that they may double that between now and launch.

Nope. In fact, literally all the things I wanted out of housing are left out. A massively-expensive-in-terms-of-resources-and-time grind is in.

Doubling?! But that would increase our inventory all the way to zero! We would never find anything to fill that with!

This is most likely true.

I can't think of an MMORPG that DOESN'T have additional storage included with Housing, at least, I can't unless I think back to the mists of the beginning of the MMO genre...

And the whole line of "storage didn't make the cut" is crap. Sure, he actually said it, but any reasoning as to WHY storage in Housing didn't get added in, is crap.

The real answer is simple: They're coming up with a way to squeeze every dime possible out of Storage in Housing. They couldn't figure out a price tag for the additional storage in time, so "storage didn't make the cut"...

I'm actually less disappointed that I can't put things inside chests and cupboards than I am about not being able to decorate with them.

I'd love to be able to put a cool sword on the wall, or have a table with alchemy ingredients dotted on it next to the crafting station, or simply place all those weird bits and pieces I keep finding thoughtlessly abandoned in other people's houses.

I know they've said we will be able to place a few of the paintings we can find, but I'm disappointed we can't use all the other stuff too.

So what in the sam hell is the house suppose to have?? Don't tell me it's just a few crafting and potion making stations!

I did read that i'll be able to display my mementos! ohh goodie.. $49.99 to display a handful of worthless crap

They would monetise it just like they've monetised bag and bank upgrades, if it just expanded bank space.

Its more likely that they wanted a system that didnt just add more slots to the bank, but was more like a container system, like fillable chests. Which could be purchaseable on the crown store - again, no monetisation problems there.

Remember that making the housing editor will uave been a huge task, its essentially embedding a separate application inside the game. And much more advanced than in any other zenimax game (possible exception of DOOM, which i havent played).

Storage is comparatively a relatively simple system, but still not necessarily easy or quick...

I just watched a video preview of the multiple houses that will be available for purchase.... some go for over 1 million gold....WTF.. I've been playing this game for over a year and i don't think I've accumulated over 1 million gold yet!! And from the video, I still don't understand what I'm getting...

The video tour guide stated that "this particular house comes with 4 bedrooms"..WTF am i suppose to do with bedrooms!! your character can't sleep.. or store his armors/clothes in the closets... am i missing something here???

and it's not even crafting. ALL of the interactive crafting stations are behind the master writ wall. You can light/extinguish candles, sit in a few chairs, sink half a mll gold on achievement trophies. that's Homestead a la ZOS!

I suspect it will sadly; I really wish though it will be an attribute of the house itself just like how you can have N number of items in a house and Y number of people.

In my mind it should come with a minimum storage/base storage for each house as a part of the actual purchase. So an apartment might have a simple footlocker and a Manor a vault (great place to put your banker!). Then if you want more you buy additional chests et al..
