I wish they would allow 60 fps in 1080p...it makes bigger difference than 4k.

    Silly console peasants.
    Graphics are for PC

EDIT: for those of you wondering, the ESO Launcher thing is also sometimes called ESO graphics enhancer, or HOOK64. Link is here. http://tamrielfoundry.com/topic/eso-launcher-graphics-enhancer-2/
    SweetFX presets are here :
    https://sfx.thelazy.net/games/game/467/

It's so hilarious how the game doesn't Render a damn thing after a certain distance, even if it is in your view. Skyrim at least had low poly models of buildings and trees at a distance. You can brag about ESO on PC all you want, all it does is give you pretty close ups and nothing else.

Actually in Hook64 there is a setting that you can change that will render all high quality models at all distances. It will absolutely kill your fps though. So here are three examples: First one is default (small clolor enhancement with sweetfx in all of them):

Then the distance detail is turned up to crazy amount resulting in 20 fps, lol:

ps. For some reason there is a border vignette added to all the pictures. Not sure where that comes from but it is not present in the game, lol.

Now see, THAT is an environment worth paying for, and most likely something that could be done with Xbox's Scorpio system.

Maybe. The specs for that system are shockingly high for a console, looks to be roughly around a GTX 1070. I have a GTX 1060 and the fps dives down to 20fps when I set the render distance to some outrageously high number in hook64. It might be able to pull out 30+ with those kinds of specifications.

Interesting is the statements from Microsoft, talking about the end of "console generations" and "iterating with the hardware" . Sound like something familiar?

I believe Microsoft is finally trying to bridge the gap between the "Master Race" and Console gamers by giving us a powerful alternative system. Of course it's going to be incredibly expensive compared to the price a One is going for now, but it's a step toward giving gamers Console titles that are more on par with a PC experience.

I'm not fluent on the workings of computers and software n'such, but I know some to think the game still tanking on a card like yours is either because it doesn't like the Processor, or it's just badly optimized or whatever. Yes I know I sound like the goof that flunked Intro to Comp Science.

I re-uploaded the screenshots in the proper resolution , you can now see the actual difference ,
My personal opinion is that HDR looks AWESOME I love it on my TV :)

What's up with that HDR? I don't really get where it's coming from. Personally I like it quite a bit since I hate grey colours.

Which would be great if the fog was something like this:
    stock__norwegian_nature_1_by_riddlesolved.jpg

But the fog in ESO is way too dense and starts way too close to the camera. And it is constant in every single scene no matter the climate or time of day. The real reason they use so much fog is so they can save memory not having to render high quality level of detail in distant terrain. It keeps the minimum requirements down.

On topic. I love HDR, but I have to agree with others that for the pictures above it is simply too saturated a palette for my tastes. And I use sweetfx for an HDR-like effect also, so I enhance my color palette too.

I can't stand how arbitrary this wall of fog is. It also grays out all the colours, especially noticeable in indoor dungeons. The latter would look and feel a lot more gloomy without the fog. Personally I'd love to see a more sophisticated weather system added as an alternative to what we have currently. Just removing the fog is not the solution.

I spent 25 years as a computer engineer with a specializations in data center load balancing and server security, I have worked with Companies such as Turbine, Bioware, Arenanet, and Sony Online Entertainment as a contractor.

It's ridiculous to see these idiot 12 year old's ( or adults with the maturity of a 12 year old) spout this whole PC master race nonsense.

Oh and @Dantonian_Rarstiana People who actually understand how set up their systems don't really need script kiddie BS like sweetFx.

    Now moving on....

The Pro is quite an improvement I think, but I am really interested to see what Scorpio brings to the table. Of course my main area of interest from MS is are they going to keep their cross platform promise?

Please oh wise one with your 25 years experience working on wind turbines or whatever the hell you think I should have read abou, please enlighten us with how you correct the horrible blue shift in the game other than your nvidia/amd control panel color corrections (which will affect EVERYTHING not just the game, plus it doesn't have nearly as many options) or tweaking settings on your monitor which again, affects everything not just ESO and has way less options.

Please grace us with your wisdom on how you removed the in game fog that blankets everything and increased the object draw distance to something resembling a modern game, with your vast experience in "load balancing".
