Gaining enlightenment

I just arrived at Level 50 for my first character during the new life festival, so I'm starting to get CP, and also enlightenment. I know that I started out with 4.8m of enlightenment, and that I get a daily 400k top-off up to the 4.8m max. Is that every day whether I play or not, or is just just days that I play. Also is it only when I play level 50 chars that I get the 400k top-off?

I ask because my RL schedule allows me to play a lot during my 4 days off, and I can play almost none during my 3 work days...I'm also primarily playing my non-lvl50 chars in order to level them, but if I need to play a lvl 50 char to get the 400k, I can at least log in and check mail, do a couple writs etc...

It is a daily accumulation, regardless of logging in or characters played.

Every day you will get 400K enlightment added to your pool, up to the maximum stored of 4.8M. No matter if you play or not. If you play your Level-50ies, you will use it up, if you play your lowbie alts, you won't.
That "12 day accumulation" feature is -exactly- for people who cannot play daily, but then play more on their free days.

I always played my mains until enlightment was used up, then worked on my alts if I had daily playtime left... rinse, repeat next time one has playtime. Works neatly. Of course, back then we didn't have that nifty catchup mechanic, so you'll rake in the CP qasily enough I expect...

Enlightenment is something that you get every 24 hours. It accumulates even when you're offline, so you can go for days at a time without playing and come back to a nice long bonus. It does cap out eventually, so you have to play a bit now and then and use some enlightenment to gain more.

However, it does seem to be only for characters at Level 50. The Nightblade I just leveled didn't have enlightenment until hitting 50; the Templar I'm working on right now is only level 10 and also not enlightened.

It just adds 400k daily , regardless of playtime. It does cap off at 4.8 million though.

thanks to all for verifying what I thought but was uncertain of...that makes it easier for me to manage time-playing between days on/off and between my lvl50 & pre chars

Also enlightenment is per account so long as you have at least 1 lvl 50 you will earn it for your account and can use it up for any of the lvl 50's. Fun part of enlightenment is get to earn xp at 4* as fast so 100k normal xp will use up one days 400k enlightenment. Is always fun to express through some cp with it :>

I've never had a level 50 character I believe until today, and have over 4 Million XP saved in enlightenment. I am unsure though if my last 50 character was attained back when we still had the VR system though. I know I've *never* had a 50 when the CP system was added.

I don't know if things have changed since January, but my account is capping out at 1.2 million XP, not 4.8 million. It also does not appear that I am gaining 400K Enlightenment per day, but rather around 100K. This is when I perform the command line to retrieve the Enlightenment Pool.

Also, is there a reason why the command line has to be performed and there is not just a way to view Enlightenment online on a status screen?

400k a day capped out at 4.8mil. this is per account so multiple characters will not get multiple enlightenments. this is a big reaaon why you shouldnt grind cp as long as you play content, exp will come rather quickly

It's definitely 4.8 million as I actually reached it this week.

I don't know about you, but I check my enlightenment by opening the character screen and hovering over the "XP bar" on the top right corner. It will tell me how much enlightenment I have.

If you run the slash command /script d(GetEnlightenedPool()) you will see that this pool caps at 1.2 million after accumulating 100,000 XP per day for 12 days.

I would love to see it reach the alleged 4.8 million, but alas this has yet to happen.

Because enlightenment quadruples your incoming experience gains on a level 50, it wouldn't surprise me if that increase is already factored in to the values displayed. (Actually, I know it is, because I've kept track).

So, 1.2 million raw XP is correct, which will translate to 4.8 million earned when consuming it. You're querying the raw system data through the API, while the GUI displayed value is four times that, because it relays information to the player who will be chewing through the earned experience.

Makes sense?

1.2 million XP will have a 4X modifier, that's why you have 4.8 Million.

If you gain 100.000xp, you will get 400.000 instead due to enlightenment.
