Just got the expansions last week. What CP is a good recommendation to try normal maelstrom on a stam DK?

Yeah, did it on my new level 19 Stamblade, the title helps prevent some kicks from PUG Finder lol.

you can do normal maelstrom with 0 CP. If you were to start vet maelstrom then i'd say around 400+

If its your first time in there, any level 50 with a halfway decent build will do just fine in here. Normal MA is easy, perhaps too easy, as there is quite a large gap between normal and vet. It is definitely a good spot to get a grasp of basic game mechanics and play with your build. Vet is a different animal. I would encourage people to at least be at the gear CP cap with purple armor and gold weapons. I also encourage people to use a proven build for their first clear.

If you know the arena, you can really do it once you are about level 15. You could probably do it earlier, but having 2 bars is nice. A lot of people use it as a way to level alts.

There is a GIANT gap between normal and vet. I feel it does almost nothing to prepare you for the vet version.

The lower your level, the better the scaling works in your favor I think. It was noticeably easier at level 9-12 than 17-19, did it in two chunks for xp gains to change up the grind.

I fully believe others seeing a level 20 Maelstrom Arena "Champ" title in a dungeon shifts the prejudgments in my favor and saved me from a few kicks to quarter-hour purgatory.

Don't bother with normal, dive straight into vet. Trust me after your first run, you will be a much better player.

I hope you can complete it with any CP but I've done it at level 20 on all classes

Total I've completed it about 100-200 times literally on normal. It's just learning the rounds and balancing your character.

You should not start on Vet. Complete normal at least once.

You can do normal maelstrom in your sleep with 0 cps.

I was lvl 6 when started. Completed at lvl 9.

Yea, normal is all about learning the mechanics and how to beat certain boss.
Vet however is a test on your dps, rotations, skills, esp when my Templar is the worst dps class.

My friend went in at level 10 and completed it, although he was level 11 when he came out. He did have 561 CP, so I don't know how much that helped.

Only noobs use shards in vma, nothing but slow you down and they dont stun frost trolls or the last boss so waste of time. Execute range on these bosses is 200k. Radiant will still melt them, will still hit 40k ticks without issue.

Just finished the spider level. It was damn hard for me, not so much the mechanics but finding the spinners. Taking some time before i go back . Def pretty fun. Easiest was the ice i think besides the first one. I nailed the spinning blades too. spider one just a big PITA. Died like 12 times.

Ice to me is the chocking point, the mechanics of the troll breaking ice, left me fail boss round again and again. All other rounds once or twice through.

I run 2H/bow and as soon as i saw a troll just boom crit rush straight across the gap

I finished the place at lvl 13

the scalling of the game for lower levels are awesome

I found you can just about one shot the trolls with a heavy bow attack if it crits

Yea. I think i did tgat once or twice with snipe
