I feel bad - I voted to kick players

I've been using the group finder tool a lot lately because I am grinding gear, and I know my guild does not want to do the same dungeon over and over and over.

Well the other day, I grouped with 3 players ( two were low level ). We died at the first boss and I noticed someone dropped, and then another person dropped. Well at least that is what I thought had happened. I got a few pop-ups on my screen ( I wasn't really paying attention ) and just clicked OK. I thought the message was for finding a replacement, but it was a vote to kick someone.

After I, unintentionally, kicked 2 players. I received a message from one of them that said "You are so rude!". Those words have haunted me for the last few days, and I really feel bad. I have done many dungeons with low level players, sometimes we fail, and sometimes we win. However, I have never kicked anyone, except for this one time.

I just wanted to get that off chest, I really do feel bad for kicking them from the group. I will never vote to kick any more players because they are low level.

If you want a friend, get a dog.

this is a good start, a good place for us to begin to heal, and the healing process.
the real healing needs to come from zenimax tho, and simply remove the whole entire "KICK" from the option.
should not be able to do this to other human beings.
it feels terrible when it happens to you.

It is rarely seen on gaming forums that people admit their mistakes. This is good to read. I wouldn't feel too bad in the end though, you know you didn't do it on purpose. Just a mistake. Its human.

I was in the group finder yesterday, 1 guy went AFK, another went offline. Waited 5 minutes, and the CP138 DPS and I were fighting by ourselves in the dungeon. He put crown on me and I kicked the other 2. Soon, got replacements for them inside the group finder.

I gave those two ample enough time to come back. But sometimes things can happen IRL, so I just accepted the fact they had more important things they had to go do. It happens.

The important thing to me was making sure they had fair enough time to come back.

I used the Group Finder last night to run a random dungeon. Get a Dungeon and show up with 2 others who are already running the content, the 4th is no where to be found, but in group. So, I go along. These are all L40's or less in level, I am CP701. Lets skip over all the mechanics that were being ignored, and I think the tank was tanking, but the healer certainly was not healing. The 4th shows up after we take out the first boss. Anyway, we get to the end of the dungeon and complete it. Then a Vote to Kick happens to one of the other players. I thought that was weird, so I said no, then I left the group as were finished.

Not a great run, but not a bad run. Just not sure why a Vote to Kick happened after it was all over, unless they were trying out the feature as I am not sure if these players had really done a Group Dungeon before, at least in the classic sense.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

It was a mistake and not intentional so I think most people will understand. I know that you go out of your way to help others in the guild so it's not in your nature to hurt someone. So just keep up the great work you are doing with the guild and have fun :)

It's okay, you are not rude, you just were not paying attention. It happens. The person who was kicked couldn't have known that you were not paying attention, that's all.

A few times while leveling alts, I got into grind areas while trying to do the quests and accidentally pulled one or two enemies on the way, which made the grinders angry. I wasn't trying to disrupt their grind, I was just trying to do the quests and since I did them before I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

It's an easy mistake to make and one I've made myself before. I actually made a thread about this while back as I imagine a significant number of vote kicks are done by accident with other players mistaking it for a ready check or just not paying attention.

They need to add a double check feature that makes sure the player knows what he or she is clicking to do before anyone is kicked because of it. That would help avert accidents.

I have no issue kicking people that have jumped the queue by choosing a role that they aren't.

I'm looking at you, the supposed 'tank' that was really a dps in light armor robes and did nothing more than spam bow light attacks the whole time. The one I let die, squashed like a bug by the murklight.

If people fail at their selected roles, whats the problem with kicking?

I sure don't lose any sleep over it.

I sure hope this wasn't a Normal dungeon. Those are pretty breezy.

Only problem I see here is the autopilot kick; If people aren't doing their job I don't see a huge problem with replacing them, though ideally I'd talk to them first.

    Sometimes they deserve it.

I will start a vote for players that do not communicate in anyway with the group if their behavior needs explaining and they don't For example:

Me: "Healz, why aren't you healing?"
    nothing
work way to and through another boss
Me: "Healz, why aren't you healing? Why aren't you rezzing? We will need you healing on final boss. Show us that you are able to do this."
    no response

At this point I'll give up, but if we wipe on the final boss that healer is toast.

I had another guy that kept hitting hard mode scroll on a final boss. I told group whoever is hitting that scroll needs to stop. We've wiped 3 times and this group isn't up to it. So this clown goes over and hits it right in front of me after 3rd wipe. Time for a vote!

I have some bad experiences with vote to kick-system.

It was one time doing the vet dungeon that is on little island AD-territory(can't remember its name). I was playing dps, and I can honestly say that I pretty much carried the whole group through those bosses.

Our tank was just horrible. He used dual wield, and didn't use any taunt-skills. So bosses kept attacking me and the other dps. I suggested that we should kick tank cause we just weren't able to beat dungeon when he didn't use taunt. But then tank said that reason why I blame him must be cause I am the real quilty for our group dying all the time. Then the rest of the group just said that:"Yeah, tank has good point", And they kicked me.

After that I just were sitting on my couch, staring screen for ten minutes, and trying to realise what just happened. Then I closed the app went outside and didn't play eso for two weeks.

Sorry that happened to you Emily. It was an accident so no harm done.

I really don't use the vote kick feature that much---mostly online folks who don't come back (after ample time waiting) or if someone was being incredibly rude/abusive in a dungeon. If I see that we simply aren't going to complete a dungeon, I will leave the group and take the 15 minute penalty. No use getting into altercations with people, especially if the group is trying. Now if a healer or tank simply aren't doing their job---like no healing at all or absolutely no taunting, then I would go for a kick.

The problem with kicking is that it is abrupt, and rude.

I've been kicked once, and it really wasn't necessary. All someone would have had to do was say, "You're not playing this right. Can you drop, so we can get someone more experienced?"

I would have no problem with that.

But to just be notified you've been kicked, with no dialogue is BS.

    Don't do it.

As a max CP tank or healer, if I join a Vet dungeon, I will kick a player if they are less than 100 CP. I'm sorry but in my opinion, players should at least be CP 160 (which means they are probably wearing CP 160 gear) before they do Vet dungeons.

Then you are missing out on playing with some really great players.

I frequently do veteran dungeons with players who are under 160 CP who do very well. Better in fact than many other players who have much higher CP levels.

I commented to a tank, who was in high double digits, that maybe he wasn't ready for vet lvl. He said, "Watch." Then after the first boss, "How did I do? ; )"

He tanked that and the next vet dungeon with no problem.

At least give the lower lvl player a chance before you just assume they're not capable.

Then if you find they aren't, I suggest you politely ask them to drop, rather than just boot them.
