two quick suggestions:
- reply to a guild invite in-game chat. usually all you have to do is whisper the poster to get invited.
- comment in one of the many guild recruitment forum posts. List your in-game name for example:

At the main menu before you start any games, it should display your gamer tag in the very top left corner. It will also have your gamer score next to it
