I remember when we thought monster helms would cost a million.
Housing is far less useful honestly.
I suspect they won't be expensive but you will spend gold on decking them out.
Considering the best house in Skyrim (Proudspire Manor in my opinion) cost 25 000 gold. And the smallest one (Breezehome) cost 5 000 gold. I think we will see something like that when housing is released. Though considering all features housing has the price might be higher. I dont think Zenimax will put some outrages prices on a house, they know we will just complain a lot if they do. However if they do then perhaps its to encourage saving up and being careful with your gold. But Im at least hopeful the prices of different houses will be similar to how it was in Skyrim.
I doubt it will cost millions. I know some people are that rich but the majority of the players are not.
If I'm not wrong, there won't be a Crown Houses, but only Crown Decoratives which will be unique and not obtainable through craft or game. Anyway I don't think ZOS will request tons of ingame gold for best houses cuz actually they won't get profit of this. I think they will price best houses with big numbers but still available to get by everyone in game. If best houses would not be available for any of us people won't buy Crown decoratives so ZOS won't get profit with real money.
ZoS is hell bent on milking this cash cow until the farm closes. Don't act so surprised.
What was that Elk mount? $30? That's Fallout 4 or Witcher 3 price. You could buy a whole new game for the price of a new reskinned pony that took someone a day to create
Oh, and this a few days before Christmas, when stuff usually goes on sale. This is the direction the game is going. Two, three more years tops and it's closing its doors.

i sub to and have plenty of crowns it does not mean i support this business choice witch forces people to hand over money for anything decent

For those players that have bin in merch guild since day one or bin saving that will be the only ones who can actually buy a house and ZOS knows this. Witch is why im betting 90% of all player base will have to get there house threw crown store. I hate this i think its greedy but ZOS wants your money. In the end housing will be nothing more then another crown store item but they will be able to say no we offered in game to you just only need 5 mil plus gold to get a small house. In my opinion just the first step in the free to play agenda. Make it so you can get it in game but have almost impossible price or drops then offer in store for reasonable price. Almost every free to play game does this and we all know it

The economy in Skyrim and the economy in ESO is completely different. It was rather easy to get gold in Skyrim but not as easy as it is to get it in ESO. Im currently sitting on 400k gold that Ive casually put together over the last month (when I say casually I mean 1-4k from 3 or 4 characters doing dailies and the New Life Festival, mostly on my days off. The rest from the occasional Guild Trader sale). If I had the time on my hands and the interest I could triple that in a fraction of that time.
