Housing Cost

I have no doubt in my mind that housing will cost millions on top of millions of gold. For those players that have bin in merch guild since day one or bin saving that will be the only ones who can actually buy a house and ZOS knows this. Witch is why im betting 90% of all player base will have to get there house threw crown store. I hate this i think its greedy but ZOS wants your money. In the end housing will be nothing more then another crown store item but they will be able to say no we offered in game to you just only need 5 mil plus gold to get a small house. In my opinion just the first step in the free to play agenda. Make it so you can get it in game but have almost impossible price or drops then offer in store for reasonable price. Almost every free to play game does this and we all know it :/

I expect 5k crowns for a simple mud house.
Castle Whale would cost about 50k crowns.

I remember when we thought monster helms would cost a million.
Housing is far less useful honestly.
I suspect they won't be expensive but you will spend gold on decking them out.

As much as I hope your right housing is wanted my many people and zos knows this, if they will charge 4500 crowns for a mount (elk) I imagine a great bunch more for a house in game that we will spend hours working on. and for gold cost I'm going off things like ap from pvp 100,000+ ap for good akaviri motifs and that's per page this is an entire house i expect 5 mil fore decent home if not more cuss of furnishings

Considering the best house in Skyrim (Proudspire Manor in my opinion) cost 25 000 gold. And the smallest one (Breezehome) cost 5 000 gold. I think we will see something like that when housing is released. Though considering all features housing has the price might be higher. I dont think Zenimax will put some outrages prices on a house, they know we will just complain a lot if they do. However if they do then perhaps its to encourage saving up and being careful with your gold. But Im at least hopeful the prices of different houses will be similar to how it was in Skyrim.

I doubt it will cost millions. I know some people are that rich but the majority of the players are not.

Considering the low value of usefullness, I don't think they'll cost more than a million gold. I'm saving up this much, just in case. I'm actually using this as an incentive to save up money. If they happen to be rather cheap, I'll have enough money to get some more bank and bag space.

If I'm not wrong, there won't be a Crown Houses, but only Crown Decoratives which will be unique and not obtainable through craft or game. Anyway I don't think ZOS will request tons of ingame gold for best houses cuz actually they won't get profit of this. I think they will price best houses with big numbers but still available to get by everyone in game. If best houses would not be available for any of us people won't buy Crown decoratives so ZOS won't get profit with real money.

I don't think the gold cost of housing will be really high. Even the large houses will be priced where most players see it as a realistic amount to save up. What most players probably wont be able to do is buy ALL the houses with gold.

Who's going to want to live in a small, medium or large house anyway when you can live in a crown store exclusive extra large castle?

ZoS is hell bent on milking this cash cow until the farm closes. Don't act so surprised.

What was that Elk mount? $30? That's Fallout 4 or Witcher 3 price. You could buy a whole new game for the price of a new reskinned pony that took someone a day to create ;)

Oh, and this a few days before Christmas, when stuff usually goes on sale. This is the direction the game is going. Two, three more years tops and it's closing its doors.

ZOS doesn't want you to spend gold decking them out. They want you to spend crowns. Crowns to get them (beyond the initial one) and crowns to decorate them.

The last mount (the elk like thing) was what - 4500? Just for a mount. And people bought it. People bought motifs which require future crown store purchases to continue crafting.

Crown store sales on things like this will set the watermark for crown pricing on housing and housing related stuff. We as crown consumers are the masters of our own destiny.

The good thing is that it seems as long as people are willing to spend their money on cosmetic stuff and lockboxes, ZOS is willing to release base content for free. Which I think is fantastic! And believe me, I spend in the crown store. Just not on overpriced stuff and motifs that require me to spend more crowns to make use of them.

Making the houses too expensive would be illogical.

The real income from housing will come from crown furnitures, and they would want to make sure that as many players as possible are in possesion of a property.

The larger the property, the more room for crown furnitures.

I hope everyone expressing all these opinions, wishes, etc. will get on the PTS and give meaningful feedback. I am planning on doing this for no other reason than knowing I did. I'm not confident that my opinions will make a difference but there's always "a small chance of..." LOL how silly the whole RNG thing really is.

Send me 100k gold and I will make it grow by 10x in 1 month

***This is a ponzi scheme . . . Do not actually send me the gold***

Unless you really want to, in that case, let me assure you that my dedicated team of Goblin investment bankers will work around the clock to insure you get maximum return on your investment.

Here's a rundown of our investment strategies:
-Buyout those hideous goblin tribe shanty towns and replace them with high end Aldmeri housing units
-Money will be diverted to the Argonian slave trade again . . . but you didn't here that from me
-Keep challenging players to duels in front of profitable guild traders every week until we force them to pay 100k so we leave them alone
-Form gigantic groups of 25 characters to destroy everything in every zone and then take the gold from gear sales and bank it . . .

Have other suggestions? Let me know

I think it's the newer players trying to play catch up who are more likely to spend rather than part with gold.
As 20000 to them is a lot of work. I just bought two new players a horse. They have been playing for 2 and a half weeks level 40 ish and stil didn't have 10000 to spare. There are your crown house buyers. We like game but are low and need to spend in game money to get better gear etc. after allI think ist 40 houses all up? ( I can't remember the number) they cant be too expensive.

Then the other group are people like me I have 13000 crowns - after buying the deer ..why did I buy it.... because I have too many crowns! I bought them in a sale after DB sometime months ago, plus a sub.this Means I have lots from when I thought there would be more stuff ( not crates I don't care if others get them. I just won't spend my crowns on it )

I object to buying more crowns despite sales untill new content is released. I think I'm also not the only player with that sentiment I.e have exsisting crowns they might as well part with, but untill new content just won't get more. ZOS needs us to use ours up to make more money, by getting us to part with what we have before desirable content comes out. Alot of the people I know who bought crates did it because they had crowns just sitting there. I think that ZOS are aware of the sentiment of the player base on the spending, crown crates lack of content in general and would be stupid to agrivate the base too much on a "base game" item .
and besides they can't sell it for more than the gold sellers charge, or they won't make anything :D

I see your point. And yes it can be relatively easy to get gold in ESO. I suppose I failed to take that into account. That can be a reason for housing to actually cost a bit. But I still doubt it will cost millions or any absurd amount of gold.
