Are 3 Infallible Aether jewelry better than 3 Willpower jewelry? Or the IA has bug?

Are 3 Infallible Aether jewelry better than 3 Willpower jewelry? I used my magicka Templar Jab to test dps number in vet dungeon. I found the dps number are almost the same, and at most time, willpower dps number is higher than IA. I am sure I got the 3 IA buff cuz I can see it in my character status.

If not in dungeon, willpower dps number is absolutely higher than IA.

I heared there was a IA Minor Slayer buff bug before. PPL said it's fixed in PC. I don't know if it has been fixed in XBOX, or not?

Basically I don't use aether on templar or nightblade because sweeps, radiant, impale and merciless don't scale well with it. Although almost every end game raider playing these classes uses aether so I think the difference isn't much.

Anything that doesn't have a percentage modifier,- for typical templar dps that means reflective light, blazing spear, wall of elements, burning light procs, meteor, destro ult, dark flare, trap beast. Iirc (tired might be missing or not remembering things correctly )
It's not the end of the world i think it's 4% rather than 5% for sweeps

So, IA jewelry is only good for healer? What jewelry are you using on your templar or nightblade?

Interesting topic considering the recent info on proc sets.

One thing to consider now is that IA's 2-piece is Spell crit. Proc sets will no longer crit in U13.

This means that Willpower will fully benefit procs, whereas those 3 pieces of IA will *only* give 5% damage to procs.

Atm, I would stick to IA personally because it's Gold. The DPS difference is extremely minor. Next patch Willpower may become better on many builds (especially those with proc sets).

I did some analysis on a guild forum a while ago - I'll post a summary of results and my conclusions - if anyone wants the full info then I'll happily post that too, but:

Summary of Results

Without Minor Berserk or an execute bonus, IA gives about 0.2% more damage, this increases a little (0.63%) in the first 8 seconds of a war horn, before decreasing to 0.28% for the rest of the war horn

With Minor Berserk (from Combat Prayer/Grim Focus), WP gives 0.16% more damage; IA gives slightly more (0.28%) for the first 8 seconds of a war horn; WP gives 0.07% more damage for the other 22 seconds of War Horn

When using a +300% execute ability and Minor Berserk, WP gives about 3% more damage both with and without a war horn

Conclusions

The damage bonus from IA is a maximum of 0.63%, which occurs during the first 8 seconds of a War Horn

If you have Minor Berserk up for a reasonable percentage of the fight (i.e. if your healers are buffing you with Combat Prayer, or if you're a NB using Grim Focus/Morphs [you should be!]), then WP will provide slightly more damage over the full fight

If you have an execute (NB, Magplar, Magsorc) then WP will provide more damage overall

---

3x Purple Arcane WP provides ~1905 more max magicka than 3x Arcane (duh) Gold IA, which will also help with resource management

Allowing for the non-crit proc set change is a bit fiddly in calculation, but given the already minuscule differences, it's probably a safe bet to say that with no Minor Berserk/execute then the difference will be ~0, perhaps a tiny amount in favour of WP; with either of these bonuses then I expect WP will come out on top.

IA will still be better for proc sets though. Spell damage and max magika don't affect them at all, but it'll still do 5% more damage. I'd rather a flat out 5% boost than 1.4 magika and a bit of spell damage.

The question is what you use in addition. On a Templar you could go with 5 IA on DW bar (even better 5 Moondancer) or 3 Aether jewelry + willpower swords. If you go with 3 willpower jewels you need something like Torugs pact swords, that just give a normal spell dmg Bonus instead of a 1.5 times magicka Bonus compared to willpower swords.
