ESO Drop rates suggestion

Hello,
I've got suggestions for fixing drop rates:

Dungeons/Trials: I've been grinding Blackheart Haven for a while now looking for a Knight Errant's sword. I've run more than 10 times and still no sword, and I know some people have run up to 45 times to try and get a weapon from a dungeon and only got it on a 50th attempt. Imagine having to do that for a vet trial or vet Dragonstar Arena.

ZOS. This needs to be fixed. I like how there is a guaranteed drop rate of a weapon from the last boss in a dungeon, but sometimes it drops a jewellery piece that's not useful to anyone. Second or third bosses in dungeons should drop jewellery pieces. I think that final bosses in dungeons shouldn't drop jewellery and only weapons. Another cool idea would be if the boss drops a sword, a shield drops with it as well. If it drops a dagger, another dagger drops with it as well.

I'd like to thank code65536 for providing these stats for One Tamriel.

From 1 dungeon run
Belts, hands, feet, and shoulders are a 1 in 32 chance of getting a specific piece.

Chest, legs and head have a 1 in 36 drop chance.

Jewellery has a 1 in 12 chance to drop

Weapons and shields have a 1 in 624 chance to drop!!!!

As you can see, the drop rates are clearly broken. Why do weapons need to be such a low chance of dropping? Is that to maximize the use of DSA and VMA weapons? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of making a build that is accustomed to your playstyle?.

Anyway, appreciate the work that you've done ZOS, but please fix these rates.

That doesn't mean anything needs to be fixed, it means you're unlucky. I've deconstructed that sword many times. Things in multi-player games shouldn't be easy to get, even if that means repeating content. It's laughable how easy it is to get gear these days. You can walk away with a full 5pc set from a single dungeon run sometimes, that's crazy in my opinion .. and bosses having 100% drop chance is also absurd. But I understand you're unhappy you didn't get what you want, when you wanted it.

Agreed on how I don't expect the grind to be instant, but I wouldn't like the grind to be that long. I understand some hardcore players don't care about drop rates but for casuals it's really bad. If you mean that a body 5pc can be found within 1-2 runs then yes you're right. Weapons are a absolute pain to get.

I definitely agree that dungeon drop rates need to be drastically looked at, and the drops should be the same for normal and veteran. Exclusivity only hurts ESO's profitability, after all. It's ridiculous. It's one of the things that's hurting ESO right now, whenever you keep anything behind a wall, you're going to alienate and lose customers. This is why paywalls in general haven't been too successful. It's not a great way to do things.

Trials, though? Eh. Those are there to keep the people addicted to grind-grind-grind-grinding happy. If you change that, they snap out of their stupor and get angry. Every MMO has a tiny patch of content for both grinders and PvPers. It's sadly just the way of things.

Trials are very grindy, but it's an enjoyable grind. All drop rates should be at least improved to remove prosperous and training in trials as since trials gear is such high standard people don't want training or prosperous on them.

But this just means your lucky, I've also run dungeons repeatedly, and I'm talking about the entire group isn't getting anything worth keeping.the only reason to instill this kind of mechanic is because development lacks ideas and creativity.

I'm still astonished that in 14 runs none of my four group members have got the weapon I want.

    14x3=42

At least 42 drop chances gone

Ok so let's check if you were lucky or he was unlucky. Plotting the drop chances and assuming your group would trade the weapon to you the chance of having the weapon in the desired trait after N runs is given by the blue line:

    RNG_Math_Dung.png

For more details about the calculations check this thread:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/305700/math-of-rng-problems-suggestions

You can clearly see that there is approximately a 6.5% chance to have the desired weapon after 10 runs. So if you had multiple of them then congratulations. You belong to a lucky <10% minority in this case.
The RNG in this game needs to be looked at, especially for the set weapons, since there are so many weapons plus traits and they only drop with a 50% chance per run.
