Impenatrable vs divines vs infused?, Mag Sorc for Duels

What trait should i use? asumming is mainly for duels, and that i am using a lot hardened ward for defence.

If you get to around 1500 crit resist (25% or so) you can get up most of the time after being knocked down if you're quick about it.

Many people here will tell you to run all divines on small instead of impe , and that's a valid opinion too. But I respectfully disagree with it, you can't keep shields up 24/7. And I've barely survived/won too many duels to swap out this impen.

For open PVP, I can't remember the last time I was two shot ganked and it DIDNT involve two or three nightblades (nothing you can do about that).

I duel a decent amount but mainly with friends. We are all fairly decent with a few over the top people who duel all day. They will break you shields and they will touch your skin lol. 1 incap with no inpen will hit 11-17k. With inpen 7-13. After trying all infused gear it was frustrating when I would get 1 shot with my shields down. Merciless Resolve hit me for 19k. I went big infused small inpen till about 2000. Now they bring me to the verge of death but don't kill me. I'm able to recover. Unless your perfect at keeping shields up all infused won't do too well with the proc meta. Maybe someone else prefers differently but Shields will only protect from 2/3 procs. Veli/Viper shields down 15k Incap incoming.

I go with infused big divines small, you only benefit from impen when your shields are down which isn't going to be often.

I do quite well in duels slotting on impen on my gloves to mitagate any damage I take if something happens and my ward isn't up. Better safe than sorry

Srsly that one extra divines piece isn't gonna be the deciding factor, but rather your skill choices, matchup knowledge, and animation cancelling prowess.

You can't kill a sorc by just breaking their shields, you have to remove all their health too, about 20k of it. This is why I don't buy the whole "shields can't be crit, impen is useless for sorcs" argument. By not wearing impen you're just making it easier for people to burst you down.

Yep. And that is especially nowadays the case, when proc Sets force you to go heavy Armor + end up with up to 20-25k Health to avoid one shots.

Every time you die as a sorcerer, your low health and lack of impen mattered.

^^Yeah I agree. run one impen and have two heavy maybe instead of 5-1-1. Put points into juggernaut and make sure you animation cancel so you are free to block between attacks.

Jkjk, I actually agree with you. I see the logic of impen but only occasionally use it with one specific setup. i rarely if ever lose duels. those wards are so cheap, no reason they should be down,

and honestly, if they are down and you die, it's your fault for not casting it sooner...the odds of someone one shotting you through a 35k ward and 17k health is zero. More important is to ward up again and dps to get health back.

Second, who the @$!# has wards up out of combat anymore?

Im trying a version of @Thelon 's bubonic build 30k health and wards in HA does pretty good and slowin the burst.
