Can you heal normal dungeons with a half healer build ( queue avoiding tactics reloaded )

As the topic says, i don't have a lot of time to play, but i like doing the odd dungeon while slowly leveling, but these queue's, by the time they pop i may not have enough time to do the actual dungeon.... Now i am not a pro healer, but i have played most of the big MMO's out there for years and years , casually, and i have a decent grasp on healing/tanking/etc concepts.

Can i heal stuff in normals with just some skills from the resto staff ( i play a magicka sorc ) ? It would be good to find out without having ppl curse me IG for my crazy ideas.

Cheers

Should be fine with resto staff
My mate is a mag sorc and uses combat prayer, rapid regen and healing springs on his back bar but mainly DPS.
My Templar tank has cleansing ritual. with Breath of life as a back up heals.
Works fine on the normal dungeons.
Easy way to PUG for 2 x DDs on daily pledges.

If you are talking Normal and you are Vet 16, you just need 4 DPS who can self heal. They can be solo'd for the most part.

Depends too much on group. I healed a vet dungeon on my mag NB using NB abilities and had trouble keeping group alive in normal dungeon using a resto staff. When I did randoms I would just have both bars, if good group I would stay on NB siphon/dps bar, if bad group I would stay on resto bar most of the time.

Back bar healing, just use a resto with springs, steadfast ward, and rapid regen. You are now better than a fair amount of healers.

You can heal normal and vet dungeons with just Healing Springs if you pay attention and cater to mechanics. All normal dungeons and most veteran dungeons can be done without a healer at all, but that of course assumes your dps (and tank, if you have one) have some semblance of survivability, like not standing in red circles and an occasional Vigor, Ward, or dodge-roll.

On the other hand, it's also very easy to afford dps as a healer without changing much. It's often times as simple as using Wall of Elements and channeling heavy attacks with a lightning staff. An AoE or single-target DoT here and there, and execute from time to time, etc. is all it takes to contribute a respectable amount of dps to a group that (for whatever reason) thinks that's your job and not theirs.

My dedicated healer runs mostly AoE dps on her fire staff bar. It has helped carry a lot of low dps groups. She typically heals boss fights (with buffs, heavy restoration attacks, and always wall of elements, plus the destruction ultimate unless dps is high enough that Warhorn is better) with dps & healing springs in trash mobs (if tank doesn't have aggro either I do or the trash dies too fast for it to matter). DLC veteran dungeons of course are a different animal and require more focused healing.

My lowby Templar healed a two-man run of Spindleclutch I with my husband's lowby shield-less sorcerer, both lvl 14. She kept Lingering Ritual up for each fight, and the occasional Breath of Life (usually accidentally, thinking I had unlocked Wall of Elements for that button but not leveled enough yet). My husband and I both know the dungeon very well, though, with lots of Champion Points, and of course it wasn't veteran. So your mileage may vary.
Why be normal when you can be better?

To answer your question: yes - it's very possible. But it's going to depend widely on your group on how difficult they are to heal.

Some groups need a dedicated healer with powerful regen and burst healing (or wards) to keep them alive. Other groups don't.

Add barrier and combat prayer. When I heal normal dungeons with the magicka nb I focus on damage and simply pay attention. If someone needs healing I heal them up. If you know the dungeons it is usually easier to learn when to spam springs and mutagen, then return to burning
