I love the ESO books, but I hate the sheer number of raw copies there are.

Thankfully, Eidetic Memory lets me speed through them when I'm doing content and read them at my leisure..

There is a book in Reaper's March on Calligraphy that was a fantastic read. (Tied to a quest)

I try to read the majority of the books, sometimes I am in a rush and can't get around to it but 85%-90% of the time I do.

No. Between you and I, I don't even know why I check books anymore. It used to be for Mage's Guild when I first started the game...but uh... I maxed Mage's Guild like 2 years ago.... the habit of always checking never went away and well.... 1500 books later.... here I am.

Unless they are related to the quest I am doing, nope, I do not read the books. I didn't read them either in Oblivion, Skyrim... I love the lore but when I play I don't want to spend time reading the books. However if I am bored I go to the website mentioned above and I randomly read some

Only if it helps solve a puzzle.

Yes.. this, but big kudos on Bethesda/developers on their time and efforts in putting the writing and details down on all those books. That was lots of work there.

I only read The Lusty Agronian Maid and was disappointed because there were no pictures.

I've read most books I found about the khajiit, but if it is about something else I will read it if it seems like something interesting.

If I can willingly spent gaming time on reading books, I might as well read a book in real life.

I play ESO to be amused, what the entire point of a game is, of course. Books are nothing more than emergency fun to me. You know, the kind of fun when you're riding the bus or when there's no electricity and there's nothing better to do.
However, when I'm online, I can go on quests, farm materials (for crafting or money), go pvp, ... Things that are fun for me. I'm not a fast reader, not all books are interesting, and they don't help me progress in the game at all. Except lorebooks for the mages guild skill line, but reading is optional. So they only rob me of precious gaming time.

I only make two exceptions for reading:
    • The lusty argonian maid (naturally)
    • When a quests tells me to read a book or note.

It would be good if they would allow you to choose to save the books you find on your local memory, and that you can read them on the login menu, while you're waiting for a maintenance to be done.

What is this "reeding" you speak of?

Seriously, I never do. Limited play time and too many characters will do that to you. Plus, half the time I'm on the treadmill while playing so that makes it even more difficult to read.

    Yeah, I read books.

I used to read them thoroughly when I found them, as long as there wasn't something trying to wail on me at the time. Since I got Eidetic Memory, I'm more likely to just register the books and tell myself I'll go back to read them later when I'm not in the middle of something.

Never read any books or even glance at them , and I never listen to the NCP dialog during quest or what have you. I just skip right through all of that. I have no idea what the war is about and all that other lore stuff.

I read them in Oblivion and Skyrim but there is SO much to do having 9 characters and OCD that says they must all complete every achievement so I only read them occasionally.

I read the ones in Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim.

But in ESO. I do not.

Reason being is that in Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, I feel that I may be able to get clues to were a secret artifact/weapon etc is located, and the lore is interesting, I feel more attached to my character and the world.

In ESO, I feel rushed, gotta rush to lvl 50, gotta rush to 561 CP, gotta rush to get best gear, gotta rush this and that. Lorebooks and bookshelves? serve no purpose than to give me a skill up in something or help with mages guild.
I feel the lore lacking in this game, because all the nice items are from farming dungeons trails etc.

Trails? Cant join unless you have over 20k dps
PvP? Cant join unless you have 561 CP.

Rush rush rush for my gear
Rush rush rush for my CP

No time to waste at looking at pointless lorebooks and bookshelves, that serve no purpose other than giving you a skillup.

If I have not read them in past TES games, I read them in this game.

If you want to know what is going on in the world of Tamriel, and more importantly, Why, then you need to read the books.

Besides, with rare exceptions, it's less text than most forum posts that try to explain something.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
