My Khajiit has a gem on his forehead...

Umm....Why? This wasn't there when I created him. I just came back to the game after a few months. And my Khajiit has this odd looking gem on his forehead. I tried messing with the Hide Helmet option, changing costumes. Nothing works. I don't want this here, it was NOT there when I first created him. And I reeeeaaally don't want to spend 1000 Crowns just to remove it, IF that will even fix it.

Do you remember adding the nose ring? The gem is part of that accessory.

You might not have noticed back then for some reason.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Nose ring. Yes. I'm very picky with what my characters look like. And I always double/triple check everything before I actually finish. I never would have picked the nose ring if it came with that gem.

Also, was that a recent change? It's possible the gem was added as part of the nose ring after I made the character. So at the time, the gem wasn't there, but added on later as part of the set?

That type of adornment has been in the game ever since the beginning. I found it a bit odd how you missed it, so I went and checked and, yeah, it's there. And it's pretty noticeable. Tough luck if you don't like it, but it's not as bad, really, and also has a cultural meaning to the Khajit. Also, Khajit do not have nose rights without those gems.

Also, it's not like it's just flying on the fur, it's likely tied to it. Anyways, you're level 12. You can always recreate your character or simply enable headgear to hide it.

this link has a forum post from ZOS employee Jessica Folsom

so perhaps this gem is an improvement! or at least what they consider one....

It's the same set, but it costs 1000 Crowns. I never bought that...I made this character before you could even buy appearance sets like that.

It is there. I went to create a new character to see. And it's there. But it wasn't when I first created him. Also, Khajiit DO have a nose ring without that gem, but it's not a full ring, more of a spike. Don't really like it.

No. This has been in the game since forever.

This adornment, however, is also a part of the "Adornment pack" that you can get on crown store for 1000 crowns. If you buy it you can equip any kind of adornment (that was included in the pack, even this one) on your character without the need of buying appearance change tokens or, worse, recreating a character in order to get rid of it.

Sorry. But it obviously wasn't. As I said. I never would have went with that look if it was there. It's pug fugly. I would have not taken the ring at all if it came with the extras.

I have to head to work. But after I get home, I'm going to find out where/when this was changed.

As others noted, your avatar is a mere level 12; you can get to that level so quickly, just re-roll him.

Additionally, as a Nightblade, what build are you intending that requires such an odd split of your attribute points? Hybrids can work but usually I do not see players investing in all three lines, unless the split showen is all you intend, with the rest into either stamina or magicka.

Even Werewolf bites are easy to obtain now, so should be little worries there too.

For one. Even if I DO re-roll, which isn't the issue here. I won't be able to make the character as I wanted him. If I take the nose ring, I get the gem. So sure, I can re-roll, but I won't get that same look.

Second. I could not care less about my stats -_- my main is a Bowplar that heals. I don't plan to run any serious content, I play 100% for fun. I enjoy my characters.

actually it was, my FIRST character in beta was khajiit (all i ever play) and the nose ring has that god forsaken gem on it. No clue why and i hated it but it has allways been there.

Look people make mistakes like this, things are easily overlooked and honestly it's a very small thing, you only think it's incredibly noticeable now that you've noticed it. In the moment it could have been very easily overlooked. Crap happens.

What I suggest, either try to live with it, try to see if any of the hairstyles can cover it up (if you've purchased access to them), or if it's THAT much of an annoyance, spend the $10 on an Appearance change token.

It's not "very small". The moment I saw him on character select, I saw it. I did NOT overlook this, because it was not there. I think it's hideous, and never would have used it. I made the mistake of messing up my main character. So I made sure to take extra time, and look over everything VERY carefully.

It's obvious you have a lot of time and money invested in this character, with that high level and maxed out riding skills.
But if you are able to maybe go through that whole process again, you could easily change the appearance once again.

Yes I know it's a lot to ask, a whole 10 min probably, but it will solve this extremely important and game breaking problem.

    3. Buy adornment pack and use a different adornment

I might have had found solution for OP's troubles.
@Sogreth, if you purchase cosmetic pack : Adorntments for 1000 crowns, you will get several types of customization options. Under tab named Jewelry, there is an option that removes all jewelry from your character. I know 1000 crowns for something you didn't do to yourself is not a great solution, but it does solve your problem. Your khajiit will have no more gem on its forehead, and also that nose will lose its jewel.
If you decide to keep nose jewel, there are seweral of these that might override the pack (jewel + bullet in the forehead) that your khajiit has right now. Best of luck.
