They said "RNG lockboxes."
TECHNICALLY they aren't lockboxes
But they did introduce RNG boxes . Am I really getting put in a corner over semantics ?
Believe me that's not me putting you in a corner
The thing is, had they said "definitely not" then that's a concrete answer. If you say "I have no plans ..." then that leaves wiggle room. For example, I had no plans to be ill this week. However I've been sick for 3 days now with some kind of cold like virus.
No plans is not a concrete no.
I'll be sure to bring my lawyer next time I casually read gaming sub Reddit .
Oh come on let's not be so formal. Life is filled with technicalities. It's what makes life so unpredictable!
I prefer people's yes to mean yes and no's to mean no . All other English was written by liars .

I get that, I truly do. But the world isn't just black and white, yes or no, good and evil, there's a whole spectrum of grey areas between.
Because plans change, life takes a different course, not everything is able to be concrete. Go out and enjoy the middle ground sometime. I find these days there's far too much inflexibility and you have to be either a yes or a no. With us or against us. That kind of thing.
But I digress, we do seem to have gotten off topic a little!

It was Richard Lambert.
Yeah, he said that to some whiner who interrupted a unexpected Q&A between him and the community here on the forums with his rants.
That got a +1 from me

My Mother would give you a quarter portion at the dinner table for saying that . Just enough to keep you alive another day . She would also give the stare of shame while you ate . Women are to be honored my friend . Those are Our moms and sisters .

No, but then is it really fair to expect everyone to be held to things they said a year ago? Unless anyone can prove that they lied, and that they actually did have such plans a year ago, then - like all such quotes - it's a non-story.
That reddit quote; technically not a lie.
We have no plans to add locked rng boxes to the game.
And they haven't. The clown crates aren't locked. The quote has nothing about not adding *unlocked* rng boxes.
I was in that thread with the "You don't have to be here" statement; it was a dev, talking about playing the game as a player, to other players. Not a "HEY! ITS A DEV! LET"S DEMAND ANSWERS TO EVERY SINGLE THING I SAY IS A PROBLEM!" thread. He got an AWESOME from me for it. The devs don't come to the forums barely at all as it is. If one of them wanted to have a discussion about playing the game as a player, why would someone basically verbally attack him for it, demanding answers for issues he may not be allowed to reply to?
"You know you don't have to be here, right?"

I agree we are off topic . My parents raised me different from a lot of people . Very spiritual background both of them . My father said these things . He hated contracts too . Said they were made by liars to protect liars from other liars . Good men don't need contracts ...
Anyways back to dev quotes .
