Just reading the article about housing, the storage crates displayed there are just cosmetics???? Not usable?????

Storage spaces are together with dps/hps test dummies the most important part of housing!!!!! How can you consider this idea serious!!!!????

I hope you are not planning a cruddy tactics again, that the real useful stuff will be crown store exclusive (storage crates, storage racks....)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Storage in the houses (Bought for gold) would detract a little from the desirability of craft bags via ESO+ to help with the storage issues.

ZOS needs predictable regular revenue and craft bags are the big draw for ESO + right now... as such I'd be surprised if they did anything to make those less needed/desirable, especially for in game gold, as this will impact the regular revenue stream which is what they need most to carry on.

Not saying I agree with it.... but this would be a big reason when looking at it from a business perspective.

If the space was only available from the house, the crafting bags would still be desirable. If not everything to do with the system is put in the Collections, what space we gain may be at least partially offset. And likely definitely offset by the time the next dlc comes out with new sets and items.

Storage containers in eso make sense only if not connected with crafting stations, bank, or personal inventory, so a completely separate containers for which you need to go and take from to have in inventory. Not working like craft bags but something fixed to the house.

Crafting bags are just that, bags with infinite space for crafting materials.

This has nothing to do with the hundreds of set pieces/monster helms people have.

Horrible move, we can craft furniture but you can't store items....

Don't really care about storage crates really (by the time I stopped playing Skyrim I had all the houses / storage & it drove me mad trying to remember where I had stashed things....) but would really like dummies to display armour sets on. And a weapon rack.

There will never again be housing like Ultima Online that was part of the game world itself and allowed you to store thousands and thousands of items in a completely customized house.

The scheme they have looks good to me, frankly. Plus it's months away and a bit soon for strings of exclamation marks.

Same boat. I need more storage *badly*. So many new sets were added in that I don't know what to do with everything. Crafting Bag helps immensely, but we almost need a Storage Bag now. XD

This is a way I imagined they would do it, considering profits they make from Craft Bags from ESO+.

That'a a shame and make's no sense that you can't store you items\gear in your damn HOUSE.

Why would they give storage away for free in a home when you have bag space, bank space to upgrade and a crafting bag to buy a sub for. That would completely negate the need for those, or at least maxing them out. I don't know why people kept thinking homes would have storage. This isn't a single player game - balance in various forms in important, including how much you can horde.

If I expected anything it might be like an armor stand to store on extra set of armor or something and not give the ability to have a dozen stands, but only one or two. Even then I wasn't expecting it at all.

It would be nice to have closet space to hang our different armor sets and weapons. Our characters would be able to go to the house, open the closet and find the armor/weapons they need instead of sorting through which of 4 different characters is holding that armor, weapon and spare jewelry, deposit in bank, switch character again, etc.

Kitchen cabinets would also be good to store quantities of pre made food, drink and potions/poisons. I make a bunch then store it and take it out for whichever character needs some.

I have bank space maxes out and still don't have enough space, having to go through 3 toons to find gear is such a hassle.

I would like to have a place to store all my set pieces too.

Maybe it will come in a later update. Rich said they plan to add a gardening system later down the road, didn't he? They are willing to upgrade the housing system later, so maybe if we keep asking they will make the containers functional :)
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I would be perfectly fine if housing storage only applied to armor/weapons/pots. I understand the need to keep the Craft Bag as desirable as possible, but to exclude any kind of storage from housing is a gigantic missed opportunity for a much needed quality of life improvement.

That's just plain silly, who would think it's logical a house could hold not house stuff? Not me and my magical teleporting Horse sized wolf who can effortlessly carry 60 shields for me, and let me eat food from his saddle bags while he is drifting in the magical Unicorn realm between worlds.

I agree with OP. Without proper storage in housing what's the point of even going in there? For it to look pretty? That's it?
