Just coming back to the game. I se this proc set term being thrown around a lot. Can anyone shed some light on what type of procs were talking about and is it crafted or dropped gear? Thanks!

armor sets that have a chance to trigger bonus effects, the ones most moan about are the ones that hit in the 9k and up range, put 2 of those 5 sets together and they pretty much do the killing for you

The proc sets are basically a armor group that performs an attack for you when certain conditions are met.
Both crafted and drops have them the monster sets from undaunted the most common eternal hunt from crafting being example of crafted.

Is it a dropped set or crafted? I agree it does sound kind dumb.

From drop sets you can get the set bouns from jewelry so with d/w or s/b you can have 12 items to work a set up

Proc is lovely and fun in PvE. I agree that proc sets as they are now can be horrible in pvp as they can pretty much one-shot.

Without all the PVP hysteria and salt, it's simply a 5-piece bonus on gear or a 2-piece bonus from monster mask + shoulders that gives you a chance to do something because you did something else.

They work pretty well the same as many class and weapon abilities that do the same. For example the sorc's surge is a 30 second buff that has a chance to proc a heal once per second anytime you do critical damage.

Likewise the Viper's Sting medium armor set has a chance to proc extra damage anytime you do direct melee damage or the Illambris monster mask set has a chance to proc extra damage anytime you do lightning or fire damage.

Most of these things have been around the game for a very long time. The only thing that has changed is that the increased accessibility of getting and using 5-piece sets of gear from overland or dungeon boss drops has made their use common now when in the past it was rare.

proc is short for special process. when an in game action trigger a special ability, it is said to "proc".

eg, when you over heal an ally with Spell Power Cure Set, you proc its effect to increase your ally's weapon power. when you do a critical hit with Iceheart Mask, you have 20% proc chance to gain a damage shield.

recently ppl use proc set to refer to just two sets, tremorscale (50% proc chance for damage and slow effect) and viper (100% proc chance for damage). this is just an alleged pvp problem tho. pve doesnt care and not all pvper care abt that.

Wow a time traveler from the future.

But its only 2016. 2handed weapons will only give 2 bonuses in a few years

Basically anything that goes beyond a flat item bonus and requires an extra check on the servers.

Most people talk about them in the context of sets that trigger some sort of automatic damage. As an example, here is the tool top from the Viper Set (one of the first rage inducing sets from back in the day): (5 items) When you deal damage with a melee attack, you deal an additional 6400 Poison Damage over 4 seconds. This effect can occur once every 4 seconds.

The 6400 poison damage is the "proc" in this case. This is however, only a small subset of what this game considers to be a proc set.

Something like Warriors Fury is a less obvious proc, but a proc nonetheless: (5 items) When you take damage, your Weapon Damage is increased by 24 for 5 seconds, stacking up to 20 times. This effect can occur once every half second. Upon reaching 20 stacks, the duration is doubled but can no longer be refreshed.

Even something like Seducer, is technically a proc from the server side POV because it requires an extra check each time you cast a skill to calculate the cost reduction: (5 items) Reduces the cost of your Magicka Abilities by 10%.

Generally speaking, the further you get away from the Damage procs, the less rage educing they are to the playerbase. For the next 6 months, however, they are all off limits in Cyrodiil because, reasons, and that is why it is currently a hot topic. Cyro is the only place where the distinction goes beyond an academic debate because even though they can be equipped, the 5 pieces are disabled on all proc sets as are 2 piece monster set bonuses and 1 piece mythic item bonuses.

This is an exhaustive list of what they consider to NOT be a proc set, in other words, they are allowed in Cyrodiil currently:

    Amber Plasm
    Armor of the Trainee
    Beekeeper’s Gear
    Crafty Alfiq
    Draugr Hulk
    Endurance
    Fortified Brass
    Grace of the Ancients
    Hunding’s Rage
    Impregnable Armor
    Law of Julianos
    Leviathan
    Mother’s Sorrow
    Plague Doctor
    Shacklebreaker
    Spinner’s Garments
    Spriggan’s Thorns
    Willpower Agility

Proc sets really became more viable in Greymoor when most of them lost their % chance on an action and became a guaranteed result of an action. Several even saw damage increases in addition to that change. That meant that those sets suddenly went from being ok to being highly usable since they were now more reliable for damage/survivability. Then, people figure out they scaled off of Malacath's, and well... we got the pvp meta that's been around for 9-ish months.

"Proc set" is a very misleading term. It comes from a time in which sets had a % chance to trigger an effect. Most of "Proc sets" have its % condition removed, so now effect is triggered whenever certain conditions are met. For example, when you light attack, deal dmg, block etc. Previously it was something like: "When you deal dmg you have 10% to trigger an effect"

Some sets still have % chance, but most sets had that removed. But - the general term "Proc" set is still used by the ESO community. I guess those could be called differently (maybe "Condition" sets ? idk.)

you can buy crowns with gold. it is called gifting. crown seller gifts you the item. best to do it via one of your guilds so there is no scamming. currently high gold price for crowns cuz of new crates.

All that is not pure stat is proc, and I do not want to play some donate like china game like revelation, that is stat based.

I like teso becouse it was different, a lot of different sets, that have skills build in it on condition. A lot of different cool combinations !

Do not make teso like garbage game people do not want to play.

Or people just go Aion 2 and the same, if no difference in stat based game play.

Give us our procs back !!!

Other games have more than 36+30 slots for skills, teso have 12 !!!

Do not make the game for brainless !!!
