When I wanna do personal DPS tests, I go to the Wisplight Glenn boss in the Rift. It's easier boss to solo and is a good reference for solo DPS without heals.

Not really sure what this means...

I think it means that hitting 30k pure single target dps (no adds as in the Maw which often confuse posted dps scores from there) without any group buffs (warhorn for example, TBS - which is a really good set - relies mostly on warhorn uptime), just self buffs and the puncture debuff on a mob (and no 500 spell and weapon damage buff because of NOT using the LFG-Tool), is even in BIS gear not really ezmode for every build and class. It's doable and even doable with more ease by certain classes (templar execute comes to my mind) and builds (stamina), yep, but not ezmode.

Personally I think 25k is a good benchmark. Most people wouldn't believe how many so called DD players won't even hit that mark. I agree though, that 25k a DD should be able to achieve when he wants to do serious vet raiding. It should be even more for trial hardmodes and/or vet MoL.

..and I agree a Bloospawn with more health is a better dps puppet. Longer fights -> more accuracy.

The test you are describing is the exact test we do when people apply to our guild. We give them 2 weeks to pass it. We have yet to have anyone fail. 30k stam and magicka on bloodspawn self buffed is easy. Most of the people that cannot do it right away have an issue not with gear, but with theor rotation. Once we help them make rotation adjustments literally everyone is able to hit 30k.

It means thats my reaction when people go '30-20-whatever' K DPS is 'easy'. Because it's a hilarious erroneous statement.

I've met plenty of veteran MMO players who are baffled and frustraited with ESO's DPS methods. The buff and dot stacking, the spinning plates. And then you come around and go 'lol, iz ezmode'. In the MMO's I have played, this is the only game where I have not seen powers that are situationally used, or even rotations based on situation. No, it's just buffstacking, and at certain points some people just falll flat due to inability to keep up. Yet, it's ezmode guys.

And my reaction is uproarious laughter. It's like 'git gud'. It serves no constructive purpose and makes you look like a damn fool.

Edit: Because I know I'ma get called a bad DPS, I'm a tank main. I gravitate toward this roll naturally, and play it exclusively because I -hate- how DPS here is done in comparison to other MMO's. I dont have the patience or want to work through the sheer disconnect feeling achieving high DPS would mean. This game isn't worth it for me.

Im not going to call you bad, Im just going to point to one of the things you wrote:"I dont have the patience or want to work". This little bit states that you are too lazy to learn a proper roation, which is fine, this is after all a video game so you should play it in the way that you would enjoy, however it definitely is EZmode and tweaking the rotation helps with that. As for rotations not changing depending on the situation? Thats a complete fallacy, they most definitely do.

And what about the people who have been playing MMO's for years, and who just dont get ESO's way of doing things? They just suck?

The point, if you couldn't tell, is it's easy for -you-. And the specific subset of people who have a extremely flexible mindset needed to conform to how ESO does things. It's by no means the norm, and it's by no means easy for the half, if not the vast majority, of gamers and even MMO players. I'm very tired of people geting called bad because they had the audacity to play -anything- else, then get the gears changed when they pick up this and get told they suck because they cant figure it out.

    To the OP.

Bloodspawn is a good one, mostly now because it has more health and is therefore a more effective DPS test. Slimecraw I'd advise if you wanna test that DPS, with situational awareness. Slimecraw is nice for that because of his pushbacks. (If your not using a tank that is, though most people default to Maelstrom for a situational awareness test nowadays, as erroneous as that is.)

I'd suggest going for Bloodspawn, Slimecraw, then maybe as a final test seeing if you can consistantly hit those numbers in something like COS with very, very patient people.

If your going for pure best DPS, housing will feature the training dummies so you can get told your a scrub before you even leave the virtual house, but Slimecraw and Bloodspawn both have their merits at the moment.

Point is everyone can be good at this game...for some people its easier, for others its harder. If its harder that doesnt make them a bad player. What makes a bad player is being lazy. If you choose not to work on your damage and dont utilize every topl at your disposal to improve and work on it, then yes you are bad by my standards...

EDIT: Also no its not easy for ME. Its easy period. If we tested over 100 people over the last 3 months and each one of them hit 30k on bloodspawn if not right away then after practice, how can it be just me? I find that most people that want to hit 30, do hit it...just need effort.

For all of the suggested tests with Bloodspawn are these Normal or Veteran? Thank you.

    @Karius_Imalthar

Vet. One wants a lot of HP. The fight cannot be fast to provide helpful information.

I'm not max CP yet and I can hit 30k consistently on 4 characters.. Also this is my 4th MMO.. Everyone comes up with some excuse or another to cover up the fact that they suck.. Again its a game.. Its entirely your choice to get good or be lazy and blame everything else..
I play how I want to.
