ZOS, can you explain how your system is a good system?

The first problem is, that it was a bad idea to put the best weapons of the game in a solo arena.
But I admit the arena brought me a lot of joy the first 5 times I completed it.
And even after that I had fun in the arena to get the "flawless conqueror" and got a score above 500 points.

But after x tries it is just frustrating to go into the arena.

Nobody likes the RNG from the Maelstrom Arena or the Undaunted Shoulders.
Making Loot from Dungeons trade-able was a very good step in the right direction.
You can farm the sets with your team-mates and share upon them.

Right now farming the arena or a specific shoulder is just a pain in the ass.
Here are two pictures to illustrate how annoying your system is to a lot of players:

Not all of my Maelstrom-Weapons are on that bank-char. And all of these golden items are from the weekly -> At least 24 weeklys (I only run with one char.)

Keep in mind, that there was only a chance to get a Maelstrom-Weapon until the Patch that introduced all the crap-traits to the Arena-Loot-Table.


This is not the first thread appearing in the forum.
So when will you start listening to your players?

There have been many postings about possible solutions.
Here are two of them.
(The same could be introduced to the undaunted shoulders. )

- Token-System:
Additionally to the drop at the end of the arena you recieve:
1 Token for completing the Arena in normal Mode.
3 Token for completing the Arena in vet Mode.
5 Token for completing the Arena with a score >500k.

You can trade your tokens for weapons:
5 Token for a random weapon, with random trait
20 Token for a random weapon, but specific trait.
30 Token for a specific weapon, but random trait.
200 Token for a specific weapon, and specific trait.


- Forge-System:
After completing the arena you get both:
- a random weapon material (maelstrom-wood or maelstrom-ore)
- a random weapon trait

To forge a weapon you 3 weapon parts and 3 trait parts.

    Yes... the token system idea is great but normal shouldn't drop anything unless they make normal mode tougher to complete...

    I'm not sure about this idea... I take it back... this is a fun idea... 50/50 chance of the material you need and a 1/8 chance of the trait piece you need... yes it's still rng.. but it's at least reasonable and something you can work toward. (as long as ZOS didn't make sharpened and precise 10x less likely to drop than the other traits)

    PS... super jealous of your 4 usable lightning staff drops... its the only thing i wanted from vma and have never seen yet. (not one lightning)

    these are pretty good ideas. its the hardest content in the game- making people run it over and over is just plain cruel. if u want people to enjoy the content- dont make it a grind.

    I've done it 14 times so far-
    8 staffs all in *** traits like powered and charged, etc
    2 sword and boards, didn't even bother to remember the traits
    2 bows- 1 precise and 1 nirn
    1 maul - nirn
    1 greaaxe - defending
    1 axe- powered.

    after looking at the numbers- in order for me to get what i want-
    - a sharp inferno
    - 2 sharp daggers
    - 1 sharp great sword-
    - 1 sharp maul
    - 1 sharp battle axe

    it would probably take me 1000 runs. and thats not an exaggeration. if someone like andy s only just got a sharp inferno- someone who can do it in his sleep with 2 wooden sticks- and who has run it thousands of times so many that he s memorised every spawn! plus he gets double the drops - with rewards and can finish it with every class- what chance do the rest of us have that only play casually???!?1

    u practically have to be a pro, unemployed or 15 and in school holidays to have the weapon of choice.
    give us an end in sight- and reward us please!?! i still enjoy running it- up until i open that chest

    to re-iterate the op- LISTEN TO YOUR COMMUNITY!

    this is the kind of stuff you can amend in a single patch upgrade in ur weekly maintenance- why do we have to wait 4 months to fix things that are glaringly upsetting like this and proc sets!?!?!?!?!

    ur killing ur own game guys - u are.
    tell us if u dont give a ***- its fine- we understand. we do- care that is- but if u dont care about us- let us know. we ll move on.if its about money- i m happy to pay a subscription for better service and a responsive community connection. but if ur going to continue to make it free but gimp us in service and compensate by selling us crap like crown crates- then thats just lame. and poor business.
    if all we re going 2 get is pretty houses and mounts- when the *** that really matters bothers us- then just let us know.
