Alessia Bridge woes

@ZOS_BrianWheeler this is a plea to re-evaluate the Alessia Bridge in Cyrodiil.

I understand the value choke-points, but the bridge near Alessia is just TOO chokey. I play on a 1.5mbps T1 connection, and even if the campaign server happens to be low-lag, I often get lagged out and a forced disconnect at Alessia Bridge due to the sheer number of players and abilities being fired on such a tiny area. A hundred meters away from the bridge on either side and my connection is fine. There are other points on the map that can cause similar problems, but this point is in a MUCH higher traffic area.

I believe a very simple but effective fix would be to double size of the entire structure, creating two distinct/separate doorways with separated pathways over the bridge. The doors could also be a little wider.

I would really appreciate some relief at this choke-point. Thanks for reading!

They just need to make the bridge randomly explode and take 15 minutes to respawn afterwards.

Khajiit would pay real money for a DLC that did that.
    Character: Telel
    Class: Night Blade-Werewolf-viking-ninja-catgirl-mallet wielder
Past times: Refusing to go full magika spec, hitting things with a big hammer, sniping, and speaking in khajiit
Also: Gelel the Derp Knight, Altsel the streaker, and Filafel the temp temp.

Khajiit has a twitch stream! https://twitch.tv/telel_khajiit feel free to come see how truly unskilled Telel is.

That's why taxes are paid. The Elf Lord Crown through his government collect taxes from the elves and cats and there will be a crew that maintains the bridge, including de-icing in the winters as needed.

The dirty elves would only collect taxes from their tree hugging cousins and pet cats. Then they would force them to do there repairs on the bridge, which would only be located in Dirty Elf cities.

The Alessia bridge symbolizes many players need for a death match type of arena. I persoanlly dont care for such a place but it draws away from the PVP objectives which is causing alot of bickering in zone chat. The bridge fight hurts AD more so than any other alliance IMO.

The sides of the bridge should be open so Templars can randomly spear people into the water and feed the slaughter fish below, as I cant see that those fish have anything else to live on apart from baby mud crabs..

They could just partition cyro into battleground zones to que into. Then they can add interesting objectives, remove keep doors to encourage map movement, add a ranking system based on kill/death/AP/faction game wins which can also help contribute to an overall faction score. IC can remain the PVE time-sink that it is.

They would have to punish over stacking as well but least they could balance the skills/classes around this setup better than in open cyro (since they can design and control how the players interact with the surroundings at this scale).

A 1.5 mbps connection is not that fast at all. You are talking like this is some kind of awesome connection and it would have been about 25 years ago but compared to today's standards that is slow. I have been able to fight at alessia bridge without any problems and obviously many other people can as well.

My connection is currently averaging 20 KB/s lol Hence why I'm not playing at this time....not until my data plan refreshes at the end of the month....

Needless to say, patch days and server down times all of a sudden aren't a big deal when you have to wait 3 weeks to play again lol.

Normally my connection is 5-10 MB/s as that is what I can afford.

1.5 MB/s sounds painful to try and play this game with.

But if you can't get faster internet there are 2 other bridges to cross further south if you don't mind the sight seeing tour.

Finally someone I agree with. That 24/7 bridge fight is nothing but asinine e-peen flexing and an utterly chaotic mosh pit. I feel dirty every time I get dragged over there by my group. It's awful.

@Sheuib you drunk brah? Would I be here complaining if I thought my connection is awesome? True broadband providers won't run service to my area (capitalism at its finest) so I am forced to pay 5x the price for 1/100th of the speeds offered by Comcast et al.

With that said, 1.5 mbps is more than enough to play anywhere else on the map while simultaneously watching Netflix/YouTube and browsing the web on other monitors. It's not like the client is swapping nudies with the server (as far as I know...) so I don't have any other complaints about it, but those damned bridge fights can be brutal.

Almighty @ZOS_BrianWheeler, hear my plea. Save us from the bottleneck ability spam. :(

It's the perfect place to test builds for everyday cyro play, and to warm up your group. If Battlegrounds ever are added, the bridge should be the first one. Adding iconic battle areas of cyro would be an obvious choice.

For sure @Manoekin! I have a feeling that people who play battlegrounds will know better than to stack 7 pools of Caltrops on the doorway. I always laugh at the silliness right before I cry over a disconnect :s

Heh, not actually a bad idea. Some of the best fights I've ever had weren't around keeps, but were

    - Trying to capture the flag at a resource
    - When we took a scroll into the mountain and fought for it in there
    - Fights for control of Bruma and Cropsford
    - Alessia Bridge <3

I literally have no memorable fights at keeps, because it's usually just trying to avoid enemy siege before running inside.

Aww, that's sad @Alucardo. Keep fights can be super fun! Just a couple days ago on TF sub-primetime I was with AD defending Roe from simultaneous DC and EP assaults. Well over 100 players in total, it was an all-out blood bath.

I should also mention my connection was fine and the server was running like a champ. Earlier that day though at Alessia bridge, every time the tug-of-war bottlenecked at the door, my connection imploded.
