False Advertising (Imperial Edition)

I bought the Imperial Edition because I thought being able to change the style of my gear would be awesome. I also LOVED the look of the heavy Imperial chest piece, so this was an easy choice. Sadly it rarely works. It works fine on the gear you craft yourself, BUT WHY WOULDN'T I JUST CRAFT IT IN IMPERIAL TO BEGIN WITH DURRRR.
Anyway, with One Tamriel we gained a lot of new sets, so crafted sets don't suit my purposes at all anymore. I tried upgrading my Plague Doctor to Imperial, and guess what?

NNRUOLy.png

Yeah, no option to convert it. Now I'm cool with not being able to convert the undaunted pieces, and I never expected that to work. But why can't I change a simple Breton style (Plague Doctor) into Imperial?

TLW7sM2.png

Maybe change the wording a little. "Allows you to convert SOME of your gear to the Imperial Style.".

Can we please get this fixed? I'm on the verge of tears here.

Thank you.

I agree. This has bugged me so much. I hate how a lot of the dropped armor sets look and id love to change a few of my armors to imperial because it would look better than what the dropped style is.

Could you maybe deconstruct it and then remake it in your preferred style if you don't like the style it dropped as?

I think you have to take the armor off before you can change it. Have you tried that?

And, certain dropped set items can not be changed. It used to be just a few things, but lately, there are more and more of the new motifs that don't have a transform.

one reason I can think of, that you wouldn't craft in imperial, if you have an imperial char, is, a shortage of nickel mats...another is that your imperial isn't leveled sufficiently in the particular crafting skill, but that your alt who is a skilled crafter is not an imperial...

I appreciate you trying to help, but the option to convert a style to Imperial has nothing to do with crafting and what mats you have.

There's a few questionable listings on the crown store. With both the banker and vendor assistants being 2 of them. Nowhere does it list what services you actually get or more to the point, what services you don't get. You have to go trawling through the net for that information. I wonder how many people bought the vendor thinking they'd be able to repair their items or use the banker for guild stores. Not saying those features should have been included, I'm saying it should be made clear that they aren't included. We shouldn't need to second guess what the items we're buying entail.

Oh man, I nearly bought the merchant because I thought I could repair. Fortunately someone in my group had one and I got to try it out. Thank god I never purchased it.

I'd buy the vendor in a heartbeat if it could repair and like yourself, I nearly did until i used someone else's. The banker, i bought and must admit I don't know how I managed to ever play this game without a mobile banker. I use him a lot and have well and truly had my 5000 crowns worth. He's a God send for my in-progress crafter. Doesn't excuse the lack of information in the listing though.

I would think they best throw away the "convert into imperial" function altogether as being near-useless, and give everyone who reachers master crafter levels access to a proper gear style transmogrification system.

Only way to be sure. ;)

You think this is annoying? My first in-game purchase was Any Race, Any Alliance so I could play in DC areas as a Khajiit. :| I refuse to PVP once I've unlocked my vigor, warhorn, and caltrops so it was a waste of money for me now that One Tamriel has made it pointless. But it is definitely a little shortsighted that they would just omit all of the new dropped sets from the convert to imperial function.

It never said "crafted" sets only, so I assumed it was most things. It works on Shield Breaker, so I kind of expected it to work on these new dropped sets which are just basic racial styles.
It's just very inconsistent, which is a huge problem.

From memory i think just owning the Imperial edition you can craft imperial on any race? but say you don't have the style material you can make it as any other thing and convert it later.

Having said that though, it really should just be possible to convert all items to ANY style you have unlocked. Just look so stupid wearing mis-matching pieces.

But hey! at least all jewelry it seems can be converted... for no apparent reason.

The problem is, dropped sets are way more productive for my tank. So I can't really craft anything without actually hindering myself. I need to be able to use the conversion tool I paid for.
I'm not one to usually say things like "I want what I paid for", but in this instance, I actually do. I'm also not going to demand refunds or kick up too much of a stink, but it would be really nice if they looked at getting the conversion to be more consistent. It SHOULD work on dropped sets with basic racial styles, like Viper (Argonian), Plague Doctor (Breton), Ysgramor (Nord), etc.

I would also like to chime in and agree this is annoying. As-is if I want to use a dropped set I have to hunt for a specific piece that matches my desired look AND a specific trait; I became a crafter to avoid this sort of hassle. :\

Actually you'd also think this opened up crafting Imperial on any race if you owned both the Imperial update and any race bonuses BUT that's also not how this works.

Essentially the only thing you get worth a damn is a mount at launch. Now that's worthless

    So as results:
-most gear we wear we cannot change
-the ring of Mara is one time use (another gripe I have)
-it doesn't unlock the Imperial crafting, unless you're an Imperial

So $15 for nothing but a mount and access to be an Imperial kinda...if you didn't grab this at launch but the ring of Mara was an issue at launch.

I agree, I hate running around in styles that are bugged, poorly animated, or just not my style.

As for crafting it in that style to begin with, converting to imperial gives you a nice fall back when you're crafted style doesnt work out.
