Could you maybe deconstruct it and then remake it in your preferred style if you don't like the style it dropped as?

Please note that not all items are convertible and once an item has been converted, it cannot be reverted to its original style.

From this support page. That should really be added to the description in the crown store...
Not trying to be difficult but it never occurred to me that it was referring to anything but crafted gear.

I appreciate you trying to help, but the option to convert a style to Imperial has nothing to do with crafting and what mats you have.

I think he was just answering the question "BUT WHY WOULDN'T I JUST CRAFT IT IN IMPERIAL TO BEGIN WITH DURRRR."
From memory i think just owning the Imperial edition you can craft imperial on any race? but say you don't have the style material you can make it as any other thing and convert it later.

Having said that though, it really should just be possible to convert all items to ANY style you have unlocked. Just look so stupid wearing mis-matching pieces.
But hey! at least all jewelry it seems can be converted... for no apparent reason.
Shortage of the Nickel Trait????? I have over 300 of them ..... They are out there, you just need to loot them .....fgoron2000 wrote: »one reason I can think of, that you wouldn't craft in imperial, if you have an imperial char, is, a shortage of nickel mats...another is that your imperial isn't leveled sufficiently in the particular crafting skill, but that your alt who is a skilled crafter is not an imperial...

I bought the Imperial Edition because I thought being able to change the style of my gear would be awesome. I also LOVED the look of the heavy Imperial chest piece, so this was an easy choice. Sadly it rarely works. It works fine on the gear you craft yourself, BUT WHY WOULDN'T I JUST CRAFT IT IN IMPERIAL TO BEGIN WITH DURRRR.
Anyway, with One Tamriel we gained a lot of new sets, so crafted sets don't suit my purposes at all anymore. I tried upgrading my Plague Doctor to Imperial, and guess what?
Yeah, no option to convert it. Now I'm cool with not being able to convert the undaunted pieces, and I never expected that to work. But why can't I change a simple Breton style (Plague Doctor) into Imperial?
Maybe change the wording a little. "Allows you to convert SOME of your gear to the Imperial Style.".
Can we please get this fixed? I'm on the verge of tears here.
Thank you.
