Magknight Gear Question

Hey, everyone.

I'm pretty rapidly approaching CP160 on my Magicka Dragonknight, and I'm wondering what gear I should be shooting for. I'm currently planning on doing 5 Julianos, 5 Silks of the Sun, and one other piece to start out, but I'm wondering about what I should aim for long-term.

I'd prefer if I could stick to at least 5 crafted pieces. I'm currently considering doing something like 5 Julianos/TBS, 5 Spellweave, and a Maelstrom staff, but I'm A: really worried about RNG and B: not sure whether or not there is a better option.

Thank you very much for your time.

Edit: This is going to be a DPS build.

Burning Spellweave and Silks of the Sun are the sets that are slanted towards a MagKnight. Either one will pair up with Julianos which will make it easier to mix and match traits. Or, you could use BSW and SoS together.

On your 1 H/S bar, as you are going to do some Tanking with this character, right? Pick a Two Piece Set, Crafted or Dropped that gives a boost to what you need boosted. I use Torugs here, but I get a 3 piece bonus that helps Health on my build. But, it could be anything that you need.

Or, you can go 5 and 5 with a weapon, and use a Monster Shoulder/Mask like Molag Kena for a nice 1 piece bonus.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

One more quick question: Is it worth considering DW on this kind of build?

I was afraid of the RNG a lot too. You can get blue drops of the armor pieces from a normal run.

I ran normal with some guildies last night, and I got 4 of the slots I needed in divines, infused chest which I will use for a bit.

If you run with people that will trade you the gear you need, you will get it fast. We ran a bunch of four mans, and all traded to eachother and a lot of us got what we were looking for.

One more quick question: Is it worth considering DW on this kind of build?

DW is actually quite valid, but you will suffer in magicka management. If you or your healer slot Elemental Drain however, that will solve most of your magicka issues.

The DW weapons should (ofc) both be swords. Nothing else benefits magicka builds from DW.

The idea behind DW is to have one set that you can proc, and keep the benefits of the buff proc on both bars.
Burning Spellweave or Scathing Mage are great examples.
This way you can have two 5-piece sets combined with a 2-piece monster set.
Some great Monster sets for mag DK are Valkyn Skoria, Ilambris and Grothdarr.
