Bring IC pvp back with temps

I'll be brief - Imperial City is beautiful. Pvp there is fun but players find no reason to enter the city. I play on Xbox and rarely see people down there even in Haderus. It's not really cost effective for Zos to spend the time and resources to change old dlc.
I think the way to bring players back to IC pvp would be to bring in Gold Temps (temps, wax, rosin) to the Tel Var vendors. Make them expensive but not crazy. My reasoning - farming temps is time consuming and boring. Pvp is fun and gives you the incentive to finish maxing your character by collecting tel vars and using them for temps. And if your a casual player (loyal but lacking time) you would rarely spend your time farming for temps or have the gold to buy them.
The price for them (temps, wax, rosin) are through the roof high. Adding more temps will hopefully bring the price back down to a reasonable amount, but it will at least give you another avenue to finish your characters. (And see your gears max potential, before new gear comes out basically every 3 months with new dlc)

    I agree, gold tempers should be available for Tel Var.

    Also, ZOS should add a ton of resource nodes to the map. For example, flowers and wood in Arboretum, metal ore in cave sections of the sewers, and more heavy sacks in more places.

    Another solution: Make IC part of the base game instead of DLC. Judging from the fact that I never see more than 5-10 people per alliance ever in IC, it's clear enough that no one's buying it as DLC.

    Basically this. It was promised to us before the game even released (it was even supposed to be released in one of the first major patches), yet you have to pay extra for it. I remember being told an enemy group went into the sewers one time, so I thought it would be cool to follow and get some action in there. Only half my group had the DLC though, and so we stayed out of there.

    The simplest thing would have been to leave Willpower/Agility and endurance sets there, and ensure they are BIS as they were. Totally odd that now everyone gets spammed them. Crazy.

    Yea this would be excellent. Atm there is not much incentive to go there at all, ppl have gotten what they wanted from the telvar merchant and the very, very few people you see there are just grinding xp mostly.¨

    Gold tempers, other resources and crafting nodes aplenty would be a welcome addition to the vast dungeon that it the sewer too. Atm there is very little point in venturing into the sewers, and its a great big fun place if more people did go there.

    If this change happened I would only leave IC when I get the eternal loading screen bug.

    I actually really enjoy farming TV and dueling in there.

    I agree, I never see anyone down there farming anymore. And if there is no one farming, then there is nobody for me to farm :(

    The only issue I see is that it might affect the economy in a bad way. Goldtempers are one of the few things that doesnt go up or down a lot in price (at least on PC EU). Adding something like OP suggest must be done with care so it doesn´t cause a huge pricedrop of goldtempers.

    My problem with IC is how it's hard to get to it.
    Several loading screens, at least few minutes travaling - what for?

    I want to fast travel directly from my capital city where I craft do daylies etc. to IC, not to spent 10 minutes just to get to the place.

    tbh it's still very decent gold/time if you're willing to invest 2h+. if you can get the districts for yourself, just turn all flags and then solo all the bosses (or at least those that you can solo, the harvester's heal can be very annoying for many builds and VERY hard to stop solo). You'll make tons of TSV. If you, in addition, dare to carry 10k+ around you will get about 12k stones per boss, and you can make significantly more than 10 hakeijo or 10 pieces for impen black rose per hour.

    while more risky (gets screwed when enemies show up, gets screwed when allies show up), you at least have the potential to make MUCH more money than by farming resource nodes. But I agree: more incentive and more action would be really nice. especially incentive to go there without having to hope that you have the entire place for yourself.

They are much too high - most people I know and myself are just running epic anymore - no longer buying gold temper upgrades because the price doesn't justify the small increase in stats anyway. ZOS needs to give us another outlet to get these tempers or up the RNG on them. These selling guilds have a chokehold on them.

    While I wouldn't mind another source of tempers, the problem with the price is not the supply, the problem is the small group of people that are actively fixing the price. They do this by buying up as much of the supply as possible and then relisting at obscene prices, they get away with it because eventually there are no other options. They do the same thing with pots too.

    Zos is in the business of making money. It is not cost effective to spend time and resources on old dlc. A quick fix to bring players back would be by selling gold temps at a NPC vendor in IC. Placing resource nodes, heavy sacs, etc throughout IC would take some time and effort (we are avoiding this- not cost effective)

    Zergs - the only way I know how to deal with them would be to run, hide, last stand in a corner, or *** off a world boss and unleash it on the Zerg (and then fight or flight).

    Zergs suck... But it would still mean players back in IC, which is the main goal of this thread. Ideally IC would have a max cap of 6 players per group, but now we are talking time and resources again which we are avoiding for Zos.

    Buying temps with tel vars makes us not have to buy temps at outrageous prices. (Referring to concern above, about small group of players fixing the market for temps. We are increasing supply and lowering demand. The price will have to drop. Also ideally they won't be too cheap in IC so we won't be flooding the market either.

    We are not taking away farming runs for temps but we are basically giving a fun pvp option to farming temps. This is also in a dlc area which could mean - For Zos - an option which could bring in more IC dlc sales with minimal effort.

    The only time I bother going to IC now is when I cap emp because its easy to farm district bosses for 2-4k TV a pop

    IC died the moment when the imperial physique set was introduced. It´s now a mandatory set for pvping and farming in IC and you can´t become competetive without it.
    PvP players not owning mandatory gear won´t go there and most pvp players i know won´t bother to get the set because it has no use outside of IC.
    To fix this they´d have to rework the telvar system to give you say 700 of each stat depending on your tel var modifier. The imperial physique set could than increase this effect by 50 to 100% still giving a good statboost but no longer being 100% mandatory to be competetive in IC.

    Imo it´s even more of a showcase for terrible gear design than the current proccset meta in cyrodiil.


    My opinion to make IC relevant is still to keep ICP + WGT + sewers the DLC while making the districts part of the base game. Attach the upper IC island to cyrodiil with bridges and make the emp system require all home keeps of your alliance + all 6 IC districts.
    Furthermore rework the keeps in a way that enemy scrolls can only be stored in Glademist, Faregyl, Arrius + Dragonclaw, Drakelowe, Brindle. As a result requiring a dominant faction to be much more spreadout on the map than is currently the case.
    Last but not least make people unable to port to a keep with two resources being taken and unable to release at a keep with three resources being under enemy control.

    OP is suggesting to get tempers simply by whacking mobs. I am against it. That would bypass all the efforts that crafters have put in to producing them. The prices are going up because making them got more difficult in last patch.

    IC is PvP area and it should never again put any essential PvE there. Instead rework the PvP any way you want with enough gold earning possibilites. Then come and buy the tempers as everybody else.

    No point making old content more appealing while leaving the actual combat imbalanced. People will all flock to IC to get their shiny tempering alloys only to get instagibbed by tremorscale and eye of the storm at which point they'll remember why they weren't playing IC in the first place lol. Cool idea though.

    I love the idea of promoting more IC PvP - in my opinion, the biggest problem cause is actually this - There is no real risk. Most players seem to get 500, maybe 1k stones and bank... so really its barely different from other areas in terms of 'reward for PvP' - Perhaps make a set amount of risk needed to enter, and you buy the initial telvar from a vendor, or some equivelant method to increase the 'risk' in IC.

    I certainly love the idea of Tempers bought for stones - I have more gold than I'll ever need, but certianly having a real use for that stuff would be great, and it would be a nice way to reduce market inflation

    I love IC for PvP. The sewers and the city layout are just so good. I'd spend my days there if people were in there actually doing stuff. I think that at this point the best thing they can do is make it all about arenas and battlegrounds in each district while keeping some sort of open world PvP and PvE. The flags are there but for what? There's literally no point in capturing a flag as most people farm tel var in the sewers anyway.

    Another idea - make daylies worth doing or remake them totally. Or add another quests for killing the bosses in districts (heck, we even need the same daily quests for sewers). Rewards could be at least Allience motifs.
    That's not directly about PvP, but people from different allianes will want to kill those bosses = possibility for open world PvP.

    Counting seems to be one of your weaknesses (i´d bet money there are more).
    8 - 5 = 3 Which means even if i largegrped my way to grandoverlord i´d still have a few more stars on my forum account. Duh - better luck next time when counting that with your fingers. You´ll eventually get used to using both hands!
