I agree! Since they put in those major changes in combat animations, most of the skills have been terribly laggy. Often times I see NPC's around me taking damage, but don't see the animations pop, or if I do, it certainly isn't done smoothly like we had before. And for those voting no, did you even know what it was like beforehand?
I was not around during this time. What have I been missing?
Since ZOS are unable to remove animation canceling from the game, they prioritized the animations based on what you're currently asking the server to perform. It's not lag. You just can't roll three attacks and a block into a single animation anymore. I'm pretty sure the only people actually mad are the people who wasted money on input devices and other gaming peripherals to take advantage of the older, less accurate system.

Is it time for a rollback to combat and animation priority from patch 1.5/1.6? The time when fighting was silky smooth. See my signature from when I soloed vet elden. When our reactions and timings were limiting us, not bugs.
To clarify further. What im proposing will not change skills or abilities. It will change how the game process and animate them.

I can pick and choose anyone I know in this game, not a single one of them would agree on what you just said.

They were buggy before and unintended. Sure it sucks a bit having to get used to skills taking as long an was intended but in the end it will be a good thing. We were never meant to animation cancel and finally a little bit has been done to fix that.

People not agreeing doesn't make it less correct, though. This is completely about newer animation prioritization, one that favors fairness in interpretation and telegraphing rather than allowing completely dissimilar attacks from being melted on top of one another as if half of them had no origin.
Though interestingly, I use the same cleverness and resourcefulness that earned all those awesomes to design my combat techniques. I know how hard it is to undo bad habits...
