Confusion about the effects of Thaumaturge and Elemental Expert.

I am trying to decide between both passives, but I am confused:

Elemental Expert: "Increases your Flame, Frost, and Shock damage by X"

Thaumaturge: "Increases your damage with poison, disease and magic by X"

Can anyone explain the difference?

Your problem is looking at old data.
Elemental experts buffs magic, flame, frost, shock damage
Thaumaturge buffs DoT damage (of any type).
Mighty buffs physical, poison and disease

Well I'm not sitting in front of the game, but that's the way it used to be. Then a few patches ago, they changed it. Now elemental also includes magic damage and thaumaturge is just damage over time effects. I think poison and disease is moved to mighty. I could be wrong

Ohhh! I got from this link: http://elderscrollsonline.info/champion-system.

Yikes! Does anyone know a list of champion passives that is actually updated? That would be really helpful.

    Thanks, everyone! =)

Since we solved that issue... might as well really talk about therma:

Can people please confirm or deny if Therma increases heals over time as well as damage...

    TY!

Last I heard/read Thaumaturge does not increase the value of HoTs.

Likely due to the wording: "damage over time abilities", heals over time are treated as a seperate category in this games maths

    It's just damage, unfortunately.

The only ones that directly boost heals are Blessed (heals) and Elfborn (Spell crits of any magical variety).

I don't think the stamina crit side boosts heals at all, does it?
Why be normal when you can be better?

    Lady Kalila, Stamina Templar DPS
    Stands-in-Danger, Nightblade Saptank

What about Spell Erosion? ("Increases Spell Penetration by [x]%.")

    1) Does it work for Magicka-based skills as well as staves?
    2) Does it ignore spell resistance of enemies?

I might be wrong, but I think it just ignores spell resistance of mobs. See, before the change Spell Erosion meant that "Your spells ignore X of Spell Resistance." There is already another passive that increases Magicka skill damage (Elemental Expert), so it would be kind of a duplicate. Maybe it is just different wording for that.

I hope someone can clarify it.

yes, vigor is impacted by Precise Strikes, it says so in the description, http://esoitem.uesp.net/viewlog.php?action=view&record=cpSkills&id=466, and i have verified this through the use of vigor on my tank. the only other stam heal i have used is Momentum and i have not verified that Precise Strikes work with it. also not sure about how it works with Blood Craze but Bloodthirst is a percentage based heal based on damage done, so i don't know if it can crit. the last stam heal that i am aware of is Draining Shot, i also have no idea if it can crit, but if it did, it ought to use Precise Strikes as well.

The only heals thaum increases are the heals done by the last hit of bloodthirst and lascerate effect, since both depends on dmg done to heal you. (60% and 50% dmg done in both skills respectively)
