I can relate to that. I would like to see the motifs a little bit harder to get. I know that sounds crazy, but I npc vendor hundreds of them. I saved a few sets for my wife though when she gets back into it.
    This is what I did.

My wife is busy chasing her Master's Degree, so she couldn't get on at all during the Witch's Festival. So I ground out more Skulls than is healthy for one person to do, and I've got two full copies of the Hollowjack Motif sitting on the Khajiit that I use to run around with her. One copy for each of her characters.

Even setting those aside, I have four characters with the full Motif and another two full copies sitting in my bank...

The achievo says "Happy Work for Hollowjack", but it should be "Overtime Pay for Hollowjack". lol

The motif drop rate was rather over the top wasn't it. Learned the full motif on 6 chars, sent 1 set to my bro, have 5 full sets on mules, and probably 60 more misc chapters (only missing chests to make another 4 full sets).

I have just about as many full sets of the 9 recipes as well. Learned on 6, 1 for bro, 3 on mules, 20 or so left after learning everything I could on 19 characters.

Why do you hate so much the skeleton? Did you try the /laugh emotic with him? It's hilarious, even more if you have a group of skeletons doing it.... at the same time....in front of a boss! xD

The skeleton is great - especially with the drunk personality. It just gets a little bit old when virtually everyone you see is a skeleton for a couple of weeks. I'm starting to think I've been playing The Elder Skeletons Online.

I appreciate the effort ZOS makes for other players to enjoy, but yeah - I hate fighting bosses with mobs of other players. It's not enjoyable for me because there's no challenge. I understand it's an MMO - but for me 2-3 strangers teaming up to fight a really hard boss is fun, more than five not so much fun. Over ten = boring to frustrating because you have to be quick with ranged attacks to get the credit.

I kind of have been as well. The same thing happened to me during cake week.

The good news is that I no longer have any real reason to be a slave to the XP bonus on my main account, as I've now got all 12 characters at level 50 and I'm more than 100 CPs above cap.

The bad news is that I have other accounts with characters who could still make good use of the XP buff...

looking at peoples responses on this and other threads it looks like a (very) simplified feedback for ZOS would be

    Positives
    1) 'most' people appreciated the event
    2) The good work ZOS put in was clear. Some wanted more effort though
    3) most appreciated the double xp bonus and found it hard to resist not using it.
    4) the initial excitement was fantastic and players made new friends while grinding

    Negatives
    3) Some got sick of looking like a skeleton and seeing skeletons everywhere
    4) The grind was a pain and lasted too long
    5) The hollow drops were too easy
    6) some found the masks impossible to get even after hundreds of skulls. Others had multiple drops on less skulls. RNG was king.
    7) The skull count bug put a downer for some pc players but has since been resolved.
    8) some got tired of having 10+ people at a boss

    Are these fair/ reflective?

The event has been really nice.

It is really just the polymorph and the intense farming I observed (I myself don't partake in that, too boring) at specific locations that were downs for me.

In the future, I would suggest that any event could have sort of a treasure hunt with a set percentage of people being sent to different points of Tamriel to get the next "thing" (prize, motif, etc) after fulfilling the previous search.

    Ex:

    - You get a mail with an invitation to the event. It sends you randomly to one of x number of set locations, where a quest giver will be to give you hunt directions (sort of like the treasure maps) and an item that allows you to find that particular "thing".

    - At the destination, after one figures out where it is by "solving the riddle", there will be mobs or bosses, as these locations will be set to places populated by PVE enemies.

    - Included in these locations would be also group dungeons, where people with that "treasure map type" item would be able to find a mound after defeating the final boss and completing the dungeon (obviously in a group).

    - The locations you would be sent next would be random, but with a formula to ensure that it is at least in a different province than the previous one.

    - If one is grouped, then the obtained "next quest and treasure map" is shared with the players in the group, for people who prefer to go around doing this with a set group of friends.

This type of treasure hunt event might reduce the type of farming we saw in the Witches Festival and also promote traveling back to areas that some have never gone back to after completing them.

    Just an idea!

I find it a good thing that lots of people were incentivized to go after WBs, dolmens and delve bosses. The only problem I have is when a particular boss attracts so many high damage people to it that the boss dies in about a second and it's rather difficult to land a hit, let alone get just enough damage in to get a skull.

Still some time left for us PC players and I'm thankful for that. I haven't gotten a single mask even though I've opened up hundreds of boxes, I was able to get the achievement on one toon and level him up to 47. I'm hoping by the end of the event my second toon will be high in level with the achievement as well...though it will be nice to not see all those skeletons anymore. :P

I'd call that a good summary. Some of the things in the negative part are really just the natural consequence of a limited time event that has rewards you can acquire, and there isn't much ZOS could do to prevent them, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be in that list.

Some of your ideas here sound closer to the way the New Life Festival is going to work (and others don't), so it will be very interesting to see how that plays out as it's a very different format for a limited time event than the Witches Festival has been.

Would just add that the title alone wasn't a great reward.

I found it a great event, and will miss the double XP, so much I wanted to do with it, only half leveled 3 Alts as focused more on boosting my Main' CP. Finally hit 531 :) but 30 to go.

I like the event buzz. Imperial City event was excellent. But agree motifs and recipe rate was too good. They could have dragged it out.

I too cam now feel the XP pressure back off which is nice. Rather than think I wont do this or that as its not productive, it matters less near cap which is cool.

    I think, largely fair.
Negative #3 - I didn't mind the look so much as the sound of the skeleton walking.

Negative #6 - Looooong after I finished the 100-skull achievement I managed to buy a pumpkin and scarecrow from others who had them drop seemingly every 20 or 30 plunders. On the very last day of the event, down to just a handful of hours to the end, I got my very first (and only) mask drop.

The RNG mask issue reminded me of the recent imperial city double tel var / increased scamp and skin event, which feels like the pain people feel from going through vet maelstrom for the 300th time and getting a prosperous 2handed maul on a altmer sorc. There needs to be a mechanism that tracks your number of completions of thing-X and once you hit triple digits you start getting serious about the item being:
    1) Armor - only in a weight that you are currently wearing. No more heavy for someone in all light, for example.
    2) Weapon - only a type that you have leveled and spent skill points in. No more bows for someone with a bow level of 3 and zero skill points spent there.
    3) Armor trait - only from the traits that you are currently wearing. No prosperous if you aren't wearing any. No divines if you are wearing all training. No infused if you are wearing divines and well fitted.
    4) Weapon trait - only from the list of role abilities you've spent points on and what you are using. No sharpened if your abilities are all healing and tanking role and gear traited defending. No defending if your skills are all dps role and you are wielding sharpened.

There would still be an amount of randomness. If you've got armor of 3 divines and 2 infused, a monster set well fitted and prosperous, then STFU if you receive a well fitted drop - it was in the list of what you have chosen to wear.

This would be true 'smart loot'.

There's a time and place to teach people that even if they put in extraordinarily overabundant amounts of effort they can still lose. A game is not that time or place.
