Which DLC should I choose: Thieves or Dark Bratherhood?

I want to buy a DLC but now I can afford only for one. I've already got Orsinium and Imperial City. So my question is which one is better and what do You reccomend: Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild?
I used to be an adventurer like you. Then I took an arrow to the knee.

    TG

It has good ways to make gold (Tip board, Haggling passive) and the crafted sets are better (Tava and Alchemist)

The Theives Guild I feel has a more longer more indepth storyline if you are interested in questing, the thieves guild skill line is more useful if you use stealing to farm gold. However saying all that the Blade of Woe from the Darkbrotherhood is a lot of fun I like the litany of blood achievement too. The pardon edict from the thieves guild is also useful and they drop from thieves troves which you can also get via the DLC. I also think MoL Trial comes with the Thieves Guild...

    Thieves Guild.

It has better characters, the skill line is more universally useful in general criminal activity (DB is pretty much just about murder) and it has a new trial if you're into group PvE.

Personally I say Thieves Guild, the main quests give you an armor set that is really good survival armor as rewards.
As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.

The Blade of Woe from the DB DLC is only a necessity if you know you will regularly participate in the Justice System e.a. killing people.

Other than that... there is not much DB can give you.

TG however will give you access to one of the 4 trials - you will want to have that sooner or later.

Not only that, but the TG skill line passives are much more useful than those in DB.

As far as characters and story goes, this is all about personal preference, although I am more fond of the TG (again) characters and story.

All in all, those are very similar DLCs, the only thing that makes a noticeable difference is the trial, which makes TG a must have.

If you like to be sneaky and kill some random dudes, take DB.
If you like to be less sneaky and kill much more random dudes, take TG.

If you are a crafter, see what craftable armor sets you like better.

Dark Brotherhood is almost a necessity, if only for it gives you the Blade of Woe. Other than that the questline is well crafted, you meet old faces from the Alliance Questlines like Naryu and Razum-dar. However in order for you to thoroughly enjoy the Brotherhood quests you should be a stamina character. Nightblade is a bonus cause the Cloak ability REALLY helps.

I wouldn't say Stamina necessarily as the cloak is a magicka ability try using Shadow dancer set it's the magicka equivalent of nights silence this works well for my husband but you can do well with any class I use a stamina templar . But if you are having a character specifically for this content then nightbaldes do have an edge.

If you can, I would suggest you save up your coins and get the bundle that includes the 4 dlc. It would be worth waiting a month and saving up your coin as it is 4 DLC in one, and would include Wrothgar and IC as well as the TG and DB you are looking at playing. Additionally, IC is a great Nightblade zone as well, so that's 3 Nightblade zones. Its worth the wait in my view. I just wish the price on this bundle matched what it would cost for me to go buy the new gold edition, or at the very least applied to Europe and US megaservers.

    US/AD - Arondonimo - Vet Altmer Sorcerer | US/AD - Azumarax - Vet Dunmer Dragon Knight

    US/AD - Shirari Qa'Dar - Vet Khajiit Nightblade | US/AD - Ndvari Mzunchvolenthumz - Vet Bosmer Nightblade
US/EP - Yngmar - Vet Nord Dragon Knight | US/EP - Reloth Ur Fyr - Vet Dunmer Sorcerer

    EU/DC - Dragol gro-Unglak - Vet Orc Dragon Knight | EU/DC - Targan al-Barkan - Vet Redguard Templar

Well I don't care about the story lines that much, but the really endgame stuff you will need are better in TG. MoL trial and the sets that comewith it and Tava and clever alchemist craftable sets.

I never even finished both storylines and not that much into thieving or just running around murdering npcs

    Depends on your own opinion,
Myself would choose Dark Brotherhood just because of the full on reason that it's The Dark Brotherhood.
If you look at gameplay wise (money making, more in return of everything), I would choose for Thieves guild.
The passives are way stronger than Dark Brotherhood and the money making is faster and better.
My personal opinion goes to Dark Brotherhood, but if you really look at everything go for Thieves guild.

Hope you have a lot of fun,
