    I think you should extend this for Xbox and PS players as well. I do not play on consoles nor own any. I just think it's a fair thing to do.

    Why? The achievements are not broken for them. They can earn it now while PC players cannot.

    The suggestion is probably because of the double XP. If ZOS are extending the event, they are also extending the double XP. PC players may not be able to get the achievement now, but they still have the double XP, meaning they will get double XP for a week longer than Console.

    As a console player, I'm really divided on this decision.

    First, I do not think that it is fair that PC players get a week longer to enjoy double experience, especially considering that console players had update 13 stuff happen during the event time. On the one hand, it was easier to farm skulls pre-1T. On the other hand, farming skulls post-1T was rewarding in a different way, since you could also farm out the new armor sets.

    Honestly, the market is so saturated with recipes and HJ motifs, I really DO want the event to end on Nov. 1st. On console, it's already annoying enough to try to find motifs in guild traders without a search feature, filter, or convenient UI. Layer that with hundrerds of HJ listings and you get a system where if your motif doesn't sell in 2 days, it's lost forever within the tab. However, the masks are a different story. They're quite rare, and, in some cases, players have farmed hundreds of skulls and gotten 1 or no masks. Extra time could make a difference for these people. The price has dropped on these masks, but I think that they will be of value to newer players once the event is over.

    Whatever decision ZOS makes, I hope that it's not made lightly. Few console players have really likely clicked and read this thread since the plunder skull bug does not apply to them, but eventually they will become aware of PC players getting an extra week of double experience and mask drops. Preferential treatment towards PC players coupled with the fact that there is no platform transfer system in place can lead to losing console players.

    Valid points about the double experience issue and masks. Unfortunately I think ZOS is in a no win situation. If they also extended it for consoles then some PC players would complain. Not sure if they could end the achievement part on time but extend the double experience and plunder skulls for consoles to 11/8.

    That's some good news. Thank you guys for extending the event!

    Hopefully the developers will be able to patch the issue soon. Do you guys have a time frame as to when you might have a fix?

    don't worry, they do it with next monday's patch...

    timeframe?
    09AM = patch
    12 AM = patch is almost finished, we're putting some loose ends together
    02 PM = "we're looking to end maintenance in nothing more than 1 hour"
    03:30 PM = "we've found a little issue regarding this minor patch of OT, we're looking into it.. stay tuned for an update"
    03:45 PM = " the issue has been found, plunder skulls were not counting for the achievement; dev's are working for a solution at the moment. We're aiming to bring servers up in nothing less than 2 hours from now"
    06 PM = "we're finishing tests now, just have a little more patience pls"
    06:30 PM = "servers are about to go live in 10 minutes; download the patch and have a great evening"

    07 PM = starting ESO
    07:45 PM = "we're bringing the servers down in 5 minutes, due to an issue where the plunder skills dropping from all enemies now"

    Hi everyone,

    After yesterday’s PC maintenance concluded, we ran into an issue where gathering Plunder Skulls for the Witches Festival event was not incrementing your progress toward all Plunder Skull-related achievements including Plunder Skull Enthusiast, Plunder Skull Aficionado, and Plunder Skull Fanatic. While we made an effort to hotfix this today, we found that the fix will instead need to be included in the next PC incremental patch, tentatively scheduled for Monday, October 31.

    We understand this greatly impacts your ability to complete these special achievements, which are only available for the duration of the event, and are not able to grant any earned skulls retroactively. Therefore, we’ll be extending the Witches Festival for PC/Mac players by one week so you can complete these achievements, and the event will now end on Tuesday, November 8 at 10:00am ET.

    Thanks for your understanding, and enjoy the extended festivities.

    Many, many thank you's! Very much appreciated!

    Oh well, I guess I can live with another week of farming skulls in search of those masks that the RNG appears to have decided are not for me. :smiley:

    @ZOS_GinaBruno Thank you. That isn't exactly what I proposed (until November 9), but close enough for all but political commentary purposes. :)

    Regarding the "fairness" of extending or not extending for console players: I don't care either way.

    I'm glad ZOS is giving PC/Mac players extra time to work on the achievements in the wake of the bug they introduced, even though they have no legal requirement to do so. I see their choice as willingness to provide some kind of compensation to the player community affected by the problem their bug created, and that's a good thing in my opinion. In this case, the compensation offsets any real harm (assuming the concept of real harm makes sense in this context, which I'm not sure it does).

    I'm interested in the achievements as a completionist, not for any perceived advantage they might give me. My completionist streak is the only reason I support extending the event due to the skull counter bug. The only HJ item I'd be caught dead wearing is the bow. I'm still collecting all the motifs for the achievement--and giving away motifs I don't need because finding takers for free motifs is hard enough.

    I'm not worried about "fairness" to me-as-a-PC/NA-player vs. a separate group of players with separate characters in a separate instance of Tamriel on a separate server with whom I have no interaction outside the forums (console or PC/EU).I don't think that other group should be worried about "fairness" vs. PC/NA. The different instances of Tamriel don't interact. If ZOS extends for console too, that's fine--it doesn't affect PC/NA Tamriel. If not, that's fine too--they aren't affected by the bug. ZOS's separate upgrade cycles for PC/Mac and console guarantee "unfairness." Live with it or go elsewhere.

    For those who think going elsewhere will solve their problem, I'll tell you a secret I've learned after 25+ years working in the real world. The difference between organization A and organization B, regardless of the number of employees, is not the problems. It's the proportions of and twists on the same problems. The same holds true for MMOs.

    I'm very happy for you guys on PC that have an extra week of this great festival.

    But honestly, if you have an extra week of double exp (which is extremely valuable to level alts or grinding CP), just to get a useless achievement that maybe 5% of community care about, I don't see why console players wouldn't have that extra week too.
    If then you would say that WE get an advantage, just make the skulls stop counting toward the achievement on nov. 1st. There. All platforms get equal bonuses and penalties.

    Seriously, as a semi-casual player with a full-time job and a family, playing time is the most valuable ressource in the game. If PC gets double-value of this play time for an additionnal week, I would greatly appreciate if console players get it too.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno Thank you.

    A couple of questions;

    1) Will un-opened skulls still count towards the achievement if we do not open them between now and the fix?

    2) Will the skulls continue to drop all the additional recipes? I.E. Can we still farm Hollowjack stuff?

    For number 1 no, they only count when you get them

    For number 2, yes!

    @BurningLobster I don't think so, I think skulls are supposed to be counted when they drop, not when they're opened.

    Seems unfair to extend it for PC/Mac but not for console as well. Most people don't care about achievements and are only interested in the benefits of an extra week of double XP and farming skulls.

    It sucks it will be until the 31st, but thank you for extending the event! I've seem to have lost some progress a day or so ago anyways, so this is more than needed.
    They miss out on a worthless achievement and get an extra week of double XP?

    It isn't worthless to me and many others and not being able to do the event should be handled like this, but dang, what a ridiculous thing to complain about.

    50 people standing on various bosses / dolmens, using light attacks or just spamming one skill to loot the skulls, doesn't need any skill and thus it does make the achievement worthless for not only me but everyone. It doesn't make you any better player or shows the hard work required to achieve it. There are ways of farming the skulls and people by all means are doing it.
    So an achievement which shows how good you are at farming!!! No thanks! It's worthless .

    I can't believe you are seriously arguing this. To you it is useless, to me it isn't. And pressing keys or moving a mouse doesn't require skill in the first place. We aren't doing anything spectacular here. :#

    In the end you (and people like you) are complaining just to complain and are butt hurt over the extension of the EXP boost for PC players or just...well, salty for some reason.

    So it is normal that while I collect Plunder Skulls the achievement stays still ? (currently stuck at 50).

    A couple of questions:
    1. Will I have to start collecting Plunder Skulls from 0 after hot-fix ? (or I will keep those 50 I have and only have to collet another 50 ? )
    2. The event is extended by week ( till 8 November). Currently crow store says that 6 days left. Will this be updated and when ?

    I can't find any mention of patch notes for today...
