Your last post on the subject is still on the first page, no need for more spam.
    Here, I'll help you.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

No, I'm excited that ZOS has made some unique items with effects, added new functionality to the game, diversifying it and I'll be able to use it soon.

The crown store has been boring and bland; this is a way for me to support a game I really enjoy whilst attaining hard to get cosmetics.

Humanity's oldest professions: prositution, stealing and gambling; funny thing is we enjoy these things.

We have stealing, soon we'll have crown crates; now I just need a VR edition of the lusty Argonian maid and i'll be set.

I compare it to Las Vegas, the odds are always in the favor of the house just like all odds in gambling are. The odds are better in Vegas than ESO as there is no RNG .....

They are not going to give everyone everything they want for 10 crates, you will spend more money for the item you want versus what you would of paid for it out right ......

Believe it was calculated that to get a atronoch mount from scratch (nothing purchased) it would cost you 3200, and for a complete set your in over 10k and increasing. Yeah the gambling thing is gonna hit hard lol.instead of selling us something for 50 dollars :P they're effectivly selling it to us for 3200. which is just a staggering thing...

I hope the title of this thread is just a bait?

But if so, a bait for what?

And if not, I feel really sorry for you OP cause you will need way more than 33k crowns to get your desired unique items with effects from the clown crates.

    RNG yes.
Though some may not get one of the apex mounts directly from crates, he/she will eventually accumulate enough gems to buy the mount wanted.
Doing that can very well be expensive, yes, but some people have disposable income.
What they choose to do with it is entirely up to them.
I'd choose buying what I want outright over gambling any day but that's not the case it seems.
I don't know whether ZOS takes the feedback from PTS and increases the chance/modifiers conversion rate.
If you don't like/agree with crates, don't spend a dime, but there are those who want new items and are ready to pay.

Feel free to look at your own moralities before judging someone else on theirs. No one here has lived their life without a little moral slip here and there. Please don't begin to tell me otherwise.

I'm not excited about the crates one way or the other, but I'm glad that the OP is. If it is what he/she enjoys and has the funds to accomplish that level of enjoyment, I say go for it!

Have fun with the crates. You would have better odds gambling in Vegas. Heck purchase some crates via the Elite Vendor In Cyrodiil or IC and see the odds and how long it takes to get the items you wanted. If you think the Crown Store will be any different good luck. I like to see what I am buying and I refuse to waste hard earned Alliance Points or TelVar hoping when I open a crate the item I wanted is in it. Same holds true for wasting my money on crates offered in the Crown Store.

I know of several players who have wasted thousands of Alliance Points or TelVar on Crates in hopes of getting the set pieces they were looking for. In every instance they maybe got one or two pieces of what they were looking for or several of the same pieces over and over again. But, normally they all got items they did not need. So Nuff said on the Crates.

Ironically, of all cash shop additions, scamboxes are least harmful gameplay-wise, simply because they are just containers; they conceal price, make things more expensive (which is the reason why otherwise loyal whales object now), enable ZOS to prey on players vulnerable to gambling etc., but have zero impact on the game. Items from scamboxes are different matter, but if you take items from (as a result of containing them) toxic, shift-inducing scamboxes, items that people buy/will buy scamboxes for, and put them into the cash shop for direct purchase, they will not become somehow magically innocuous, no shift there, nothing whatsoever.
In other words, a player playing a game could not care less whether ZOS screws the game in order to drive sales and introduces appealing item X, which is directly purchasable, or item Y, which is only indirectly pruchasable. Either way, he will end up with a game where rewards X, Y can not be obtained by playing, a game lacking mechanic to get them, or lacking any fun, meaningful mechanic, because the one in place is deliberately as annoying as possible.
I love how judgmental people are around here.

A bit too ongoing moral slip, let alone unacknowledged.
Anyway I do not scam customers, so indeed feel free to judge.

Some are actually excited. I'm largely indifferent to them since I look at the loot boxes in Overwatch compared to what ESO will offer and of the two, ESO's are better value.

I think most of these people are excited by the ability to get old limited items again, not the crates themselves.

In the PTS test crates, only a third of the non-consumables were retired items. Many of those were regular items that had been retired, only a few were limited time exclusives. The other two thirds were never seen before brand new items.

I hope that a list will be published of what is in the crates and what the odds are of winning them for all the excited people.

    Someone just wanting attention....again.

Figuring we're going to lose this thing, I'm already planning a proper farewell.

Can't give my crowns away and can't give away stuff I've obtained with them. So, I'm creating gold crafted sets for my friends, keeping the vendor on my best trade guild stocked with others.

I'll thus have plenty of gold to hand out to buddies when I bid this game my final adieu.

It's not the crap crate response option I preferred. Can't give money, though, to a company that preys on a weakness they've fostered and depend upon among their customers, to extend game content, to bleed them for money in such a manner as well.

But, hey, most of those payday loan people probably sleep well at night too.
