Question about buying used ESO copy on console

I've played PC since release but recently I've been debating on trying it on my Xbox to enjoy the recliner a bit more. I was at gamestop the other day and saw quite a few used copies and almost got it since it was pretty cheap. My question is, do these console versions have a game code that I enter to activate on my account and if so could it allow the old owner to come back on his old install of the game, contact Zeni, and try to take back over? I know our accounts are password protected but with the game code would that create a loophole? I'm just curious as I've never bought a used copy of a MMO before.

Interesting question. I know people have bought the game used and set it up just fine. Don't know all the details.

You can buy a new copy of the game for $19 from amazon with a code to download it, so that is not too bad. It's entertained me for 3 years now, pretty good return on the investment.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

N O it's a game just like any other console game.
Put the disc in and play or share the disc and let anyone else play.

Similar to PC the game save is tied to the Xbox live gamertag or PSN account.
The only difference between a disc and digitally (speaking for Xbox one) is that the digital game can be played by anyone if the person who owns the digital lincense assigns one specific console as their home console and that console is online. Anyone can play the game but only the account holder can play their account.

Everyone else has to have their own account.

No. It does not have a game code. Consoles don't work like that. Pretty much all you are buying is a license. There is nothing linking that disc to any account.

Console don't need a game version thingy. As long as you have the disc you can pop it in, create an account and play.

If you have multiple psns or Xbox live accounts you can make multiple accounts from one game copy.

Used copies of ESO don't have codes for the disk. The console merely checks if your disk is in the drive. If yes, you can play. If no, you can't (unless you also bought a digital copy or something). You will have access TO everything that is on the disk, unless it was specifically coded to require an additional purchase. (I believe Destiny had some DLC areas on the original disk but would not unlock it unless you bought the DLC or glitched the install, for example.)

Used disks *might* come with codes for DLC. These codes are one-time-use only, and attach the DLC to the logged in account at the time the code is redeemed. When buying used it is best to assume all codes have already been redeemed by the prior owner. (You can still try them, you might get lucky, but probably not).
Why be normal when you can be better?

The only code you get is if you bought the disc that came with something like the Imperial Edition. The game itself didn't need a code but the special add ons or DLC did. BTW, pretty sure you can get this brand new for $19.99. Not sure how much the used versions are.
