It's really ambiguous. You dont see him die. The events of the quest and his dialogue suggest that if you make a certain decision he will die as a result. It's never confirmed that he dies though. Quite the opposite, actually.0 -

✭There are so many annoying NPCs in this game, tbh. So many.
The ones that chase you to give a quest. Nilthis swam to a little island just now to tell me to 'hold, sera!' He bravely crossed a field of Alits and snipping mudcrabs to stand on my backside, watching me fish.
Stuga isn't a problem anymore. I did her quest on all my characters. Annoying but a sure fire way to get rid of her. Permanently.
Still doing Mages/FG on some alts so yeah the courier gals are annoying for sure. Good thing I don't spend too much time in cities. Better still that they get deleted from sight when the quests are over.

Shalidor. He's such poorly portrayed. Everything wrong with him has already been said here.
Valaste. "Nobody likes me all my friends are books..." Go out. Make friends. Stop moping around. Have you read the books she has to study for the quests? There's nothing out of the ordinary there. If she's going crazy it's probably because she needs to get out more.
Sheogorath. He was good in Oblivion/Skyrim. Here he sounds like his lines were written by someone else for sure. They are just bland and random. Nothing I would associate with an insane deity. He was voiced by someone else though and that's where nost of the magic was lost. The new voice actor sounds like he's trying too hard to imitate Wes and it's painful to hear. Too too painful.

The guys from the main quest... I'd say more disappointing than annoying. They vanish when the questline is done so they're inconsequential in the long run. Unlike the Shad Astula chick. Can someone just give her an invitation already!!!
The three alliance leaders. I've only done the Pact quests so far but none of them strikes me as a particularly worthy leader. Jorun sounds like he's so bored. Yeah sure.... we have some problems some people to kill before they kill us.... I'm sure our forces will win in the end... yawn. Emeric sounds like he's also bored. This crown makes my ears look funny. Your ass is too skinny in that dress. I never wanted any of this. Can't someone else just take the crown from me already, I want to sit back and relax. Ayrenn.... I have not crossed paths with her. Apart from mudballing her in the events and killing her in the Mages guild quest. But she doesn't sound convincing at all. Oh yea. I'm not like the other high elves. I'm different. Totally. You just have to take my word for it.

Zeira. She's so unsure of herself. I'm sure we can do this. I think. I hope. They don't need to know the details, so long as they do their job right, right? Right. And in the end I still get to lead even though I screwed up several times. Awesome.
Hildegarde. I don't like her. Her accent is weird. She has none of the characteristics an assassin requires. She's too gullible. Can't keep a secret. Breaks under pressure. Just stands there being cute but, you know, she's actually a fierce killer because she can turn into a werewolf. That's not even that rare an ability tbh... They would probably be better served if they let her turn Kor and let him do the job.

But most of these can be avoided/ignored/removed when their quests are done. The bards..... they're there eternally. Every. Single. Day. New characters. Veteran characters. Every single one of them is plagued by these singing nuisances.2 -
