share transfer ESO game/data/progress on 2 xbox consoles, using hard drive or original digital copy code?

Ok so I switched from pc to ESO on xbox platform using digital copy code, I have just purchased a second xbox and my question is how do I get E.S.O onto my other console even when im logged into my linked gamer profile on my new console there is no ESO game listed under ready to install yet all my other games are ? could I use the original digital copy code again on the newest console ? or can I just transfer current full game data over from my seagate external hard drive from my oldest console to my newest. please help ! argh

?? you sure mate ?? will it be available on both my oldest one and my new ? can I have 2 home consoles ?? if the digital transfer copy is registered to my gamer tag surely I should have it on both consoles when I sign in on either. I will try that though thanks bro.

You will be able to sign in on both, but not at the same time obviously. This is nothing to do with ESO but how Xbox registers digitally owned content. Certain content needs you to set the console as your home (I think you can change your home console up to 3 times per year).

thanks, so can I only set 1 console as home then ? I don't want to multiple log as I have other gamer tags I just want my game on both consoles my partner wants to join the fight. just want it on the console upstairs and downstairs...you'd think it would be simple.

I bought an Xbox One S, I set it to my home xbox and I am able to log into any gamertag (4 GT's across both xboxes) on either of the 2 consoles and play ESO. Not sure if that answers your question haha!

when you got ESO for your console did you purchase the game or switch over from pc using digital transfer copy code ? if any forum admin could muck in that would be great.

ok so I linked my email and changed my second xbox to my' home console ' in the hope that my digital copy of ESO would be available for download on my new console, but still my digital copy of ESO isn't showing up as 'ready to be installed' my first question still stands is it even possible ? ? my next hope would be moving all ESO data to an external hard drive and plugging this into my new console...which seems silly given the fact games are linked to my gamer tag/email account.....is there anyone else that has had the same problem or have any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated...

It is possible because I've done it. Any Xbox you log into should have all of your games available to download. If it does not show up as "ready to be installed" search for it in the store. It should allow you download it from there. If it still doesn't, then this may be an Xbox live issue and not an ESO issue.

need some admin advice I think ! I'm currently about to transfer game data using external hard drive because it is just not showing up even though I'm logged into my gamertag on new console. same things happened when I switched over from 360 to box one lost my purchased content. still sitting on an old 360 hard drive in no way was my purchases saved to my gamertag/email and all eso internal saved data cant be copied to this seagate hard drive....i copied, it would only allow me to copy ESO the game itself to my external and not my saved data that's saved internally to my 'old' console no option to transfer this only delete it...there is no saved data on my new console nothing saved internally it doesn't save games to your gamertag surely just the console. I'm well over my head confused and could use some advice from the Admins on what exactly it is there doing with digital transfer copies...and how would I get them onto a new xbox and my saved data if my old one gave up the ghost !?

at least I'm sure they can only give me so much advice, before I start banging on Microsofts door about this I feel it's a combination of the both. either that or I'm stupid or plain unlucky....how did you do it then mate if you have done it before you simply signed in and had it ?? there ready and waiting to be installed ???

The save file is on the Xbox one cloud but technically it's on the ESO server as the Xbox one save file is pointless other than settings. The files are linked to you ESO profile and your Xbox one gamertag.

The game is on your Xbox one profile digitally.
You cannot use a different gamertag to play your old account. Not dlc or crowns or characters.
You can only share the digital game on any console that YOU are logged on

Others can play the base game NOT YOUR ACCOUNT so if one console is set as your "home" Xbox one under the original gamertag, then others can share the game only. No save files. Your other gamertags are pointless and only one gamertag can be set as home so if you set the wrong gamertag, you need to change it. (You can only change it 3 times a year subject to Xbox terms and limitations)

There is no save file or data to transfer. It's all in the cloud under your original gamertag only.
You can install the base game from the store but understand there are more than one sku so you need to go to ready to install under my games and not try and get it from the store.

Disc games are never under ready to install as they aren't digitally licensed so you'll need a disc but DO NOT use a disc for this game

Lastly if you've put any game on another gamertag stop doing that. Use one gamertag only for purchases, etc. other gamertags should really never be created as people need to sign in their own or create their own. Using someone else's tag is against Xbox terms.

Just an FYI. They should log in as a guest

So basically what im saying is i have 2 consoles one old one new. both set up with my main gamer tag. my old console downstairs on wifi connection, my new console upstairs wired into router. On my old console i can play my digital transfer copy and game no problem all is good. on my new console upstairs however there is no ESO no option to download it from the store, no game sitting in ready to install....digital copy code has already been redeemed on my old console so this did not work on the new console, i also tried to copy game over from old console to new console using sea gate hard drive i managed to get the game on the new consoles internal storage but when i went to launch the game in 'games' on the new console i got a message that says 'if you have a game disc insert it now if you purchased this online make sure you are signed in to xbox live if you do not have the right to play it you will need to get it at the xbox store' ESO digital copy and saved data is supposedly linked to my gamer tag digitally ?? the only thing i can think is my digital transfer copy was only meant for one console. Any thoughts !!?? people are telling me there's worked fine. Any admin tell me whats going on or if in fact the digital copy code was meant for one console, if i will even be able to load my saved game data on my new console or even ESO game 'without re purchasing the game' and if i do that will my saved game data be linked to my gamer tag or my old consoles internal storage !?

    @Solcrab

    Here is how it works....
    - The game digital license you redeemed is under the gamertag. Nothing is assigned to a console ever.
    - Xbox one allows you to log into your gamertag on any Xbox one and play your digital licensed games and install them on any console (as long as you are logged in that console and connected to the internet)
    - There is absolutely no need to share any digital games that you own because you're logged in
    - You can also choose after logging into your gamertag to set one Xbox one as your "home console". That just allows other gamertags who may log into that one console to access your digital linceses if the console is online. It does not give anyone access to your account or saves.

-Game data is saved on the cloud under one gamertag. Whether your on one console or any other, because this is an online only game, your actual save is on ZOS' server. The save file in the cloud is mostly settings and such and only a copy of what's on the ZOS server. The ZOS server save will always overwrite your local save in this case for this specific game.

-installing the game. If you're under the gamertag that you used the digital code under, that gamertag can install and play anywhere.

The message you're getting and the experiences you're having are because you're using the wrong gamertag.

Lastly...to install and owned game, you shouldn't go to the store. You should go to My Games and Apps on the top right of the Xbox one home screen. Select it and then go to ready to install games and install it.

All owned digital licensed games are there. If you don't see it, this is because you're under the wrong gamertag.

    ***My Actual Question of clarification***

-When did you redeem the code and what gamertag were you logged in under primarily.
I ask this because multiple gamertags can be logged in all at once so when you go to redeem a code, it's important to check which gamertag you're logged in under. This is on the console or on the website at Xbox.com.

Another give away is if you've played on console prior with the transfer, log into your PC ZOS account on this site and look and see what gamertag is linked. That's the only one you can use.

No changing or sharing/swapping as far as saves go

Hey mate thanks for the advice but yer exactly, I already new most of that from your last post..basically the reason im confused by it all is ive done all of that already and for some reason it is not there. I'm using the same gamer tag that I always have used the same gamer tag my digital copy is linked to in my account purchases on ESO account, the same gamer tag that I downloaded all content to I have no other gamer tags...i think it is a case where the digital transfer code I was given for pc to xbox must be a one time download use only ? It is the only option left after taking all possible other routes of solution...there is no option to install the game in games and apps on my new console and no sign of downloading from xbox store..very weird personally considering I have already purchased the game twice now once for pc and half price for digital transfer and now this....this is still an ongoing thread still no answers typically to do with not being able to download E.S.O onto my new console without a game disc, but a digital copy is linked to my gamer tag. And can still play on my old console...

My husband bought the digital version of this game. We both play (on different Gamertags, on different Xbox, and sometimes at the same time) using that digital copy.

This is possible because the Xbox I use is set to his home Xbox. An Xbox account can play any game purchased digitally under their own gamer tag on any Xbox. Setting an Xbox to "home" for that account lets all others who log into that account access all games installed.

Playstation works the same way, as does the Xbox Gold and Playstation Plus subscriptions. I hope this helps you sort out the issue?

It's not a one time use code. The code is the same digital game sku that others purchased on console at release.
The only differences are that yours was discounted and your server save came with it.

    On your new console.
Log on that console with the gamertag that owns the digital game.
Go to my games and apps...under ready to install, and select the game to install.

    That's it.

I have had my console repaired twice, and then sold the third one and purchased a fourth.
Now I have my fourth Xbox one that's just 4 months old and my kids have one.

We both were able to redownload my copy as their console is setup as my home Xbox one. That allows anyone on that console to download any of my ready to install digital games.

I had to download my game to but only while logged into my profile as my unit isn't my home Xbox one.

After each unit, I selected the game, installed it (downloaded actually) and picked up where I left off.

Yer I tried this my digital copy registered to my gamer tag must be corrupt as when I'm logged in on my gamer tag on my new console there is no option to download the game not in ready to install or on the store nowhere to be found I had to purchase a second copy of the game on my partners gamer tag on my new console. So we found a way round it but I am not happy about it...if anyone else has had this problem feel free to comment...not a happy customer.

Honestly this is a simple solution. Call Xbox official support. Should be resolved in a few hours unlessyour gamertag was banned.
No need to buy a new copy of the game. It's an Xbox licensing issue or that it's a operator error.

Contact Xbox support on the phone.
