Should healing be allowed in duelling?

I think it's absurd when some folks, usually stam and then almost always stam Sorcs, whine at the end when I kite or LoS. They're lucky we're not in open world so I can't lay down a cold fire >.>

I've since learned that kiting is ineffective against the really good ones. The real strategy is just to lay down the damage to unnerve them before they get rolling.

Healing as absolutely allowed. The only things frowned upon are proc sets, resource poisons, and other forms of cancer, but that doesn't stop some.

Dueling is deuling, and people are allowed self heals. Healers generally don't duel, and tanks dueling tanks is rather hilarious.

I feel like cheating if I heal myself back up with breath of life. Like in dark souls and bloodborn, healing is not polite and not right in PVP.

Anyone who can fully heal themselves is a very good healer. Must have a large magicka pool, good regen and champion points in blessed. But to do this the player will have to wear light armour so is very squishy and will have mediocre damage which balances the duels. So even if you can heal to full health, against a good damage dealer, that health will disappear in seconds unless the player is good and wears their opponents resources down before going in for the kill. Taking away a healers abilty to heal In a duel is basically providing the dps hogs with an easy free meal. Not fair at all in my book.

I like where your head is at but, just so you know, you can be a monster healer in heavy armor nowadays.

Thanks :) I've tried that build once. Result was zero damage capabilities. But I may have done it wrong. I tend to swap out my healers gear depending on what he's doing. For groups I use all light armour to maximise heals and damage, for duels I put on some heavy armour for longevity which reduces my damage and heals. Still playing around with it though. Either way my heals define my style of combat so I should be allowed to continue using it.

I do the following on my magplar.

2 unmatched heavy monster pieces with health bonus and magic enchants
    5 julianos
    3 will power
    2 Magus
    64 points into magic
5 heavy, 2 light (mostly infused)
50/50 blue CP split between thurmatauge and elemental expert

I end up with 46.1k of magic and 3.2kish Spell Power after buffs and my resistences are 25 and 23k. Add in a shield and I'm good.

You can do this on a dedicated healer and probably pull 20k breath of lifes if you felt like going that route.

Thanks for that list of goodies. Gonna take note of this. Over 3k damage is very appealing :)

You're gonna have to use Entropy, and spell power glyphs on your jewelry and weapon. Mine sits at 2411 I think but shoots up a ton in battle. I've seen it spike to 3.5k but that was in Cyrodiil and I was probably getting an outside boost.

In my opinion, healer and tanks shouldn't be duelling, only DPS allowed for skills and damage competition, healing yourself back up just means a reset of the fight.

I play as a healer, so my build is high mag regen with low DPS. Did 2 duels yesterday that just ends nowhere after a long fight, cos I just heal myself back up every time, so what's the point? I can't win cos low damage done, opponent can't win cos I'm a sustained healer. Lol.

Wear them down until their resources are gone and then slowing hack into them. If you've got a large magicka pool you should have a decent enough amount of dps to hack into them. But stalemates are going to be inevitable with a game as diverse as this, especially with the range in character level. Max level dps will give you much more trouble especially with cc's and stuns. The hard part is trying to deal damage between your heals.

Like street fighters or Pokemon gym, they don't have heals why, cos then the fight doesn't drag on forever, they have rounds which resets each of your health for fairness.

If I couldn't heal it would be game over for me as soon as the bow ultimate started firing.

I already self impose the no potions rule for myself when it's a friendly duel. Last night some guildies and I all slotted 2-handers with dizzying swing and had duels on a high bridge in Orsinium. I threw one javelin, and then decided to restrict that skill as well for the spirit of the fight where all knock off wins came from either the 2hander skill or clumsiness.

(Weird bug: on a different character, a take flight knock off caused my DK to recoil off the bridge far in the opposite direction resulting my forfeit rather than a win.)

Anything should be allowed in dueling. Some people ban certain sets in tournaments or whatever, but not healing.

The one thing I do wish would happen is it took people's ultimates off them when a duel started. Someone starting a dueling an ultimate us pretty stupid

Healing is part of your build. Dueling is a way to test your build. If the game allows something, unless specified ahead of time it's allowed.

I think the general opinion of the pvpers regarding duels back when it was announced was without class balance, you are looking at a Magicka DK or tanky build as "Best In Class".

That said, you should be able to heal and you should have the ability to negate heals without having to slot a cheese item. But without the proper class balance us pvpers have been asking for, duels are nothing more than time-sinks to make up for the huge LFG finder ques.

Currently these classes can deal with healing:
    - Templars with dark flare
    - sorcs with curse/negate/streak combo (negates stop a Magicka healer only)
    - NB with fear (can also break block but also help you drain stam with out cheese poisons)
    Minno - DC - Forum-plar Extraordinaire
    - Guild-lead for MV
    - Filthy Casual

Did... did you... did you just reference Pokemon Go? Cause like... rest and health pots... Snorlax for the win! Lmao.

Imo every move you can use in a duel or armor or anything should be allowed, mainly because there will always be someone whom uses them... plus some builds are built around that very idea. Healthplars, DKs, etc... no heals for them would just be GG.
