    People do things like this.

In Guild Wars 1 you could leave the tutorial area at level 2, and at level 10 you stopped getting experience from the enemies there. Some people figured out that if you let the enemies kill you over and over they would level up, and then you could kill them for XP (and all the maps were instanced so this was possible). They did this over and over and over until they got to level 20, which was the maximum.

Eventually the developers gave them an achievement for it. Then it became popular enough that they added a less unreasonable way to do it.

Kinda reminds me of this guy in WoW who made a Pandaren character (The only race that doesn't start off in a faction). He levelled it all the way to 100 and hasn't left the starting area. Every expansion he grinds up to the next level cap.

Things like this are why I was confused when ZOS said in that article that they ran into problems because people were playing the game in ways they hadn't intended.

People will always play in ways you hadn't intended, some of them will put hundreds of hours into it for absolutely no reason other than to see if they can. So it really shouldn't be a surprise if you tell someone to go right and they go left and the designers should ensure that they can't completely break the game by doing it.

Which I think is the case here. It won't actually do any harm if someone reaches level 50 in the tutorial zone. It won't affect anyone else's gameplay so it should be ok to let them get on with it.

Do you mean with the Tutorial location the Wailing Prison or a starter island ?

Starter islands give the Trainee set, which is quite handy for some niche builds.

We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. They're in a way doing what i did in Skyrim. I have the levellers tower mod installed and i made myself maxlevel and then i started questing.

I see nothing wrong about grinding them up to 50 in the tutorial area.

I imagine they are doing it to see if it can be done. Unless there's hacking/ cheating involved, I say let them be.

It's not like there's much of anything worth having in there anyway.

I do not understand why the players of the maximum level (Veteran 561) come in starting areas of the game. They are trying to show their fine clothes and weapons to those who play just 1 hour?
They also call for a duel.

He didn't talk about the starting areas. For what I read this happened in the tutorial prison.
Also Vet players are currently farming set that only drop in certain areas. That's my be one reason why you see many max level players in starter areas. One Tamriel scaled those zones, so players might do some old quests, which used to be grey.

Or they may simply be enjoying the fact that they can now return to play in whichever zones they enjoyed most, instead of being restricted to the ones ZOS have decided are 'end game' zones.

I happen to like auridon, I love the feel of it and the look, I like the crafting area too. I go there to deconstruct items or upgrade gear.

I also go there and help people, donate gold, materials, craft people some gear sets, or get them started on trait research.

Max level players have their place there too.

How boring. You would level faster & have more fun just moving on. And with 1T scaling it's even more pointless.

one problem with that... you can't get access to the bank until AFTER you leave the prison.

If you're meaning the Wailing Prison, I'm surprised there's even enough to keep someone entertained for 30 levels in there.

On the starter island though, I've got a couple of toons parked on Khenarthi's Roost though since the town is relatively convenient. Duelling lowbies is pretty poor form though.

I was also on Bleakrock for a few hours the other day collecting books for Eidetic Memory which were more accessible after the One Tamriel patch. Happily answered quite a few questions from low level people in zone too.

Same in Asheron's Call. The city I stayed in had a little white rabbit that level 126 people would let kill them while afk all the time to level it. If anyone killed that rabbit no one would ever have anything to do with them ever again.

In that game the main good and bad guy would appear in-game, controlled by devs, and talk trash.
