I'm taking a break till OT comes on ps4 since it is changing the game completely. I am a fan of both mmo and Elder scrolls, I enjoyed my time so far, but waiting on ps4 release of OT

What is the general populace opinion on OT? does it make it feel more like an Elder scrolls game with MMO stuff? or does it kill the game off completely?

I started with TES 3 morrowind, and as a console gamer i was impressed with the sudden jump in large expansive worlds, plus waching the .hack series playing the games always wanted an MMO elder scrolls.

I started playing mmo with ps2 ff11 in 2004, and enjoyed it with ff14. I wanted to get eso but didn't like the oroginal design choices, i started to play when
OT was announced.

Anyway, how are the changes? was looking for this all over and can't seem to find much discussion over the changes ingeneral.

avoid logging out in busy cities, tends to lock you out of the character. other then that im loving the fact i never out lvl quests and loot is rewarded based on lvl now. Also the increase in people is a nice change, though some of the world bosses hit like loaded semi trucks sliding down hill on ice after being shot out of a cannon.

Some have been complaining about sudden overpopulation in their usual log in/off towns causing their characters to be caught in a log in crash loop. Others have complained about the incessant duelling around crafting stations and in banks. Others have complained about mobs being given much more health and being harder to defeat, and the drop chance of certain saught after armor sets being near non existent. It sounds pretty much chaotic.

Though those were only the bad parts, the update has also been much liked, such as the weapon ultimates, said ability to duel ect.

However there seems to be a growing mentality that players who decline duels are suddenly targets for harrassment.

The game feels more alive now than ever. With the changes to itemization every activity feels.wortb while. It does feel closer to a traditional elder scrolls game in that there are fewer restrictions than before.

Dueling can be a lot of fun. Great for perfecting your builds or just messing around. Some people don't like it as it gets really hectic in busy parts of main towns. To each their own really..

Some people have had issues with logging back in to a busy area. I was disconnected once when traveling to Rawl but was able to log back in right away with no problem. Others seem to have had worse experiences. Though it is extra busy right now with the Witches Festival thrown into the mix. I'm not sure how big of an issue this is, likely isolated to a small percentage of players. Maybe zos will make some tweaks to their load balancing to correct it.

Overall, you'll definitely enjoy the update after your break. There's a lot to like and it really feels like it's revitalkzed the game in quite a few ways.

kk ty for detailed opinions, sound like it is more of a positive change.

I'm used to mmorpg, and log in issues are just a expected thing with mmo. I've dealt with them in ff11, ff14 wow

that includes duel spam :) played dcuo, WoW aion so used to that as well.

So with OT they pretty much made ESO, Elder scrolls with multiplayer?

Cross faction grouping.... good for you if your faction tends to suck, bad for me cause my faction was the better of the 3.

I thought cross-faction grouping existing long before One Tamriel.

As a low level player I'm really enjoying it. Between the Gold Edition and One Tamriel I'm seeing a lot more people in the world and (when they're not dueling on the steps to the bank) it's a lot of fun.

It has made fights harder, or simply longer, than they used to be but for me that's a good thing. Before I was always over-levelled for the content I was doing and having to pick 1 or 2 skills per fight because there's no way I'd get to use them all. I was picking almost entirely based on which animation I wanted to see because it literally didn't matter what the skill did. Now it feels like there's actually a benefit to using them effectively, and doing other things like dodging and moving out of AoE attacks. It's made the combat a lot more enjoyable.

There's some less obvious benefits too. Like being able to take my crafter, who is in AD, up to Daggerfall to farm skulls with people I know. I think it's going to take me longer to appreciate the benefits of being able to move around the world freely. In most cases I still want to follow the story lines but it's nice to know it's my choice.

In dungeons yes, but not open world:

    @Danikat

AD random dungeon groups, generally net you decent players.

The other two factions... not so much.

I'm 100% AD, but what's the point of factions anymore?

Can't even find a group in Elden Root zone chat without some EP or DC players trying to get in on it. Cause they're in our zone chat too, now.

This update is a massive grind fest.

Once you find a set you want to test, by the time you find the dolmen or boss in that zone, everything is dead and you spend 80% of your time rushing to the next dolmen/boss to get at least a light attack in before 30
    players kill it.

Same rng with traits and what you get, you can spend days and days for that sharpened weapon or impen shield or divines armour and never see it.

The grind and eng in this game was really bad, this update took it to another level sadly.

There is no new content, no quests or zones to explore, no skyshards. Map of craglorn reset after spending weeks of clearing the map (back in the day when craglorn was a 1 shot you die zone from npcs). Good that Zenimax did not reset the achievments in Craglorn, that would had really ticked me off.

Maybe grinders love this update, but that rng is...just horrible.
mDKs still need a lot of love!

What do you mean the grind is worse I am finding it a heck of a lot easier. Add for testing great and build I have no issue finding a delve. Just avoid the ones close to towns. Want a true test fight a world boss

True. Sadly the daedra (theoretically the most dangerous creatures in the game?) are the complete opposite; they hit like a wet noodle.

Yes Molag Bal, I'm looking at you and your minions you're sending through your dolmens. No wonder you didn't succeed in your planemeld...

Now more generally: One Tamriel is great, it's almost a victim of it's own success, because the high numbers of players everywhere are basically trivializing all public content currently.
