Best Delve to Farm Plunder Skulls?

Is there any particular delve or group of delves that has a lot of bosses to farm the skulls?

    No, and there is a cooldown on the drop. Just do different things. Do a delve, then head to a worldboss, do a dolmen on the way. If you just play like this they will drop just fine. Also, they drop in Maelstrom Arena. Even on normal. I did two stages just to check, and got a skull from each chest. Just make sure you don't do the stages too fast, because there is a slight cooldown on drops.

    Edit: I've nearly completed the motiff set with just running around doing dalies with a friend.

    There is a problem with killing Bosses too quickly in succession. The Boss Loot Timer will prevent boss loot drops if you take too little time between kills. So, ideally, you go to one delve, kill the boss, then go to another delve, kill the boss. The cool down is about 15 to 20 minutes, which is how long it would take to go from delve to delve. The Skulls may not adhere strictly to this timer, but I would miss the other shineys the bosses drop.

    I think the cool down is shorter in the Public Dungeons that have multiple bosses, but I don't know if they drop the skulls. They should drop skulls, but I never tried this on the PTS (I hate spoiling new content for myself)

    The best delve to farm them is any delve without a crowd. If there's no crowd the bosses will respawn about every 5 minutes (unless a new player in the area comes up, which will trigger a boss to respawn sooner). You can loot a Plunder Skull every 5 minutes, so if the delve isn't populated, it's a good delve to farm them in. =)

    Mehrunes' Spite in Auridon only 1 boss, 30 second spawn timer and you get a skull every 2-3 minutes

    Been there 6 hours 77 skulls, completed the full motif pages TWICE now and almost a third time

    The best place I've found to farm skulls is normal maelstrom arena. There's a 100 percent rate from chests. It's instanced, so you don't have to compete with anybody.

    What's the cool down?

    @Strider_Roshin

    A mechanism where the Boss will drop the large list of items that frequently contains a set or unique item. Typically, about 15 to 20 minutes. If you kill them too quickly in succession, you get normal mob loot, about 3 or so trash items. However, the skull drops seem to be more like 3 to 5 minutes. How much of that is due to the population in the delve, or if it's just a setting I don't know.

    No it does not ignore, it is just you don't feel the time passed since you are killing stuff.

    This is false information. I farmed the same boss with 2 characters, and got a drop every time.

    Kill boss > loot > logout > login on second character who is already standing in front of the boss > wait for him to spawn > kill > loot > rinse and repeat.

    I am not going to share which delve I am using as there is already more people than I would prefer doing the same thing, but doing this will net you a plunder skull and boss loot every couple minutes.

    We have had to speculate, but it seems like there is a 3-5 minute cooldown between Skull drops on bosses. If you kill the same boss everytime it spawns you'll only get something every 3rd kill or so. Much easier just to run to different places. Do dungeons, or daily quest that send you to delves and such. Go complete those public dungeons, world bosses and delves you haven't done yet. It is the best time to be rewarded for completeing all these.

    So long enough for me to do VMSA and get a drop from each boss then?

    @Diminish

    I am talking about normally playing the game, not Relog Farming. The Skull timer appears to be 3 to 5 minutes. So, your not really speeding anything up by doing this. But, if it makes you feel better, go for it.

    Just like the Treasure Troves spawn rate, I bet this cool down timer gets extended in a patch soon.

    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Yes. You should have a very good droprate, if not 100%

    The cooldown is 3min, done COH I on normal started timer between each boss and at 3min timer we got skull for each boss.

    Actually, I am speeding things up. I can get twice the loot, and even more than that if I used more characters to do it, than if I were to kill a delve boss, and then wait for it to respawn.

    I can confirm, each chest at the end of one maelstrom arena round has a 100% to drop a skull.
    I usually farm my skulls in Toadstool Hollow in Cyrodiil, as it contains 5 bosses.

    But you are still waiting for the respawn timer on the boss, which should be around 5 minutes, which is longer than the respawn timer on the Skull box.

    Unless you are saying you found a boss that respawns too fast, and you can spilt that between 2 characters? If so, I'll bet you won't mention it on here, since it is very likely not intended.

    Not sure about the Cyrodiil delves, but I got a plunder skull from Hzu-Hakan, one of the sewer bosses.
    It's a little annoying that you cannot use the whistle memento while in PVP areas to reapply the buff though.

    I haven't noticed a cool down on Xbox one for me I get a skull drop every other time I kill a boss
    . The best place for me and my group to go is ilthags undertower in craglorn. We get a garunteed skull drop ever two minutes farming the first boss and running outside the dungeon and resetting the group delve! Happy farming!

    It's a festival, double XP and there's no rush so just enjoy it. You could just level up a character and get everything that drops without any farming whatsoever and get skyshards, books etc along the way.
