Calling all Tanks: Ultimate Regen Sets and combos

So, there's a few Ultimate Regen sets out there- and I'm trying to find out which sets have the best "synergy" with other sets. This is what I've come up with:

-Bloodspawn (two set bonus): 6% chance to give you 15 Ultimate when taking damage
-Blessing Of Potentates (three set bonus): Decreases the cost of Ultimates by 10%
-Akaviri Dragonguard(five set bonus): Decreases the cost of Ultimates by 15%
-Hide of the Werewolf (five set bonus): When you take damage, you gain 5 Ultimate every 5 seconds.
-Shalk's Exoskeleton (five set bonus): Minor Heroism grants you 1.5 Ultimate every 1 second.

Since the meta is that a tank should be building Ultimate (and still maintain surviability) in order to keep up Aggressive Warhorn- what sets would you combine? Would you combine two or three ultimate geneteration/deduction sets or would you prefer a tanky set with one of the above sets?

I've thought of combining the following sets for surviability (via self heals and resource regen), crowd control, and ultimate regen/deduction:

-Tremorscale, Akaviri Dragonguard, Knight's Errant
-Bloodspawn (1pc), Blessing of Potentates, Black Rose, Master Sword
-Bloodspawn, Akaviri Dragonguard, Shalk's Exoskeleton
-Troll King (1pc), Knight's Errant, Akaviri Dragonguard, Master Sword

Please let me know if you can think of better combinations. There is, of course, many different sets to add (ie: Leeching, Ebon, Alkosh) I really appreciate all the new sets that ZoS has provided!

Edit: I purposely didn't add Eternal Warrior (Gain 200 ultimate after dying) because it's one of those sets that you have to rely on failing to be worthwhile.

    I think theoretically 5 akaviri dragonguard 5 wereolf hide 2 bloodspawn would pump out the most warhorns
    But at the cost of utility such as alkosh/ ebon etc.
    With tavas + bloodspawn + alkosh i can hit a warhorn every minute easily in a four person 15s rotation even when off tanking

    There's also Tava's Favor, which has the benefit of being craftable and the downside of not having jewelry ...

    (5 Items) When you dodge an attack, you receive the blessing of Tava, generating 9 Ultimate over 3 seconds.

    For PvE im assuming since we are talking about ult gen meta;

    Kinda depends;

    I use currently --> x5 tavas + x2 bloodspawn + x1 Masters sword (Decisive) on main bar + x1 Masters sword defending on back bar + x 3 potentates + x2 random shield

    Gives me a nice mix of reduced ult cost, bloodspawn bonus + ult gen from tavas and the sustain from masters sword. Id have to give up masters sword for another 5 piece or give up bloodspawn so I prefer a 5 set, a 3 set , a moster set pair and 2 no-set items. If only there was a masters shield sighssssssss

    I prefer Tavas blessing since it works so well with elude (medium armor major evasion). But this set doesn't work too well with blood spawn and Hide of the Werewolf since those two sets rely on taking damage for ulti generation. So tavas with Shalk's Exoskeleton seems to be a good combo here. I would probably still use blood spawn on last two slots here anyway since it is so good :) Tremorscale is cool and all but i would prefer blood spawn.

    Ebon is worth considering in trials. 4 man dungeons shouldn't really need it.

    DK

    Tavas - Werewolf - Bloodspawn

    The reasoning here is simple, DK resource mangment is tied to ultimate use and cost so you don't want to reduce cost.

    Nightblade

    Tavas - Dragon - Bloodspawn

    Niggtblades are an ultimate generating machine you could also carry soul harvest on you front bar and wathorn on your back bar if you really wanted to over do it. Chug a bunch of trash pots of cookdown your hardly ever out of ulti.

    Sorc and Templar Tanks are a toss up;

    Tavas - Dragon - Bloodpaws

    These classs get no perk related to ultimate cost so less is more and Tavas and Bloodspawn is a machine. You can easily be at 1/2 to 3/4 ultimate before warhorn come down.

    Shalk is nice and I believe it's an overland set sobit will be farmable and possibly cheaper to obtain.

    I recently priced Dragon vs Weewolf hide on PS4 and the jewelry for werewolf was way cheaper.

    I would run Tavas - werewolf on any of those, the real beauty is using a decisive weapon 17% chance on purple quality 1H to gain an extra ultimate point every time you earn one. That means you can literally earn an ultimate 20% roughly faster.

    I wouldn't forget about decisive weapons though most think it's garbage I think they are awesome.

    Edit;

    Unless your made of gold I recommend crafting a tavas Shields in the trait you would like because getting a reinforced dragon shield is going to be heck of a grind or cost you.

    Easy setup that allows me to interchange pieces;

    Bar 1 & 2 S&B

    1H dragon or Werewolf Tavas Shield

    Or bar 2 DW (the benefit here is quick cloak 20% AOE reduction and major exposition if you do t have it)

    Dragon or werewolf and Tavas 1H

    Body

    4 Tavas (Craft to fit 5-1-1 undaunted needs or all heavy)
    2 Bloodspawn (mix and match best pieces use crafted tavas to fill any undaunted benefits you want or don't)
    1 Dragon or Werewolf (werewolf will satisfy your medium undaunted)

    Jewelry 3 werewolf or dragon

    *one thing to remember is Dragon jewelry comes in healthy and Werwolf in Robust so this may decide for you or use attribute points around what you need.

    For trials I would go with 5 Tava, 5 Alkosh (3 Jewel+2 body) and 2 Bloodspawn. If not using alkosh go ebon.

    Craft your 3 piece body and weapons and tava. That leaves room for a monster set (bloodspawn) and any other 5 piece (jewelry and 2 body) You can then try ebon, alkosh, dragon, or even yokuda in this flex spot.

    Cheers!

    How did you fail to mention Tava?
    It's the BEST ulti regen set.

    P.S. I go for Akaviri Dragonguard, because I am a mag DK tank.
    Stam DK tanks can also go Werewolf.

    Nothing beats Tava in terms of Ulti generation if you are running as main Tank. However it's useless on off tank though. Also since it's craftable so having no jewelry is actually no problem since you can fit it in any slot and in any trait you want.

    On the other hand, you forgot to mention if you are looking for option for vet Dungeons or trials in general or Vet (HM) Trials. As in Vet HM trials, ulti generation is good but at the same time survival is the key. And trust me those Bosses HIT HARD. Try Warrior in HM HRC and you;ll know what i'm talking about or perhaps you already know. You need to have a decent pool og health and capped mitigation with right CP distribution.

    Shalk Exoskeleton is pretty useless IMO. As tank you should have minor heroism up at all times, because you should always debuff the stronger enemies with Heroic Slash. I basically spam that with heavy attacks at everything and build up ultimate quite fast; heavy attack pretty much refunds the cost of slash, and they can be cast together. As long as the boss or mob is not doing any heavy attack I don't even block when doing them, so my stamina regeneration also kicks it - it's close to 2K. So I rarely run out of stamina even being very aggressive with slashes and noxious breath, even with non-templar healers.

    My setup is 2 x Bloodspawn + 5 x Willow's Path + 2 x Alessia's Bulwark (infused big pieces, divines small ones, defending on weapon, prismatic enchantments on armor, crusher on weapon) + 3 x Endurance (robust, with block/bash cost reduction)

    Another good set I've heard a lot about is Tava's Favor, which grants you ultimate for every attack you dodge. Running shuffle during some battles certainly has benefits, because they hit hard, but in those where the boss itself or adds shoot projectiles, I prefer running dragon fire scale. The latter is also a magicka ability, as opposed to a stamina one, and as a tank I do everything to conserve that. Also I've heard reports from people running Tava's Favor with Bloodspawn regenerating enough ultimate to use warhorn or standard every ~45s. Without Tava's I can average about the same, in my experience one of those abilities every 45-50s in sustained combat. My guess is that Tava's actually "steals" some of the procs Bloodspawn would have had, and that both's overall contribution is small overall, with the bulk of the ultimate coming from heroic slash, heavy attacks and earthen heart class abilities. I use ingenous shields, ingenous weapons and cinder storm - the latter seems to be working better as a CC and temporary aggro, compared to razor caltrops, even if the radius is smaller. At the time I crafted my armor Tava's wasn't even in the game, and after it went live I didn't consider it to have a sufficient advantage over Willow's Path to be worth the costs making the set, upgrading to gold quality and putting prismatic enchantments on it (Hakeijo went for 30K a piece back then). But that doesn't mean I will not craft it in the future and use it together with something else, that has either group utility (Alkosh or Ebon) or grants Ultimate cost reduction (Dragon or Potentates). But not together with Bloodspawn. I'm pretty close to the resistance cap without using any reinforced or nirned piece, and using one light and one medium, so Bloodspawn resistance part of the proc is mostly wasted. I could go with Chudan set to really hit the cap if I use Potentate's jewelry.

    A tank should have tons of different sets for different situations. Tava's+Bloodspawn+Ebon is most common for most stuff.
