Loosely translated:
You shouldn't have done this as it shows what we couldn't/wouldn't do, but since we can't backtrack it's kudos. But be aware when we do the same thing with our patch it might break your own changes because we need to appear like we know what we're doing.
Why are you assuming that ZOS knew in advance that this was going to be an issue?I like the fact the ZoS did know about this iusses and instead of fix before it went live then just let it be in honest is not better to fix the problem before you send out on live ZoS?Night_Watch wrote: »Could you please look into the thread;ZOS_DaryaK wrote: »More importantly, however, it may break the code fix that we will be implementing.

Okay, ZoS should have explained things better, but I'm absolutely stymied that so many people seem to be so... backward... about the way computers work *sigh*. Sorry.. oh and all the *workarounds* omg >.< I can only imagine the problems those have caused people who already can't work out that there really isn't any problem to begin with, just some wrong words
Seriously ??? If it is this easy, why don't we have a hot fix from ZOS for this yet @ZOS_GinaBruno ?
Agreed. Thanks for explaining it much better than I could!Because their procedures probably require a serious of tests before every fix/patch that is not super critical (like economy affecting hot fixes). Chances are some dev said "whoops" the second this was reported last Wednesday, fixed it in an internal branch 5minutes later, but QA rules and practices made ZOS put and bundle this in a Monday's patch. It sounds stupid but often this way turns out better than the alternative (fix and publish within seconds) becuase every once in a while such a fix will break something unexpectedly. Testing takes time, so they bundle several fixes together and do the testing on that

Firstly, it will permanently lock you out of the NA server. More importantly, however, it may break the code fix that we will be implementing.

Over the weekend I wasted a few hours on a new toon before I realized I was connected on US and not EU and that the previous selection of live-eu wasn't saved.
I think this is a bigger problem than ZOS realise. Many people will follow the ZOS instructions and think they are then on EU. I mean, why would people question it, the company is telling them something, the game is not in early access/beta etc., the launcher is even telling them they are on EU.
A few people play this effect down, but it's quite inevitable that it will affect a great many people. We tend to see information supporting what we've been told, and filter out the rest. Why would we think we're not bound to EU, when we've just carried out what the launcher is telling us we are?

Not sure if they posted on FB. Being a social leper , I don't have a FB account. Call me old fashioned, but if i want to know what friends are doing I'll go speak to them
If I hadn't been paying for three subs (wife, son and myself) for over a year now plus a small fortune in crowns and three copies of the game, it would almost be comical!

Jokes on you if you pay more than the bare minimum requirement to play the game - which currently would be the gold edition containing every DLC.

Crafting Bag though, it's like crack for ESOheads.

Are you sure you want to support a gaming company who can't even fix a simple launcher for the EU folks with the only carrot on a stick being the crafting bag?

Well, I was being tongue in cheek.
Although I am subbed myself right now, I'm certainly going to be rethinking that one when the period expires. I only came back 3 weeks ago and it's clear to me the support is even worse than it was when I left, and it was terrible then! I do feel that companies charging a fee must provide an acceptable level of service, we may all have varying views on what constitutes that level of acceptability, but I think being able to login without jumping through hoops is a basic need for most people...

I came back to ESO last week after having dropped it quickly after release.
And I already can tell they either 1. have no proper QA-department or 2. don't care at all for feedback provided.
And that official comment with "please don't fix it on your own and wait for an unspecified date when we get off our ass and do something about it" is just giving the finger to the paying EU customer.
