Missing map pointers for quests after OT

Is anybody missing map pointers for quests? I can see them when I get close enough on the compass, and also In-World, but I'm not seeing them on the map itself, or the quest tab of the map

Its not on your end

same here on EU PC, no quest markers shown at all on map, even when stood right next to the quest NPC, been like this since i got in the game.

In all honesty this is a very small obvious patch bug, compared to all the others I have encountered, for me personally this patch has broken most of the game. and thats when and if you can get into the game, login on EU is RNG

Funny thing though they show on my MiniMap addon I use, so at least the author of that knows what he is doing

Try it with a non-writ quest. This issue has been reported though and ZOS are looking into why it's effecting existing quests. If possible, drop the ones already in your journal and pick them up again

looks like i'm missing all of the quest map pointers...i've already recreated the usersettings.txt file, and also did a repair on the install...anybody have any suggestions?

Is this on quests you had in your journal before the update or new ones you've picked up since the update?

mostly ones that were already in the journal, but i picked up new writ quests since then and same problem...i haven't yet tried to accept a new non-writ quest yet...

wow, sorry to hear that...i'm looking for a new quest to add right now to see what happens...

well, you saved me from reinstall <g>...i guess it's good news that others are experiencing it...hopefully they'll get it straightened out soon...it'd be a bummer to lose the quest progress, my chars all each have about 15-18 quest each open...and you can't really drop a MQ can you...well, let's see what happens when i pick up a new non-writ quest

No probs. As I said, ZOS are looking into, along with a plethora of other issues, that came along with the patch so hopefully we see fixes for most next week

yeah, hope so...i dropped a quest & picked it back up...still no marker...<sigh>...well thanks again, movin' onto some non-quest stuff i guess for a while

Seems to be happening with new quests as well. I went back into to Craglorn to run that whole area again and once I picked up the quest for the Star Gazers I noticed the markers don't show up.

yeah, i saw the same thing....at first i was focusing on writs, because that's about all I was even doing at first, then after a bit of troubleshooting like disabling all addons, dropping & readding the writ quests, and doing a repair from the launcher...i started to notice yesterday that it wasn't just the writ quests, but that it was all quest markers.

I also saw that the issue was on the map itself, and the quest tab of the map where the quests are listed, but there was no issue on the compass and the in-world areas...the quest markers were in fact there...

I already sent a bug report, but it focused on the writs...i'll send another now that i have more info, and that it's a bigger problem than I first thought...

so what's ironic is that, for the moment I'm gonna continue to do writs & horsie upgrades, because I know where the zone1 & zone2 locations are without the pointers <g>...and maybe some bosses & dolmens too...no use in struggling with the other quests at the moment til they figure this out, just in case they need to do some sort of rollback or quest reset to fix it...i just hope it's sooner than later

I had also posted this issue in the Bug Report section and received a response, with an apparently simple solution. Although this most certainly was fallout from the One Tamriel update, the fix offered did involve manually editing the usersettings.txt file. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I will later this weekend when I get a chance, since I work weekends. However it did work for the poster:

Further, as this did affect numerous users but certainly not the majority, there must have been some commonality for those of us affected. My first thought was OS and/or CPU, because the fix involved settings related to threads. If we can give ZOS some feedback here, they might be able to come to a conclusion, fix it up, and avoid the issue for future players. Even more further, since renaming and recreating the usersettings.txt file did not work for me, there may be something that the new update is detecting or failing to detect, causing the issue. Bear in mind that I haven't tried this yet, but it did resolve the same issue for the poster.

So, I'll start. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, and my CPU is an Intel 2nd gen I7 with 2 cores and 4 threads. I know that Win7 64bit may not be uncommon, but the Ultimate might be, as well as the 2nd gen I7.
