Other players play for fun more casually.
Needs to be a balance between the two a difficulty setting would be the solution but won't happen.
I believe they should nerf all of them. Everyone doing dolmens but ignore worldbosses. A new dolmen reappears and a whole swarm of people comes up instantly. Asking for help for a worldboss I just get silence. After 30-40 minutes someone shows up but still we get wiped several times that they quit (and no, is not my build or playstyle)

Need multiple people to play an MMO??? You don't say??
Stuff is hard??? You don't say??
Gimme really good loot for doing nothing.... god this game is so face roll and casual and easy.. it sucks.. make it harder QQ
Omg this game is too hard, nothing is easy.... way to make the game suck QQ..

Now, I'm going to have to hope their are others around to help take down world bosses People don't understand how dead silver and gold zones are. It's not like there are dozens of players all over the place just loving the crap out of the overland content. They will never enjoy the player base they had at release on PC again. Their are simply other MMOs out there that do this stuff better and I want this game to be successful. And I agree with wanting a challenge. But challenge does not mean stupidly impossible or difficult. It generally means a 10% to 15% difficulty bump. People like to feel like their characters can actually do damage and take something down no matter what level they are.

I think I just won Elitist Bingo!
It's not so much the difficulty, it's the green jewel drops.

I am not being an Elitist at all. I am a casual player but I miss the difficulty that came with this game when it was first launched year ago. There needs to be group content, solo content, trials, PVP and a balance for all.
But just because everything doesn't become a face roll and instant solo people start to QQ about being to difficult.
You might wanna keep playing bingo

Classic strawman of not reading the actual points of the thread and instead accusing players of wanting "good loot for doing nothing." A1

Her flame whip pretty much instakilling anyone despite blocking, having full health on and a shield etc.
The difficulty on these seem hugely different. Is there a reason why some of them can be soloed quite easily, and one takes 3-4 maxed people to go down, and even then you die? Would be nice if they were at least around the same difficulty.

3.5M health bosses on the world map (not talking about the events/skull marked bosses). Several 1 shotting bosses, like the arena at the swordfighter school, where you even get 3 of them at once. Craglorn revamped for a 2 people group my a$$. We were 4 high CP people to even get through the Way of the Arena part of the swordfigher school daily. Had we been 2 we wouldn't have stood a chance.

Interesting thought ... oh wait ... ESO is in a Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) genre of games. You know ... other players play simultaneously in the same game as you?
That type of genre.

Based on when I went through there (again, admittedly on PTS), it's still doable with two if you block or interrupt some of the telegraphed attacks.Carbonised wrote: »You can also add Craglorn to my list of complaints here.

did they buff it?
it used to be doable with two.

I haven't been to Craglorn yet. Is it possible the encounter adapts to the number of players in it?
Get more people and don't forget the 5 Ds, Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge.
I love this new difficulty. Requires a lot of people to take them down. Actually feels like a world BOSS instead of a cupcake.
I think there's however a limit for bosses to drop loot. Only the N players who do the most damage to the boss get any loot, but the loot table is the same for all, with separately generated loot for each player though so you can't "ninja" some items from the other players. So beating the boss solo, or in a group of M<=N players would result in the same loot chances for all M. But if there are N players in the group and N+1 and N+2 players come along, or simply don't do enough damage, they will receive nothing. That's the case with bosses in IC, including Molag Bal.
I've got to bring this back because I'm so fed up with the world bosses which are randomly too hard. Some are doable, and then some are just gimmicky with cheap shots. It was better the old way, because at least that made it possible for people who solo, or play in a group of 2-3 max (which is 85-90~ per cent of the PvE population). It'll only be 10-15~ per cent of the population who'll be happy with this, the H4RDC0R3. Those people. Yes. Those people.
The thing is? You're going to alienate new people who'll join your game and get sick of this stuff. The forced grouping, the cheap world bosses? That's going to get old, really quick, and you won't have a sustainable playerbase. You'll be in the same place as every other niche MMO that's ended up on life support for exactly the same reasons.
Wildstar? Life support. Champions Online? Life support. Star Wars: The Old Republic? Life support.I think Guild Wars 2 and ESO are the only holdouts right now. Though the populations of neither could be described as especially healthy or sustainable.
If you want to have a sustainable population, you need to keep the people who play for fun, not for grinding. Those are the people who provide the cash store money and subscriptions. They play a lot of alts, they play through existing content a lot, they roleplay. It's not like PvP players who'll get bored and leave the game when a better PvP option turns up. It's not like the H4RDC0R3 who'll quit the game until the next content drops, only to rush through it and leave, then whine about the lack of/easiness of content on the forums.
This world boss scenario is just going to alienate people. And I just feel so much frustration at ZOS that they don't seem to know how to hold a sustainable, profitable userbase. And I keep thinking that the reason why is due to key people in ZOS being so outdated, so from the Everquest period of MMO gaming, that they just can't keep up.
And that's hurting the game, right now. It's hurting the game a lot.
