If you apply to any job as a UI/UX Designer, Graphic Designer, Layout Designer, Web Designer, Production Designer and you have 'orphans' all over your work/portfolio, you will most likely not get the job as it's considered sloppy. lol I didn't know what the OP meant. My wife works in the field and explained it to me and laughed. She mentioned the term "widow" also.

Good point. Subtitles in movies works that way as well. But there are simple coding for that. Orphan property controls the minimum number of lines of a paragraph that can be left on a page.

Blame your screen resolution. The designer can easily manipulate a static body of type to avoid widows and orphans, but when it's fluid like some HTML, the client's computer is the one that dictates the width of the bounding box at that point. The type just wraps to fit.

Same loading screen, two different window resolutions.

And yeah like you said, a coder can easily manipulate to avoid orphans in paragraphs depending on what web language they use (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/SQL).

Khajiit she thought this thread might be about taking in small and hungry children to do the cooking and sweep the floors.

Now this one will have to keep making the Argonian boy do all the menial work, in addition to his usual pocket cleaning responsibilities. Spiny Tim does not complain though and is most glad of his bowl of soup and rag bed.
