(Keep walls can no longer be repaired when between 95% and 100% health while under attack.
"Troll repairing" as some people affectionately call it has been removed. We will be watching feedback on this change closely.)

Personaly... i liked this abilitie..

It forces the attacker to bring their A game.
And all you needed was 7 stone trebs hitting at the same times to surpass 94% on the wall.

For some reason i feel like ZOS is pandering to the super unskilled/ ragtag hordes.

If you don't need to talk to peeps in your faction to bring down a wall because the keep is well defended . then its not worth takeing the keep.

Thanks ZOS... you have just made it easier for mindless SOLO YOLO masses.

When taking a keep... it is a group effort..

And on the defense side.. (troll repairing) gave the defense more time to set up.. and get ready for the on coming on-slot .

it is a lot harder to set up a defense in a keep than it is to set up and offense out side a keep....

    Lol i think this is the sole reason its almost impossible to take haderus from dc on xbox NA because every little pug is doing it. Do you know of setting up the same amount of seige on walls and destroying their seige?? Because i am sure as hell glad they fixed this its already annoying when you get a wall down and 15 invis people insta bang it to full again. Let alone seiging a keep for 40mins?? What does glitching a wall do? Get you bigger D ticks ? Because i see this as a step forward for the pvp community.

    I'm not sure about the change yet. I totally get why they are implimenting it, and they ARE watching feedback on it. Perhaps this was needed. I mean, one defender can repair a keep faster than say, 5 siege are damaging it?

    But I also totally agree it is a buffer between zerglings tearing down undefended keeps, giving the time to get reinforcements and therefore have a fair fight.

    Maybe if this change stands, introduce some sort of new AP purchases item. Much like camps, it could produce a magic barrier overy the wall to shield it from damage for 15 seconds? Enough time to get a few repairs off, and maybe even turn the tide of a siege. Think of the new possibilities. That said, it would have to be cost prohibitive, and maybe walls have a cooldown on them after using it (for say, 5-10 minutes) to prevent overuse?

    Also just my 2 pennies.

    well I am not sure how I feel about this, it was a strategy to hold off attackers a bit while reinforcements arrived, I do think this swings in the favor of attackers, defenders will now have to be more flexible to the ebb and flow of the battle field as soon as something is called out as being under attack if you want tot get there before it flags you will have to move quick on it.

    After One Tamriel, rams will have their damage doubled it is in the patch notes for pts, also with the smaller foot prints of siege this means there will be more on the wall so there may not be a need for ninja repair, and the angle of ballista's will now angle down more, taking a keep will be interesting at first. Time will tell. :)

    breaches are choke points, choke points are defend able.

    Having 1 person being able to hold off 5 people firing big ol rocks at the wall by being supermason™ was dumb
    Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    Mixed feelings. Liked it when was only a small amount of defenders waiting in reinforcements but on the other hand, while pug wrangling newbs it's hard to get them to understand what is happening and have them all listen to a count down to fire.

    This is basicly the reason why I like the change. Now small groups can easier siege outposts that are defended by some repair stone spammers. If your zerg puts down 20 sieges, troll repair won't work anyway, but shooting 7 sieges at the same time with a 6 man group is quite difficult.

    I like having troll repairs to give defense a bit more time. They are easy enough to overcome anyway.

    I dont run in no organised group. They repair glitch the wall while spamming crap from the top pugs just keeps seiging other people breach it else where while idiots are getting thinned out by people atop keeps. They get in all pugs die no one forward camps they wipe while the defending alliance have amassed a horde and push out and wipe pugs or the wall is already repaired from invis wall emperors this fix helps aviod that cycle. Organised groups win no matter what but mostly pugs who dont listen and do thheir own thing. Its just easier I agree about undefended keeps but its a joke when the whole campaign is there

    I've been an avid troll repairer and I'll be sad because so many times I've been the only one at an outpost or keep and I could troll repair long enough for others to arrive who could truly defend.

    I have to ask ZOS, is it your intention to reduce the time it takes to breach a door or wall? I don't think such a change is beneficial to the game, but I don't have access to the vast data you have...
    Am a whimsical Generation Jones gamer. Online RPGs hooked me since '94 and no sign of stopping soon...

    This is a bad change. I think that one of the negative aspects of ESO's game design is how it encourages PvDoor. Troll repairing allowed a skeleton defense team to buy time while awaiting the arrival of reinforcements.

    Without troll repairing, many more keeps will be PvDoored with no opportunity for a credible defense at all. Yawn.

    Keeps should never be taken without PVP combat. Instead of encouraging players to 50/50 walls in order to take a keep with no defense, the game should have mechanisms to provide opportunities for fun, fair PVP fights.

    It's like ZOS is making this change to reduce the length of time needed to take keeps because of the way it recklessly reintroduced FCs, buffed siege and nerfed mobility all at the same time. This is how ZOS does things. Instead of addressing root causes, it applies bandaid over bandaid over bandaid.

    @ZOS_RichLambert please stop with these half-assed bandaid changes and invest significant resources to improving AvA gameplay design.

    Isn't that an update for the next PTS patch only? It was posted in die PTS Forum. This will not hit the Live Servers yet. It will be changed with One Tamriel, but not next week already.
    I'll enjoy troll repairing for two more weeks on Live, and I hope they reconsider this change!

    I agree that this is a bad idea. Troll repairing gives the defending faction enough time for reinforcements sometimes, and for a coordinated group of attackers it shouldn't be a problem to overcome anyways.

    That's why we need proper game design to address the root causes, not the ZOS approach of "how can we fix this Cyrodiil issue in 30 seconds or less?"

    With the new range for siege deployment. It would not have mattered anyway. People will drop alot more sieges and will break the troll repairs no matter what. As much as I enjoyed giving my faction an extra minute to hold against a group until reinforcements arrive, I think this was a broken mechanic and needed adjustments.

    • Fix Volendrung (spawn location - weapon white on the map causing the wielder to keep it forever - usable with emperorship)

    Let's be honest here the reason you can't take haderus on Xbox na is because DC goes everywhere with 50 plus people

    Not quite; concrete requires admixtures to alter it's traditional 30 day strength curing process. Typically there's only a few ways to speed the process, and one use requires chloride which is highly corrosive towards metals. And you go from 30 days to like 15 days.

    You can also slow the curing process in very hot weather and have an admixture that prevents the freezing of water in concrete. But we already know cold/fire seige weapons don't work well on keeps :p.

    This is such a hypocrisy.

    You call them super unskilled. Yet you can nullify their effort by simply spamming one button (repair). What skill does that require?

    It would be ok to force attackers to bring their A game if it also forced the defenders to do so, instead of only requiring a mindless repair key spam.

    Let's think about this in RL terms. Would you seriously think there'd be people trying to lay mortar and stone to a wall that's being hit by massive rocks, dead bodies, severed heads, things on fire, and whatever else a Treb could throw? LOL.

    But at least it's going to affect all sides equally. That's all I can say. Yeah it's been a valid tactic forever, but PvP is going to change dramatically once all these new gear sets get on the field too. Learn, adapt, overcome. =/

    Let's also remember we will be able to respawn and transport to outposts on this next update, AND it might make the populous spread out a bit more to keep an eye on these places. /shrug
