Thaumaturge

I often have to look that one up, because to further confuse things, "effect" can also be used as a verb. As in "my rudeness affected the people around me", vs. "my rudeness did effect a change in the people around me". This page goes through it:
    https://www.vocabulary.com/articles/chooseyourwords/affect-effect/

And OP - thanks! I clicked on this not for a grammar lesson but for the insight into Thaumaturge! :)

"I still do not understand why I followed the advice of Captain Rana to bring the villagers of Bleakrock into safety. We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. Now my home village is in shambles, the houses burning, the invaders feasting.I swear every day to Shor that after Molag Bal has been defeated, I will hunt down the invaders and restore peace in Bleakrock and drink my mead with my friends at the market place".PC-EU

Magicka is increased 4.11% with 100 points in Mage. That's 1.10% extra damage in general.
1.1% more damage? How exactly did you figure for that number?

I also wonder this, since I know there is a flat conversion between magic and spell damage, but magicka percent is by definition not a fixed increase.

That's the average increase. Check the Arithmagic post where all the value increases are given. Or use ESO skill log website to find the exact value.
By my rough estimates, that would only be true in the case that the player had a magicka to spell damage ratio of around 1:3.5. As an example, someone with 4000 spell damage would have around 14000 magicka. My numbers aren't accurate but even something close to that is unrealistic- a couple of attribute points alone puts you above that number.

I generally see people having a ratio of1:6-15 (e.g 30000 magicka and 5000 spell damage, 40000 magicka and 2500 spell damage). A ratio of 1SD :10.45Magicka would mean a 50/50 split for most abilities- equating to a ~0.5% increase in damage for a 1% increase in magicka. I just don't see where this 1% magicka = 0.27% damage comes from.

I just tested Endless Hail on the PTS... It does not seem like Thaumaturge effects a change in damage. At least the damage value in the tool tip does not change. For Poison Injection the tooltip does change.

Is this a bug or intended behavior? EH should be counted as a DoT, considering it procs Valkyn Skoria.

Just tested this on a Wrothgar mammoth. With 0 Thaumaturge EH strikes for 591 damage (in my test case), with 100 Thaumaturge it's 739, or 125%.

So it seems that the combat behavior is correct, but the tooltip is wrong.
